Cuir Vegetal

This is a really interesting fragrance. It smells pretty much like you's expect from the listed notes and the "main accords"...woody, aromatic, earthy, coffee (kind of), leather, mossy, warm spicy, fresh spicy, animalic. You get a lovely green spicy top end from the rosemary (and maybe some hints of other green notes) which gives that slight eucalyptus type of tingle - but it doesn't jump out at all. It's subtle. It is blended with a more earthy greenness from the moss, giving balance to the base, and tying it in to the top end. There is some bitterness in there too from what I guess is the coffee, but again, it is subtle and well blended. It doesn't stand out enough as an obvious "coffee note", to turn into the composition into a "coffee scent". Leather is definitely there throughout. It is slightly animalic and almost medicinal (could be being pushed in that direction from the rosemary and slightly resinous cedar) but not as harsh, bitter and loud as things like Tuscan Leather or Acqua di Parma Leather. Main player here, for me at least, is the cedar. And I do love cedar. It has that pencil shaving thing going on and is slightly resinous and camphorous, which kind of blends into the rosemary in the top end. The whole thing is quite lovely actually, very well balanced and very interesting...but definitely not for everyone. If you're looking for a mass appealing, compliment magnet this probably isn't it. There is no fruity, sparkly, loud top end bergamot/pineapple/mandarin/grapefruit being carried by ambroxan - this is a much dryer, woodier, earthy composition that has an almost rich powdery vibe. If you are into fragrances that are a bit "different" and interesting, you will probably enjoy this. Especially when you can find them for £20 online. Personally I really enjoy it and will definitely be checking out some more 100bon fragrances.

An amazing smoky scent with a horrible longevity
