Elemi & Ambre

100Bon is comparable to Demeter for compelling compositions with no longevity. This is my third 100Bon and the most long lasting of all. The elemi shines. Zesty citrus and sticky balsam of the resin starts off loud and maintains a noteworthy presence, tempered by the smoked vanilla amber accord, for most of an hour. As it settles to a skin scent, it dwindles to a clingy powdered resin. Natural perfumery rarely lasts as long as fragrances made with some lab originated aromachemicals. This one is SO good, I’m tempted to buy the refill bottle and doctor additional bottles with fixative ingredients. I want to savor this old world church incense all day.

I love it! To me, it smells like strong, slightly bitter elemi and incense that turn more sweet and soft as the fragrance develops and as they mix with vanilla, a hint of sandalwood and patchouli. I think there's traces of ylang ylang, but I don't smell any citrus. I also accidentally paired it with Davana and Vanilla Bourbon by the same brand and found the combination amazing: an unexpected sweet, peachy incense!

Lovely citrus opening and absolutely delicious amber, with patchouly and vanilla undertones. The smell is warm and cozy, really beautiful. Pity it has no sillage and a very limited longevity. One of the best among those I've tried from this brand.

absolutely love it! The smell is cozy, warm, sensual, rich, woody and resinous. It is very comforting smell, easy to wear in office, day or night, any season. Sadly the sillage and longevity are rather poor...

Delicious! If you love Elemi, this is for you. Lasts phenomenally, has a lovely warm, rather sexy base. Remarkably good value.

Could church-cologne exist as a category? It most certainly can! This is firmly on Admirabilis territory. To me they both come across as a cologne type aromatic scent with the addition of churchy incense and resins. It takes some getting used to, but it works well on a gloomy autumn day. Not the best performance, but sort of lingers as a skin scent.
