Rose & Bergamote

Lovely. For quite a while I am on the hunt for an "honest" rose scent without all the sugary-ness. I am prone to headaches when I wear sweet scents. So yes, I am very happy with this perfume. I have the concentrée version an if I can find the large refill I will surely buy it. It is january now, and it colours the grey, drab rainy days, but I look forward to wearing this in spring!

Love at first sniff. Ten bucks for a spray bottle at Walgreens; why not? Very lovely scent to go in the purse for spraying on the go. Suprisingly good sillage and throw. Like I said, why not?

Bergamote & Rose Sauvage opens with the dry, slightly peppery greenness of geranium, which is soon followed by a natural redolence of rose. The rose here is not the wan, watery type, but a true, peachy rose showing its fruity, honeyed, a tad spicy and dried tea leaf nuances. Since I don't perceive the bergamot separately, I'm guessing that's where I got the citrus tea connotation. The sillage is moderate at first, but it soon drops to close to skin after about 15 minutes. The dry down sees the rose turns drier, like dried petals, then muskier and slightly powdery, with a tad tartness of citrus fruits. The fragrance lasts around 5 hours on my skin. Although it's arguably not as sophisticated as the many grand rose perfumes, Bergamote & Rose Sauvage is still impressive enough at its price range, in which most rose fragrances tend to be fresh to the extent of being insubstantial. If you are interested in the complex aroma of rose but would like an affordable option as a start, I think Bergamote & Rose Sauvage would be a lovely introduction.

Simple, slightly green rose. What vanilla there is is mercifully clean. Like smelling the rose and geranium standing in a bright white porcelain vase, and somehow smelling the vase too. No-one’s going to be hunting through dusty warehouses in thirty years looking for the last bottle, but it’ll probably all have sold anyway because it smells really good for what you pay. Far from long lasting, but that’s not always a bad thing; bung a bit on on a bright morning with the windows open and look at a lovely tree with a squirrel in it.

I only half-like this; it's too green for my taste. However, there is a more concentrated version of this, with a black instead of white label on the bottle (not yet listed in the database). And I really like that version. It's softer and to me smells of rose and vanilla. It's a very safe scent; perhaps even a bit boring at first, but delicious in the dry-down (still speaking of the more concentrated version).

On me the dry down is a lot like SL La Fille de Berlin - a very fresh rose geranium, but with the tiniest bit of spice. I like it, and it would be a cheaper alternative to the SL fragrance at half the price. With both fragrances, I wouldn't protest the addition of a discernable base note or two, but that's why they aren't favorites for me, just likes.

This one is pleasant and fresh in the start. Very like the real smell of roses! It fresh and fruity. In the drydown unfortunately it gets sweet and powedery. The freshness dissappears. At moments it smells like lipstick. But all in all a good perfume. If it didnt change so much...

This is a safe, clean, sweet office-friendly scent which smells of light pink roses with a hint of stem. I wear it as a calming scent or when I know someone will otherwise be allergic. It's really rather lovely. Lasts about 4-6 hours on me.

I bought this in Bordeaux at a little perfume shop. I was looking for rose, and the proprieter directed me to this. It's a pleasant, extremely cologne. I think it disappears almost immediately, but inexpensive and pretty bottle.

It opens on a note of rose candy (Flavigny) which I ate as a kid... Then for about an hour it is a very soft, pleasant, inoffensive rose. Quite romantic and simple. It doesn't project much and becomes a skin scent after that.

This fragrance is less like Bergamote and more like a dry rose petal tea. It is lovely while it lasts (all of ten minutes) but it makes a nice pick me up on a warm bright day. As with all of 100Bon's fragrances, I suggest you by the concentrated version.

Rose and lemon cologne. Way too fleeting.

Terrible fragrances that is not suitable for men neither women.

Honestly? This smells like walking into a Sally’s beauty supply. Not for me.
