Sweet Tobacco Spirits

The expression "Wow!" pretty much captures my sentiments regarding this fragrance. I picked-up a bottle of Sweet Tobacco Spirits three months ago but decided to wait 'till the Fall to try this one. Although it's the heat of a late-August, I decided to break the label and give this one a whirl last night. Bam!...instant love! While this fragrance is not completely original--not that much is--I feel that it is a damn fine fragrance that performs well and smells spanktacular! Okay, "Wow! and "Spanktactular" sums up my thoughts. A short while after aplying this scent, I stopped by local store to pickup an Argentine Malbec along with Newcastle Ale since it was kick-back-and-relax homemade pizza and movie night at my girlfriend's place. I received two compliments while standing in the check-out line...one from a gal and another from a male cashier who asked what I was wearing. Later my girlfriend told me I smelled amazing and buried her head into my neck and chest while being greeted at the door. Surprisingly, it was not at all cloying--to me--in the Summer Night heat (just don't go nuts on the trigger) but this scent is far better suited for the Fall and Winter months. So what does spanktacular smell like? In a nutshell, I find this fragrance to be a very nice quality tobacco scent with plenty of cognac, honey and a really gorgeous sweet-aromatic accord. I don't see tobacco listed in the notes pyramid, but that's what I smell. Moreover, while tonka and vanilla can certainly be detected in the drydown, this blend comes across smelling more like tobacco, cognac (boozy) and honey until that really nice boozy tonka/vanilla vibe takes over with just a hint of tobacco in the background. Performance of Sweet Tobacco Spirits is solid; lasts 12+ hours on my skin and projects above average...heavy for the first 2-hours, within a arm the next 4-hours, and then transitions closer to the skin for the next 6+ hours on my skin. This scent is a crown-pleaser and makes for a solid club scent--although not beastly it smells fantastic, performs well, and can hold its own against loud fragrance the first 2-3 hours--and it is also a great date night fragrance since you'll receive consideration attention while having dinner, followed by receiving considerable affection while cuddling after desert and drinks. Sweet! No...make that Sweet Tobacco Spirits.

Sweet Tobacco Spirits is the only scent from the company 18.21 Made Made, and given the absence of any previous compositions, it would have been difficult to know what to expect if not for the huge hype this has received the past few months in the online community. Its accords are honey, vanilla, tonka, wine, and woods, so while tobacco isn't a listed note, it's nonetheless inspired by the otherwise sweet boozy blend that actually constitutes the fragrance and makes me think of a smoky room where wood and tobacco are part of the general smell. The wine smell is one of fortified wine like brandy, port, or sherry, not truly red, white, or blush wine itself. So it's sharp, pointed, but fermented in a way that's seemingly old and sweet. Tonka provides a certain powderiness, and there's an indistinct smoky and woody quality about it. The genre of "sweet tobacco" fragrances is certainly broad, with a few specific fan favorites, and while I generally find that there's not much new road to be paved, Sweet Tobacco Spirits offers something new. It's most similar to By Kilian Back to Black due to honey dominance AND smokiness, whereas Parfum de Marly Herod has the honey but not the smokiness. Also similar, though not as similar, are Thierry Mugler A*Men Pure Havane, Dua Fragrances Honey Havane, and Wiseguys Vegas Cologne. The fragrance is described as a perfume, and while it's unclear if that actually denotes an extrait or pure perfume concentration, the juice certainly performs unusually well on my skin, on par with its contemporaries listed above, perhaps to the point that this could be borderline cloying if worn in warmer weather. At $80 for 100ml, the value is high (imagining its alleged earlier pricing of $30 or $40 is difficult), comparable to Pure Havane or Vegas Cologne. With its especially boozy, slightly powdery, smoky, and woody character, Sweet Tobacco Spirits is enough of a departure from the other "sweet tobacco" mainstays that it's one I'll likely buy. I recommend that potential fans try it out. 8 out of 10

This nectar from the gods is a boozy, but sweet fragrance that should be worn with a leather jacket or on a boat. Better yet a gentleman, who knows he's about to pick someone up and get down that night(Sorry i'm coming down from a high right now...aka unsolicited compliments). It's a lovely scent, i was stopped by a cop on my way to work and was told (You smelled like meed, but it's nice). I'll take that from a sexy cop any day. I think i found my special occasions scent. Update: I've notice only Fragheads like this fragrance.But the normal person on the street, don't like it. Because it's too different(People kept telling no they don't like it, it smells to different). I used six sprays...both wrist, back & front of my neck, chest and front of my shirt. Will I buy this again?...No.(I got the gift set along with a backup bottle...I'm set) Should You Skipped It, Sample It First or Blind Buy It? Sample it first hands down(But if you like honey & boozy like pure malt, then this might be for you)! Can you use it as a unisex scent? No! Is it the old, new or current formulation? I recently developed hobby of collecting cologne and I bought more than half of my (now) collection blindly including 18.21 Man Made Sweet tobacco. I must say when I bought it , I never used it. Just yesterday I thought to try. I wore 3 sprays. It started projecting very mild and I thought I made a mistake buying this one. None of my other blind bought failed on me so I was little bit disappointed. BUT I WAS WRONG! After few minutes, this started the MAGIC! The Sweet and Tobacco aroma just kept growing and growing and not for 1 or 2 but more than 6 hours. I had strong wiffs of it. Initially I was thinking I had less sprays but then realize even 3 sprays are more than enough! Luckily I did not spray on my cloth which I usually do! With 18.21 Sweet Tobacco, no problem of longevity at all! Lasted more than 12 hours easily! This is now going to be one of my favorite Tobacco colognes. Others are Burberry london, PDM Herod, D&G The One EDP, Al Haramain Amber Oud Tobacco Edition and JV Vintage. I love Tom Ford TV too but currently it's par my budget! I just received this product and I'm going to compare it to three of my favorite colognes currently. A) Cigar (Remy Latour) B) By The Fireplace (Replica) C) Jazz Club (Replica) A) Hands down for me, Cigar is incredible. It's masculine, sexy, and very timeless. It's got a tobacco scent to it but in a way that's not obvious. You can wear this during any season but best when it's cooler. B) By The Fireplace is the most gorgeous smoky sweet scent I've ever come across. It puts Tom Ford Oud, Mugler Havane, etc to shame (they smell absolutely horrendous IMO). It's pricey at $126 for a bottle but well worth it if you want something truly smells smokey and sweet. DEFINITELY a colder weather scent. C) Jazz Club is an incredible scent that reminds you of leather, Manhattans, and a touch of cigars. Great silage - definitely a winter scent. So I sprayed 18.21 on me and took note of what I smelled as the time passed by. Initially it's incredibly sweet...overpowering scents of honey and vanilla. As time passed, it turned into a more cigar leaf scent but one that's been dipped in honey or something sweet. It doesn't have earthy tones like Cigar does. As even more time passes by, the scent becomes very tobacco-ish. Definitely a nice scent but the sweetness still remains and is somewhat overpowering for me. Not what I expected. If the sweetness was toned down a bit...maybe by a half, this would be an excellent scent because it has so many layers as time passes by. For now I'm not a real fan. But I'll try it a couple of times to see. If it doesn't work out, it's a gift.
