Christopher Street

#1163 in my "Tour de Fragrance" This 19-69 is just "June 28" renamed. Identical notes and two retailers have confirmed the scents are identical. I just got Lucky Scents last two bottles of "June 28" and their last bottle of "Christopher Street" delivered this morning. Same scents, different name. No idea why they did it. I love the scent, so I stocked up. Masculine, oriental, but still office appropriate. Very long lasting, doesn't wash off in the shower. No rose note thank god. So no old lady vibe like so many orientals. If you hate incense you'll hate this too. But if you like that vibe in scents like Kilian's "Back to Black", MAB's "B683" at all you'll love this.

This scent doesn't just make a statement; it practically demands attention. It's strong, perfect for kicking back with cognac and a cigar, rocking a tux with an open shirt and a loosened bow tie. At first, it's spicy and sharp with that punchy black pepper and cumin. Then, it mellows into this deep, smoky richness of the myrrh. Think bold sophistication with a vintage 70s leather porn touch. With the leather note shouting 'masculine' , it morphs into this woodsy, smoky vibe with an overpowering animal-like intensity. If you're able to hang in there till the dry-down, you'll absolutely be rewarded with a woody, antique, piney myrrh.

Medicinal leather, balsamic and pungent vibes with a rubbery leathery touch. At first I was like “woah dafaq?!?” After 2 spray, I picked my leather jacket and went out for some commissions. Very intense and almost cloying. That perfume suited in the best way possible. Picked a full bottle after 2 hours. No regrets. PS: this will last a loooong time.. like 10/12 hours.. brutally sticky, in an elegant and funky way.

A really sharp and uncompromising leather. Like, let’s take animalic leather and add cumin and pepper - what could go wrong? I’m always on the fence with this one, sometimes I smell it and think I should pick up a full bottle, other times I want to wash it off. It’s impressive in a way but I definitely need to be in the mood for it. And I think the subject deserved something more seductive or playful - it’s been years since I smelled the Charenton scent of the same name but I recall it nailing the sexy/masc/retro vibe much better.

This is great if you want to smell terrible. I thought, if this were to smell bad, it would smell funky like BO, and would at least live up to the description, inspiration, and so on. I don't even know how to describe this scent. It reminds me of something I smelled when I was younger, and absolutely hated. It smells so artificial, and manufactured, and not in a cool CDG 2011 way. On the bright side, if you do happen to like this scent, I have found out that it's nearly impossible to wash off!
