Genetic Bliss

Genetic Bliss is definitely an interesting scent. I recently picked up a 10ml sample and have used it almost every day this past week. Its molecular, clean, and woodsy profile makes it the perfect scent for anything, quite frankly. At times, I'll get hit with the scent, while at other times it seems like I have gone nose-blind. An odd situation, but something I have found to love. Transitioning into the realm of molecular fragrances, Genetic Bliss is definitely a beginner-friendly and inviting fragrance that brings a decently long-lasting pleasure to the user. It's so simple and basic, helping me step back from the constant change and noise of the fragrance world today and appreciate the foundation of fragrance. Although I love this fragrance, the price point seems a little lopsided. I understand it is an art piece of a scent, but for many, including myself, I feel that toning the price down would help invite others to experience the beauty of Genetic Blisses's creation. Overall, I am impressed with my introduction to molecular fragrance and the house of 27 87. I look forward to wearing Genetic Bliss more and eventually purchasing a bottle. Edit: Genetic Bliss seems to have a wide variation of opinions on its scent, projection, notes, etc. Some seem to say it smells like burn't paper or burn't wood, but for me, is for sure more musky. Intimate to say the least, something you would wear to sleep, or if you were very close to someone. A pleasant skin scent that continues to grow in my heart. This is for sure not a safe blind buy, and a very interesting fragrance due to its individuality.

I gotta be honest here - I think 2787 scents are revolting. they are so bad I cannot imagine how people can wear them without gagging all the time. went through I think a 7-frag sample, and each and every one of them was worse than the last - except for genetic bliss. I’m recently leaning towards synthetic woody frags, and this one fits that bill perfectly. it is *completely* different from 2787’s usual “edgy” creations, it’s interesting that a perfumer capable of creating genetic bliss would also create some of the most vile-smelling frags out there. genetic bliss is mellow, inoffensive, under the radar, not flashy at all, it just sits there pretty close to your skin, waiting for someone to lean in or for you to gesture and bless everyone in your vicinity with the pleasantness of its scent - a scent which is synthetic cedar/sandalwood with a bit of synthetic oudy flair. it’s not groundbreaking or anything, it’s just pleasant, but that it is very much so. I got myself a couple of sample vials, will see if I like this after a week of wearing it layered with molecule 01, but I’ll probably get the full bottle once the samples run out.

Chemical woods done right. This is beautiful and mysterious, it is full of synthetic notes but it is really a great blend. To my nose it smells like a creamy, musky type of sandalwood/cedarwood combined with cashmeran/ iso e super, which gives a fuzzy vibe to the woods used. It's a perfect winter and fall scent, but also surprisingly good during summer despite its profile. It smells a bit like CDG wonderwood. I prefer Genetic bliss, which has something more, but that I can't point. This is the type of cologne you would turn your head to if you'd smell it randomly, because it doesn't really gives a fragrance vibe, more like a body-odor, in a really good way. The smell itself reminds me of the smell of the air in the city, when a thunder is about to occur. The performance is amazing, it stays hours and hours, and the projection/sillage plays tricks on me, it disappears sometimes and reappears randomly, with strong whiffs, even after hours. It gives me the best fragrance layering I've ever tried with Narciso Rodriguez For Him EDT. You should definitely try it.

Very nice peppery, vetiver x sandalwoody scent without being too loud but with strong penetration in the air wherever you are, even after 10+ hours of spraying. The similarities to Wonderwood (in sandalwood department) and to Tam Dao (in creamy cedarwood department) are obvious. Akigalawood signature flashes many trending perfumes at once, Bois Imperial drydown first comes to mind. With regards to @btpaulen's review below, there could be Iso-super type(s) for sure that might make it hard to smell sometimes, but there's definitely Javanol in this which is also very hard to smell but in fact being nuclear beast of an aroma chemical that smells in the air more than putting the nose close. However the price (for 87 ml) is way too much, personally I would go for Wonderwood/oud any day over this.

A really nice *abstract* scent. It's something between green-ish and wood-ish. Rather intense, when your nose *gets trained by it*(yes, this is how I would describe what's happened to me, at least; I went anosmic to this scent at one point, but now I sense it perfectly, all day.) Its intensity is somehow different from "non-molecular" frags. This one is always safe, never challenging, at least to yourself. It can be a different story for people in your environment, because things are happening *in your trail* that you may be not aware of. I often wear GB in office, and people would tell me stories about how they stumbled upon some "nice" or "pleasant" scent trail, but they would find it difficult to describe or identify it in more specific terms. As I told already, it's amazingly abstract.

Very soft. Very woodsy. Melts into skin. Not an oud fan, but this one is different. It's like you're smelling good without even trying. As if deodorant isn't necessary. Genetically blessed. So jealous! It gets slightly more bergamot-like on my skin. Zesty wood. Maybe a bit more flowery. Very cozy. This is my thing! Reminds me some other cozy perfumes. If you like this one I recommend Molecule 01, This Is Not A Perfume by blabla with guns (what's the name?), Chanel allure edp (my signature scent), Zwitsal, My Name by Trussardi, Zadig & Voltaire This is Her, Puma Flowing (discontinued absolute gem from the drugstore), molecule 234.38 by zarkoperfume.. For the Dutch: Genetic Bliss reminds me the strongest of the solid shampoo from Dutch store Dille & Kamille 'bergamot' (discontinued?).

I have already had this for almost a year and I’m still in love with it. I’ve discovered things like it smells different every time I wear it and it depends of my mood. Also I have discovered it is the ultimate layering tool, better than other “layering scents” I also have like Not A Perfume superdose by JHAG and Molecule 01 by eccentric molecules (which sadly I can’t smell at all). Genetic Bliss smells sometimes woody, sometimes like the cover of a new magazine and sometimes creamy sandalwood. When I layer it with other scents, it gives them more punch and adds that wordiness to the other scents. The price is high but, I don’t regret the purchase.

This is a woody fragrance that is so pleasing, and so popular in Amsterdam right now. It is that kind of smell that makes your head turn when you smell it on the streets. Addicting really. It smells all day, and the day after when you smell your shirt, it is still going strong. From all pheromone/skin boosting fragrances (like Not a Perfume, I don't know what, Molecule 01, Another 13), this is my favorite, simply because it is the most masculine one and although being synthetic, it has the most natural smell. It is very expensive (190 euro for 87ml), but then again: it smells expensive.

Ok this is an immediate love at first sniff for me, a molecular clean musk with creamy sandalwood. A synthetic fragrance that ends up smelling very natural, skin like and slightly earthy. This is straight down the line unisex with very soft performance and possibly the kind of fragrance that its wearers might go nose-blind to. But as a sucker for sandalwood and a sucker for clean musk, it is little surprise that I love this! Big shame about the price point! It has just dawned on me that from memory this might have a slight reminiscence to Radio Bombay by DS and Durga (another love)!

Fair warning, this is STRONG. Even if you aren't smelling it after the first 10 minutes, I guarantee you those around you are. This is due to the high concentration of synthetic wood molecules. I visited The Scent Room in LA (HIGHLY recommend) and left with multiple fragrances this being one of them. Instant love. Wooden woody wood. In the best way possible. It starts out very dry and peppery, but after an hour or two it starts to warm up and get a little gentler on my skin. I’m a fan of molecule 01 but this is way more interesting and woody and has immediately become a favorite.

Whenever I wear this perfume people stop me to ask me what I’m wearing. I want to gatekeep this so bad but I get so excited to tell them about it. This is 100% my favorite scent in the world. I don’t layer it with anything because the scent itself has so much character that it doesn’t need anything accompanying it. This is very peppery for me and very very dry. It’s a sharp scent and it works like caffeine for your nose. Absolute masterpiece and I have never nog gotten a compliment. I’m a teacher and even my kindergarteners tell me I smell amazing 🤣

I smelled this on a waitress at a restaurant and couldn’t resist asking her about it. Every time she walked by I was in heaven. Last week I bought myself a small bottle and I truly love it. The one thing about it, as with many molecule fragrances, is that you can’t always smell it yourself. So I’m questioning the longevity and silage a bit. For me it’s a very close to the skin scent, not loud or overwhelming. Like a nice shampoo or freshly washed laundry. Might become my signature scent.

Soft, sweet woods and clean musc. Smells wonderfully fresh, just enough fuzzy but not yet powdery, luxurious and very pleasant. Do not get fooled by it's softness, sillage is remarkable and very notisable, lasting power is incredible and probably everlasting on clothes. Does not smell like fir tree on me, but like an airy, slightly spicy musc without any animalistic undertones. Love the bottle.

I'm in love with this. Got a sample and loved the woody notes that would appear every once and awhile throughout my day. Very dry and airy, a thin perfume. One note is similar to Santal 33. There is a creamy aspect. A bit of the addicting quality like the scent of gasoline but with woody notes instead.

On my skin, this is identical to another favourite of mine, Fugazzi's Angel Dust. An excellent musk with synthetic woods done superbly. This smells so chic, sensual, expensive. To my nose, it is thoroughly unisex. I'd opt for Fugazzi any day, at a third of the price, though.

wow! It was love at first sniff. It is woody, slightly sweet molecular scent. I think I found that cosmic dust scent I was looking for haha. So mystical and addictive, I love it

Dry, warm, clean wood. No vanilla wood, no bergamot wood, no whatever-nonsense wood. Some may say it's linear and boring, but truly in it's simplicity lies genius.

Extremely addictive creamy woody scent. Smells soapy clean to me, blends nicely with skin but has great sillage.

I don't know what wood smells like, but if it smells like this, it smells really good.

I’m an IDKW lover and Angel Dust hater (ok I tolerate it) and unfortunately Genetic Bliss is much closer to Angel Dust in terms of how I feel about it. I honestly don’t understand the hype at all. It’s so expensive and for something that feels even more subtle than most body sprays. I think the CdG Wonderwood comparison is fair in terms of vibes/profile, but if you enjoy that I’m just not sure you’d get enough from Generic Bliss (autocorrected and I’m not even mad about it) to justify the price difference since it comes with a pretty drastic drop in detectability, which I personally find important when spending hundreds of dollars on a bottle. I literally just sprayed it again and my reaction was “is this a joke?” Edit: I may have to eat my words a bit because I sprayed this on a sweater and wore it 10 days later and the whiffs of the remnants of this were actually very pleasant. If that is what other people experience on skin I suppose I’m just jealous. It’s still fleeting but it does have an ethereal light woodiness that makes me wish I could smell it more (so ultimately still not satisfying but it’s nice haha).

I loved this perfume, had it on my wishlist and was about to purchase it using a discount I managed to get. So I tried again the sample I got. On my skin it smells light, woody, cozy. But, for the first time (I had tested before) something happened to me: during all day I have been noticing a weird taste on the back of my mouth. Something a little salty, a little bitter. I was not able to figure what was going on (even I started to worried it could been some medical issue), until my husband pointed he had that tasted too and was similar to some reaction he had trying molecular perfumes once. So, after a whole day having that weird taste on my mouth, I took a shower. The taste is gone. I am so sad because I loved this perfume so much, but that side effect ruined it for me. I have never before had such effect wearing a perfume. I only sprayed ONCE in my wrist, so it is not a overspraying case. As a friend of blind bought (I know) I highly recommend test before purchase, not only because the scent, but because that side effect that can ruin your day.

Super-mega-woody with an extra dose of wood. Topped off with wood powder. Served with wood sticks. Fully linear, disappears before becoming overwhelming just like Molecule 01, but is much easier to smell on a strip. Smells pretty similar to the synthetic oud base of Jo Malone's Oud & Bergamot. But much smoother and a bit more musky. As good and expensive as this smells, this still feels like an incomplete perfume base to me. Which is ironic, as this has 5x more ingredients than a fragrance I find complete. This leans too strongly towards wood compared to Molecule 01. Molecule hovers somewhere around cedar, sandalwood, incense, musk, citrus and fresh laundry. Where as this is seriously dry, borderline oud wood. There are no notes to lift, evolve, or bring interest. It's just wood. And more wood. Molecule brings interest by being so hard to nail down. I'll keep wearing my sample and see if my opinion changes. But so far, Molecule 01 is still the best molecular fragrance for me. And way cheaper than this as well.

I got 8 samples of 27 87 perfumes and this one is the weakest and lightest, barely-there among all. Its very close to skin and all I get is soft powdery musk (which I love, and musk works amazingly with my skin), but barely any woody notes at all (a tiny bit if I sniff my wrist very closely). Reading the reviews that it's supposed to be strong and woody and masculine makes me almost wonder if I got a lemon of a sample... Projection and silage are literally zero. I do actually love it on my skin, but it's very soft and gentle. Even when I sprayed it on the paper strip, it's still barely perceptible, especially comparing with all other 27 87 samples. This particular sample for me would be safe to layer underneath probably anything, because I don't mind being left with the soft musky powdery drydown Just curious if I am alone with the impression

I'm a little wary of super-molecule woods because I usually can't fully smell them on myself, but everything worked out comfortably for me with this one. Maybe I got lucky this time, because every note I'm getting is soft and creamy woody. That's exactly why I liked it. It sits extremely close to the skin, close enough to fall into YSBB territory actually, with that soft musk in the base again. Either way, I won't be going for a full bottle because I prefer my fragrances to have some projection and to be able to smell them on myself throughout the day. Here, burying my nose into my skin and thinking "that's nice" only entertains me for so long. The unisex nature of it and the way it reads like a light grey are both positives. Neutral overall. I smelled this for the first time on a friend. He was leaving a dense trail of hyper-woody goodness all around the house, and eventually I asked "Are you wearing something like Wonderwood or Molecule 04?". No. It was Genetic Bliss. It's completely linear and abstract, but I really like its mighty (though not loud) sillage. How does it feel? Sharp, fresh, very woody, somewhat green and peppery, with a noticeable dose of javanol, akigalawood, and more ambery-woody materials with a subtle, clean, fruity musky edge. I wore it for a whole day and enjoyed it, but then it hit me: it smelled like glue. Yes. To me, Genetic Bliss smells like glue if sniffed up close and, apparently, I can't get that feeling out of my mind. Still and all, I think this is a truly modern, unique, well executed head-turner.

Genetic Bliss has not one, not three, but FIVE captive base aromachemicals from Givaudan. This being a 'pheromone effect' perfume that the wearer can't smell well, but leaves an impression on people nearby. It is faintly woody on my skin, but after an hour or so all I can smell is an ambroxan/cetalox like amber effect. My companion, however, can smell it quite distinctly on my skin and tells me it smells very nice. I guess this isn't a perfume that can be adequately tested unless you rely on other people's noses. Moderate projection and excellent longevity - not surprising as it's full of base. Apparently it smells very nice. YMMV.

trying to decide if I like this, if I can smell it, and what it smells like. like how much do I need to overspray? I think I love it, but probably because it is so expensive, I'm telling myself it smells expensive? really, it just seems incomplete. will experiment with layering on top of musk oils or as a base to more floral scents. I don't know. sorta feels like emperor's new clothes. at best, I will say it is a cozy, barely-there skin scent, if you were a lone cedar tree in the high desert, watered by an artesian spring, growing in fertile earth full of gold.

Genetic Bliss is the best parts of Wonderoud. For whatever reason, I loved the sample I got of Wonderoud, but when I tried the full size, it didn't smell the same. Genetic Bliss is the answer! It's the part of Wonderoud that comes out after it's dried down and been sitting and mixing with my skin chem for hours. It also has intense lasting power on me - after sweating, wearing it for 8+ hours, and taking a shower, I could still smell it around me. I'm excited to use this especially in the upcoming fall and winter.

Musky opening, with the tiniest bit of aftershave. Smells like a hot guy standing next to you. After several hours—and this does last that long, and even longer, with a formidable projection—it reveals itself as a strong woody fragrance with a lived-in feel. I layered it with zesty citrus (L'Occitane Eau de Cedrat) and loved the effect, but I don't think I would ever wear this by itself. Smells like: Freshly lacquered cabinets.

This is a woody scent well blended with spicy notes (Akigalawood: woody spicy), creamy sandalwood (Javanol), light oudy highlights (Belambre: woody ambery, smoky) on a clean, green base (Moxalone: musk and Georgywood: woody fresh). Genetic Bliss is not bad, not strong, not offensive, and unfortunately not memorable. If you love patchouli based Akigalawood, try ELd'O Une Amourette Roland Mouret.

smells warm and inviting, slightly sweet woods, so fits unisex category to me. It's a pity that it's barely a skin scent :(

All I’m smelling is Molecule 04. I guess this one is just softer version. Can’t justify the price tag for this fragrance.

Smells plasticky like when inflating beach mattress, also on the moments like burnt wood.

The smell evaporates a bit too fast with me, although i do love the one note sandalwood.

Got really excited to smell this and ordered samples from Nose (highly recommend btw... shipped to US impeccably well and fast). It's an interesting light airy woody smell, not perfumie at all of course, since it's molecular. Very ozone-woody. Very abstract and non-familiar. As if one lives in a completely white house, on a completely clean, white airy, cloud-like street. When you come out of such house on this surreal street, this is how it smells outside. I like this smell in my office, as a surrounding smell, but not on me. On me, I feel like something is missing, the earthiness, the reality, the experience... But as a room smell - mmmm.. very relaxing, ozone-like experience. I will try it in colder months to see the change.

I sprayed it on a blotter, i it smelled like nothing. So i sprayed it on my skin and it still smelled like absolutely nothing. Not even a hint of anything. Even if I burrow my nose into it - nothing at all. So I sprayed the entire decant on myself and went to sleep (still not smelling anything). However when I woke up the next morning I could smell it pretty strongly, and it lasted the entire day. The smell is burnt paper, burnt wood (not campfire, but wood slightly burnt from the friction of a saw blade), plywood, glueing wood parts together. But mostly old burnt paper. Way overpriced, most of it is probably something inexpensive like iso e super

Mixed bag..."Love" at first - just "Okay" now. The smell is very appealing and sexy when you smell it the first time. Like REALLY REALLY SEXY. But it also got boring quite fast! It`s a molecule scent so it stays relatively the same throughout. After a while it might even get on your nerves - especially because of the enormous longevity and sillage. Nevertheless i have to give it a "Like".

Wood Lovers dream! starts off a nice musky ''skin scent'' smell than gradually over the course of the wearing (lasts 12+hrs) morphs into a hyper woody scent, (honestly as a woods lover, too woody for me) very realistic and reminiscent of the smell of inside a wooden clothes drawer, nice but I find the Akigiakawood and other woody notes too much in the dry down

Javanol heavy unfortunately and I dislike javanol. But once it's on my skin, it's a much tamer fragrance compared to smelling it on paper or cloth. It's definitely a beautiful composition but I don't think it's for me. I like it's texture, but not its personality. I definitely would not classify it as cozy.

Does not work on me apparently - can barely smell anything on my skin. It adds the woody notes to other perfumes if you layer, but on its own... I was even doubting if my bottle was bad cause the fragrance was very weak even after I poured it all over me.

I can’t really get much out of it on its own. But layered it definitely shines in my opinion.

I was really hyped for this one and finally got to test it out today in a small, local niche perfume store. While I generally enjoy this new wave of akigalawood-centric post-modern blatant synthetic wood creations, genetic bliss doesn't work at all for me for several reasons the most puzzling is that is ridiculously similar smelling to a disinfectant spray we use at the hospital I work at, and I mean ridiculously close (I smell it everyday so I am 100% certain of the similarity). I wonder if some terpinic wood aromachemical is chemically structurally related to some common disinfectant used in the medical field. Beyond that I don't enjoy it structurally, it's very linear, a bit piercing, and all in all not very appealing to me. The latter is extremely subjective, you may love the smell of it, just keep in mind that if you are friends with any doctors or nurses they may wonder if you have given blood today.

On my skin it smells just like a pine forrest, fresh, woody and unisex, but on my cloths it gets a more masculine scent that i don't like. It is a perfect perfume to layer on other scents, it is also a nice winter fragrance by itself, but its not for me. It also have a huge longevity. I could still smell it on my jacket that i had not used in about 5 months.
