Stunningly Modern: Lapel is my new signature scent I was completely floored to find that Lapel, a relatively new fragrance brand has have executed this scent profile better than the Italians. Lapel stays true to form, a modern, elegant, crisp and tailored fragrance for the man or woman who lives for the finer details in life, who loves the best of everything high quality. I find it refreshingly versatile, from the boardroom to the afterwork party. The quality of materials in here, the artistry of the bottle, and the pressurized atomizer all come together to paint a portrait of refinement. This fragrance lasts a great deal for an elevated fresh fragrance with aromatic touches. A must have and my new signature scent!!

This fragrance is gorgeous. I love the pineapple/woodsy profile. Somebody below me mentioned this smells like creed aventus cousin, well they’re not wrong at all. This is well blended, smooth and sharp at the same time. It’s kind of hard to explain, but once you try it you’ll understand. I encourage you to try it, get their discovery sample set.

Second sampling from 27.9 Fragrance, Lapel, part of the trio of releases that I was lucky to get samples of when meeting owner Tyrone at ScentXplore. It’s a fresh, sharp mix that interestingly blends citruses (pineapple, bergamot), spices (pink pepper, rosemary, thyme), and woods/resins. Unsurprisingly the citruses, especially the pineapple, are more fully expressed in the opening, and while it’s headier initially, it remains sharp and lively into the dry down, even a little smoky, giving (with the pineapple) a bit of a “cousin of Creed Aventus” vibe but less bright overall. It’s quite interesting. Concentration is EDP and pricing is $170 for 50ml, sold via the house website and Refinery Fragrances, among a couple of US retailers. 7 out of 10
