Another Kiss by the Fireside

Just a lovely "fireplace", homey scent with slowly unfolding cinnamon, pine, and lavender. Very hygge, very comforting, kind of sexy. An immediate favorite.

I was hoping this would be By The Fireplace but better...it was not. I don’t get a lot of the individual notes but I get a blast of harsh wood/fire which is hard to shake. There could be some rose and lavender in there but it’s overpowered. I tried to sweeten it up with some Kayali Vanilla, but was nicer for me, but overall not a love. The longevity is impressive though. I wore it to bed and could still smell it clearly 10 hours later - I don’t get that with many perfumes.

This is a very different offering from 4160 Tuesdays and unfortunately the first one from the house that I don't really like, as the opening is just too much for me. It starts with chemical citric acid and really strong vetiver for an unpleasant first 60 seconds, then it becomes rubbery, leathery and woodsy. Sometimes during my test wears I got really strong rose, almost like a really sweet rose and oud combo; sometimes the rose wasn't present at all. I prefer the dry down to the opening, which is sweeter, smoky and cosy, but this part is short lived on me. I think this would be very nice to smell on a man, but overall it's a bit too harsh smelling for me to wear, even though projection is minimal.

Leathery rose and geranium, with spice. I like the idea of it but I don't particularly like geranium so it doesn't work for me. That doesn't mean other people should be put off though. It dries down to pine and lavendar, I love the way this tells the story i just can't get over not being a fan of the opening.
