Dirty Honey

blind bought a full bottle of this and others by 4160 but this one is a big standout for me. i smelt it for the first time and my first impression is.. fucking gorgeous. i love the concept of smelling like honey, but im not a fan of sickly sweet scents. i am, however, a fan of skanky, animalic scents with a touch of sweetness. so this is right up my alley. to me this smells more like beeswax than honey. old beeswax that has dislodged from a hive and fallen to the ground. beeswax that has been left to sit and fester amongst some damp, humid soil with some remaining honey that is being eaten by birds and bears. labdanum mixed with this warm, waxy honey is just divine. it’s rich, sexy and moreish. golden, resinous and gooey. funnily enough, the perfume is a bit sticky... when i press my wrists together they ever so slightly attach to one another. love that. really really glad to have bought this just as the leaves are turning yellow and orange. this is an immaculate autumn/winter fragrance!!!! i think this is one of my new favorites.

I think this smells marvelous and my husband definitely agrees. It reminds me a little Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab's 'O' - just a little, and has that same sort of 'feel'. It is a bit dirty, which is sometimes just the ticket! Here's what Sarah has to say about it: "A change of name for my honey scent. Along our street there was a sudden spring blossoming ofMexican mock orange, tiny white flowers that wafted their delightful scent through suburbia for two weeks, then off they went. Mock orange and I have history; when I was two years old I shoved the buds from our garden shrub so far up my nose to get more of the smell that I had to get taken to the doctor's to get them extracted. It was fate. Now I know a bit more about perfume, the blossom smells to me just like dirty honey, so I make myself a version to last all year round. It's a white flower fragrance, made with beeswax and honey absolutes, woods, vanillin and labdanum, jasmine and honeybush extract."

The first notes to hit me are the beeswax and honey which remain the strongest notes all the way through. The alcohol starts to evaporate away the wonderful Mexican orange blossom now comes much more to the fore along with the jasmine, vanillan and spicey woods. I have a mexican orange blossom shrub in the back garden and I can smell the flowers fragrance here. On the dry down there is labdanum then faintly almost a peach note along with a sort of orange blossom sherberty sweetness which is Sarahs fragrance signature. Perfectly unisex as not too sweet. Ive got to say though that I prefer L'Artisan Parfumeur Seville de l'aube in cool weather but DH is fantastic is warm weather. It really smells amazing on a warm night. Do try it. The sillage is moderate and the longevity is moderate on me.

OMG! This stuff is smokin. Dirty Honey indeed. Sweet, alluring and with time down right raunchy. This is no sickly girly honey. This is what you wear with your best seduction gear. He will be nibbling your ear lobes in no time. This is so different to the batch 1 Dirty Honey though. No skank. Its warm, resinous and just a touch dirty. A real bodice ripper. I'm not sure if it is different now because I am a vegetarian. My diet is spicy fusion. Who knows! This will be contentious but for me its TF Jasmin Rouge coated in wild honey. I LOVE Jasmin Rouge. I guess it could be unisex but I think it's a confident, sexy woman's fragrance with one thing on her mind 😁 Good longevity and sillage in this 16 degree room.

I get syrupy honey, a hint of pencil shavings, and a faint sweet incense scent when I wear this one. I was torn between a ‘love’ or ‘like’ rating, but I ultimately went with love, because I felt an urge to wear this twice, and I don’t often give my ‘likes’ a second wearing (unless I’m trying to compare them to another scent). There’s something dripping-sweet about this fragrance that I find crave-able. However, I wouldn’t want anyone else to smell this on me, because that pencil-shaving & incense undertone does indeed smell a little dirty, like the perfume’s name. I agree with a previous reviewer that this is one to just enjoy all by myself.

Loving this. I'm a huge sucker for honey notes and this pulls it off really well - smells authentic and the labdanum (which again, one of my loved notes) shines through also. This house rarely makes scents I like but this one is great. Not really dirty as the name suggests though, more of a soft amber resinous honey. There is a touch of herbal undertone in the beginning but it goes quite fast - I see why some have said seville laube as a comparison but that one is much much more herbal. This is something I would consider buying. Nooooo..doesn't last on my skin :(

Beeswax still dripping honey onto your chin, after you fell off the tree stealing if from the beehive in a jasmine bush that grows over the woody barn housing nervous young colts. It can be a little challenging to wear, but it provokes the ones around you and it makes you feel a little naughty...like wearing a daring Pam Hogg outfit for dinner at the Wolseley's, with your ageing aunt and her 4th. new young Swedish husband... Nuff said

Sadly a nope for me. It smells very waxy, and not in an entirely nice way. Definitely an acquired taste for very specific skin types, because it smells not so tasty on me.

If you enjoy honey notes, try this one ASAP! FB and blind buy worthy! Side note: My second fav honey based perfume is Xerjoff Mamluk. Layer these and its perfection!!

4160 Tuesdays Dirty Honey marks another bold resinous entry from the line, after Shazam, which I tried some months ago. It's dominated by the labdanum, beeswax, and honey, with accents of jasmine and vanilla. It has a bit of a floral vibe that complements the slightly animalic side of the resins, but the overall experience is rather sweet and creamy, as one might expect. As a performer, it's strong and dense, with above average projection for an hour or two and strong longevity thereafter. At a slightly higher price than most offerings of $95 for 30ml, it's roughly in the category of needing to love it to buy it, and for my money, Shazam gets the edge, as far as resinous fragrances from the line go, not to mention its more modest pricing ($90 for 50ml). Still, Dirty Honey should be a welcome try for fans of resins in particular. 7 out of 10

Aptly named, as this is a dirty honey to begin with, but only dirty in the sense that there's a coin scent to this - like when you have a handful of pound coins. This quickly subsides and the resinous base comes through. There’s lots of labdanum which gives an amber base, especially when mixed with the beeswax. In fact, it’s this waxy amber quality which immediately reminds me of Kuumba Made’s Amber Paste. If you fancy a spray version of Amber Paste, then I’d this pretty similar. But if you like your honey sweeter and more caramelised (as this has a neutral waxy sweetness), then go for 4160 Tuesday’s ‘Captured By Candlelight’ instead. This improves over time and becomes more of a honey sponge cake with a drizzled amber glaze. It’s definitely growing on me as this dry-down is delicious!

This is my first review. I am still learning, but I'm just going to call it out as I smell it. I like complex, unexpected, unpredictable, contrasting things in general and that includes fragrances. So yes! Dirty Honey! Sweet bees and flowers mixed with something dirty. Love the concept. Upon initial spray, I get Roubitussin cough syrup, artificial cherry sweet, then a vanilla smoky-ness comes into play mixed in with what...well what just strikes me as, forgive me, old saliva. When the spit subsides, you have a kind, pleasing spicy/wood vanilla, with an tiny bit of honey. Cozy, and nice for cold weather.

I’m wearing this to bed tonight and that seems appropriate. It’s a very I intimate scent. It sits close to the skin and the dirty is a light incense smell that I keep sniffing to get more of. Interesting honey scent, subtle, powdery and resinous.

crazy burning animalic beeswax candle. i’ve been wearing this with serge lutens fleurs d’oranger this winter to give the nice florals some added warmth and funk.

Incredibly frustrating. The first time I tried this I got a smooth, golden, sugary honey cloud. The next time I tried it, I was so looking forward to experiencing the warm sweetness again. I had to double-check my vial because I though I'd accidentally applied a different fragrance...all I smelled was smoky sweat! I shook the vial, and I got some of the honey again...but I got a super boozy honey. All the gentleness disappeared. I figured I was having a negative nose day, so I wore Sweet Morphine instead. Sadly, ever since my second go at this one, I have been unable to olfactorily recapture that first whiff of delight. Now it's either armpit or booze...I'm not giving up though.

Thank you Patsi for the lovely samples, when I was researching this house this was one I mentally shortlisted. Well the list of notes sounded promising but what an unfortunate reaction this gave me. On initial sniff my stomach lurched. I smell the sharp sweetness of the honey and a medley of other notes that remind me of balsamic vinegar. Oh my gosh, is this my chemistry? After the top notes dissipate I just get the smoky honey with the dirty edge I can't put my finger on. I suspect this will please lots who are looking for something different and complex but not for me sorry. First perfume I've had to wash off because I find it so nauseous

There's something a little herbal/medicinal cough syrup-y with a buzziness in the topnotes - maybe a weird part of the labdanum???. This is weird waxy powdery scent, not honey. It is dirty - tangy, a little fecal and mushroomy. There's something in 4160 tuesdays scents that often smells weird on me. If you leave it on long enough, it's a powdery/waxy/dirty-skin/floral that's not terrible but not something I enjoy. Lovers of ELDO's Putain des Palaces might enjoy this stage, as the scents are in the same family. Overall, this scent was a strong dislike for me.

My sample from Lucky Scent arrived, and I couldn't wait to try this on the skin. The first 10 minutes were heaven! I thought the negative reviews here must have been related to a bad batch. Alas, the slightly golden and 'dirty' honey just like the name turned sour just as others noted. It must be an accidental accord as it is really unpleasant. Too bad, I was nearly in love and ready to buy a full bottle.

I just got my hands on my bottle....blind buy. I was expecting deep, oozing, dripping honey...which I LOVE. This is actually bright with my chemistry. I smell a light honey and would have sworn it had some citrus of some kind in it to make it so bright. Bright and dirty and especially HONEY....don't go together. Sad.
