Doe In The Snow

I`m a Michigan native so when I tell you this perfume has an insanely realistic snow accord... just trust me. Doe in the Snow flooded my psyche with vivid memories of shoveling dirty wet snow. I almost threw down the vial, screamed and hid under my bed.I live in Florida now and intend to steer clear of the flat, grey, hell they call the north. That was my impression from zero minus 30 seconds via a minuscule wrist swipe courtesy of my Lucky Scent tester vial. In about a minute I recognize the Chanel Christalle bubbly citrus vibe. Christalle may well have had too much of said bubbly and thought it best she spend the night over at THE IMAGINARY AUTHOR`S house.Yes you heard me.I detect just a smidgen of that unmistakable I.A. musty DNA.But where they down the entire bottle of that musty, unwearable in public places,i`m so damn niche, molecule, Doe in the Snow simply takes a shot.Thank you,I am very much into this good girl gone bad, or perhaps good girl gone niche.I`m going to take her home to live with me in Florida where we can just chill. P.S.Dry down is a sublime mix of white woods and bright leather with a nondescript floral I interpret as clover.Longevity is okay but projection is wanting.I think Tuesdays was just being nice and inclusive when they labeled Doe unisex.Note they did not call this buck in the snow.

I love this scent. My review is based on the EDP. In brief: a seductive yet playful, light yet complex, modern and intimate scent. Intimate because it doesn't blast everyone around you. It can only be noticed with any detail if somebody is standing very close to me. Peach notes stand out and blend well with the rose and cedar for me. I don't get much citrus at all. The cedar gives a subtle sharpness and bitterness to the sweet top notes and florals. These two aspects are enveloped by a soft yet lingering glamorous warm depth - the opoponax and oakmoss and leather, I think - that makes this a winner for me. This perfume is a glamorous balance of soft fruits, alluring florals (rose and jasmine are the heady yet powdery best of the florals for me), and a subtle, sensuous basenote warmth. And, importantly, it's obviously a quality concoction made of certainly at least some superior grade ingredients. No cheap synthetic thinness or chemical harshness here. Doe in the Snow is an autumnal and winter scent, I think it would feel too heavy and rich for a very warm day. I live in Scotland, where Spring is a cold season - yet sunny - and I think Doe in the Snow works well in a Scottish Spring, adding a touch of sparkling, intimate complexity to these cold, hard windy yet sunny days.

Doe in the Snow is, again, nothing like I was expecting but boy is it aldehydic. The mix of oakmoss and aldehydes reminds me a little of 31 Rue Cambon by Chanel (the jasmine also probably doesn't help with this) Both have a very elegant, but Doe in the Snow has a slightly menthol/camphor feel to it. This might be the green tea/grapefruit combination. People on fragrantica have voted Green Tea to be one of the less obvious notes but I like to think I'm good at detecting the note. Overall, it's really just a very beautiful fragrance. I want to call it a chypre, but I don't think that's quite correct - the presence of oakmoss doesn't necessarily qualify it as such. I don't know if 'snow' was the idea to smell, but I can honestly understand it if it were. It's very sparkly and beautiful in the nose. It's just the bee's knees... I gotta say. This is what an evening on the chilly town smells like, which is ironic because it seems to be working absolutely stunningly in the spring time. I would 100% buy this if I had the money to. I totally purchased a 30mL bottle

This is an amazing fragrance. When I first tested it I was not sure but Ive since learnt you have to test at least three times for an accurate assessment. Preferably test in both warm and cool conditions. Heck, over time I have learnt a lot more about how to approach a new fragrance. Its now one of my go to fragrances in warm weather. So fresh and icy cool with a fizziness that makes me think of refresher sweets. The first time the oppopanax didnt like my chemistry but now its fine. This fragrance is definitely at its best in warm weather for me. The citrus notes and oakmoss dominate but within the first hour the oppopanax, fruit and leather notes appear. It has a definitely sweetness on the drydown and thats where it remains until it fades away. The oppopanax is the last note to wain. I think its unisex but the sweetness for me makes it nudge more over to the feminine. The sillage hovers between skin scent and moderate. The longevity is very long.

I am a fan of 4160T, I have a number and I love the ones I have. I got this yesterday along with Goodbye Piccadilly. I am wearing it today and I am swooning. It's a truly gorgeous fruity chypre in a similar vein to Chanel Christelle (although the smell different they do share some characteristics). It opens with a fizzy citrus/fuzzy ripe peach blast that quickly subsides and then it unfolds into a lovely mouth-wateringly gorgeous classic chypre, this has (happily) a good dollop of oakmoss – I love oakmoss and a breathy hint of leather but more than that, it’s completely addictive. I love chypres, they are one of my favourite, if not THE favourite family of fragrances. This is just a complete delight. For anyone looking for a modern interpretation of a great classic chypre this is it. Sarah and her team are gifted and consistently delivering the goods. I only wish they did bigger bottles. Big love for this.
