Ealing Green

this is such a beautiful scent. it's a gentle green floral on me, with a powdery feel from the violet. the grass & the lavender notes are wonderful and I seem to be able to smell a hint of chamomile too, although that's not listed in the notes. I can smell the geranium quite clearly at first, but that blends in quite quickly to a gentle, calming whole. here is the description from Sarah's site - "I’d long wanted to make a scent for Ealing, my adopted home. I met my husband at Ealing Studios on Ealing Green, at a wedding. Then I was invited to make a midsummer scent for a charity evening, using plants and flowers named in Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, so I combined the two ideas and created the scent of Ealing Green on a summer evening, but in the early 17th Century." I only wish that the whole of Ealing smelled like this!

Its a gorgeous warm zingy fresh green herbal scent. I applied it to my wrist and immediately the scent expanded all around me. Gorgeous. The lavender, geranium and thyme form a wonderful cloud of herbally greeness. My only reason for holding back so long before trying EG was the geranium note which I dislike intensely. I neednt have worried. It is blended in so beautifully and perfectly enhances the lavender, violet and thyme. What an inspired combination. For me the rose and patchouli create the perfect base for these notes. They add warmth and depth. It could have all too easily been harsh and strident but its just another lovely example of how good a perfumer Sarah is.

this is such a lovely green fragrance. it’s like fresh crisp air and a flourishing garden in a bottle. opens with dewy grass, dry herbs and blossoming spring flowers. once it dries down it remains fresh and green, but becomes slightly peppery. really gorgeous, uplifting perfume to wear on hot days spent outdoors in nature. the performance is pretty good for such a fresh scent. lasts around 4 hours on my skin with gentle sillage and it doesn’t leave much of a skin scent once it’s gone.

Climbing up on Solsbury Hill I could see the city light Wind was blowing, time stood still Eagle flew out of the night This is a moment in time, it's the 70's and I'm lying , not on Solsbury Hill, but somewhere in the Midlands, and the summer holidays stretch out forever. It's the kind of smell - and scent - that was still all around in the 70's ; herbs , clover, grass . Real oakmoss. Time didn't stay still but I wish it had.

What a lovely perfume this is. For me it starts very green and herbally without much floral then turns slightly soapy. It then develops into a beautiful light powdery and effervescent floral...not a "big" floral, more meadow or wild flowers, maybe reminiscent of a sunny spring day walking round a National Trust garden! I don't know what Ealing is like as I don't know London... But it certainly smells nice!

A lovely powdery floral sweet! Thyme is the predominant note ... it's like a beautiful summer day in a park. It's a unisex scent,i also like lavender here, it gives harmony and serenity... it's all very green, a nice scent I recommend to try for those who love floral fragrances! Lush and green, just as I expected. The geranium note is a delight, it has a lovely peppery component. I love green fragrances and this really doesn't disappoint - perfect for hot days too. I find with 4160 Tuesdays that they do last on my skin. This is no exception coupled with the fact it smells really fantastic I would call this a winner.

This smells exactly like standing in a British herb garden in summer. It’s beautiful and pungent and a little bit wild. It’s not very ‘perfumey’ which makes me all the more excited about it, although it does tend really quite thymey on me as it dries down - one to avoid if you’re opposed to smelling properly herby, but I love it.

I adore Ealing Green. It smells like grass and herbs and delicate wildflowers and it last about eight hours on me. Its very good value for money and I've been wearing my bottle out and will need a new one very soon! if you like green scents, I am certain you will love this. You won't find anything like this on the High Street.

I love to wear this in spring and early summer mornings, sitting in the quiet garden away from the city buzz, reading a book or drawing. It is delicate and strong at the same time. The fresh greens and herbs, the lavender and rose and finally a bit of oak moss bite give a pick me up but also a sense of calmness.

Lovely refreshing scent, very unisex. It opens with a blast of fresh thyme and grassy notes, with some sort of citrusy element followed by lavender notes. Can't smell anything else. The longevity and projection are pretty good too, perfect for hot summer days.

Fresh and herbal without crossing over into the guy-cologne-vibe category. Although it is a floral, Ealing Green stays green softened by a very subtle patchouli and lovely oakmoss. Big thumb's up on this one. Another winner from 4160 Tuesdays.

This an uber-green, grassy, herbal fragrance that I have grown to appreciate after initial disgust. It's very powerful at first - a whopping great grass note which is absolutely amazing - so fresh, green and realistic. I found it repulsive the first few times I tried it, in retrospect because I don't think I'd ever experienced this note in a fragrance. It was quite startling! But a year or so after chucking my sample in a box and forgetting about it, I came back to Ealing Green..and it's the grass note that I now adore. There is something so fresh, almost zesty, about it that excites me. The heart of this fragrance is herbal/floral - lavender, geranium, thyme and, although it's not listed, I keep getting delicious wafts of sage. It's deeply aromatic and works beautifully on my skin in hot weather. The dry down on Ealing Green is straight up herbs and oak moss, sitting close to the skin. I can imagine this smelling insanely good on a man, although my West London-born-and-bred husband, who was intrigued by the name, pulled a 'yuck' face when he sniffed this. Definitely a unisex fragrance, anyway, and one that now happily sits in my collection.

Just found this at the back of a drawer after forgetting about it for some time (got it in 2019) I sprayed it on and remembered why I had set it aside. It’s just too strong for my nose, I have to apply it to the back of my knees or it drives me crazy with the geranium and ultra-fizzy green, I just don’t seem to get past that blast that doesn’t seem to subside. I have a similar issue at the moment with Jannah by Al Haramain, having to apply as far from my nose as possible. I don’t want to give up on it as I love the smell of plants and greenery but it’s like green on steroids for me.

Crunchy, fresh, sporty, herbacious, interesting, chatty green scent. Not for me, but as always I appreciate 4160 Tuesdays and their wild crazy daring perfumes.

Herbal with a hint of spice, the grass is not fresh cut, is wet with a sprinkle of thyme.

I’m not sure what has happened to my bottle - when I first purchased about a year back, this was a lovely green herbal fragrance. However having been unused for some months, it has now turned into a smell similar to lime pickle that you get in an Indian restaurant. I can’t go around smelling like a curry & not sure this will even work as a toilet spray. So disappointed- feels as if this is heading for the bin😕

I'm getting a whiff of dill above the greenery. Very little floral aspect and no sweetness.

A beautifully powdery herbal fragrance. I was worried it would be too masculine for me when I read the list of notes, but it's not at all. This is very unisex. It's very well blended, making it difficult for me to pick out individual notes, but the general impression is of a lazy summer day in the park, flowers blooming around you as you lie on a blanket and spot shapes in the clouds. It's a very gentle, calming scent. One that puts you in a good mood. It's perfect for summer. A great green fragrance that shouldn't offend anyone but still manages to be original. Excellent longevity, moderate sillage. As with everything else from this house, a little goes a long way.

I've been looking for a photorealistic herbal scent, and I really wanted to like this for the thyme note. It is in fact photorealistic, but to me the grass note isn't fresh grass out in the sun but wet grass that's been crushed in a mortar and pestle. The greenness reads too much like pesto to me unfortunately. It's more concentrated than airy. The other notes are gorgeous and evocative of truly being in nature-- maybe the grass is too, but I can't get the image of green grass paste out of my head. Otherwise this would have been a love.

I get dusty lemon, powdered cedar, green notes and a sweet tart flower, but it's more old fashioned powdery than I love. Reminds me very much of 1970s Jean Nate, after the initial alcohol blast, which is fierce. It’s okay, with so many things out there that I adore, I will give this one a pass.

Based on one spray of a sample it is very green and similar to Olfactive Panorama. Neither are for me. Update: Side by side with my Olfactive sample they are not that similar with this one being more floral. Neither are for me though.

I grew up in Ealing Broadway and for that reason alone I want it. It's not available in Australia so I'm going to ask my mum for the perfume for my birthday. Love the sound of the grass and spring vibes. Excited for this blind buy!

love it, really different, once you get over the initial shock of I don't know how to describe! It settles into a lovely , thyme, grass, geranium concoction which works really well.

This scent is like standing in the middle of a lush herb garden. It is uber green, peppery, strong, happy, and uplifting! A great summer scent to keep your life upbeat and on point.

Absolutely stunning and unique perfume. The scent of a long and lazy summer evening, captured in a bottle! One of my faves. Love it!
