Hush Hush

This review is of the EDP. I get a thick, fluffy dove gray (grey) cloud. It floats in the air, but hangs low to the ground. On one hand has a hint of nostalgia, and on the other, is a bit like a cotton candy (fluff) hug. I realize that might make it seem overly sweetened, it's not at all. I see the comparison to Apres L'Ondee (I've only experienced the flat bee EDT) in that I find it very soothing, yet refreshing, and is practically impossible to over apply. I don't think I perceive it like others. It doesn't remind me of skin at all. I smell ISO E Super, and what I think is Hedione but I'm not sure. I get violets but it's not the primary player, it gives it a fresh joyousness. Is it the orris butter that I find so grounding? There's also this bit I've heard Claire Sprigmore describe as a concrete dust in other fragrances. The opening is ok, but the drydown is where it's at.

I see a perfume from a niche brand with a main accords pyramid with violet and powdery and I cannot help myself but want to buy. So I got this one. 100 ml blind buy, no regret. I smell candied violets, violet candies, powder, and something chalky, gray. It's a bit more sweet than I expected but nonetheless very cute. Ultra feminine without being aggressive or annoying. All occasions wear, all seasons wear. I'll wear this one a lot.

I can hardly smell anything with this perfume. It’s so, so faint. Which is a shame as I love the accords listed.

This is so so so musky and vintage on my skin! I am not getting any of the florals at all, just musk and something deeper that smells like vintage Shalimar or Mitsouko. Not at all what I expected and I am slightly disappointed. Not that this isn't pretty, because it is and I've already gotten 2 compliments this morning. But I don't think this is one I need to keep.

Reviewing based upon the 2 ml sample gifted to me when I bought a 30 ml of Hammersmith Tea and Biscuits :) This is a vividly purple-hued, pretty fragrance. I get sweet, almost candied violets with a hint of powder. The iris is well blended so it does not stand out on its own.
