Maxed Out

A really fun and unique spring/summer scent. Very light and airy. Smells like your favourite holiday memories. Opens with coconut and what I assume is rum (I don't drink so I don't actually know) with a hint of lime. Settles into the savoury notes, strong on the cumin and cannabis. Later a new fascet of the coconut appears, blending more with the vanilla together as one note. It's not a sweet perfume. It leans heavily savoury. I was really hesitant about the cumin but it actually works really well. Blends great with the cannabis. Although, I think it might be mislablled on here. On the site it's described as "hemp," which I think is much more accurate. Smells much more like hemp cloth rather than someone rolling a joint, let alone smoking one. (So no, you will not be stopped by the gardaí for wearing this.) Upon consulting my stoner boyfriend he agreed with me. I really like how these two notes blend together. Not quite salty or leathery but not quite green and herby either. A savoury middle ground between herby and spicy. The coconut vanilla combo strongly reminds me of sunscreen and beach trips. I'm impressed by how many sweet notes they included without making this perfume all that sweet. If you told me a sunscreen-type perfume could smell savoury I wouldn't have believed you. The whisper of lime adds a fresh energetic twist. Unfortunately I don't get any coffee or tobacco. I think it does an excellent job capturing the "wild night out." It's a perfect scent for kicking off spring and looking forward to summer. Decent longevity too, a good 12 hour wear.

My second try of Sarah McCartney's house 4160 Tuesdays, Maxed Out is creation by Sarah for Max Heusler, a prominent YouTube reviewer, to commemorate his younger life of debauchery, and I for one am amazed by how many of the indulgences fit so well together in one perfume. At the opening, I'm greeted by a harmonious tropical trio of coconut, lime, and rum, followed by a dry down into more winter and stereotypically masculine elements of tobacco, coffee, and vanilla. The wildcard here is the cumin which adds its characteristic spicy, animalic vibe without interfering too much with the overall rather sweet concoction that is the rest of the fragrance. Some other supporting characters balance the fragrance out with some smoothness and softness---specifically, cedar and musk. On my skin, it dries down slightly less sweet than it opens, with the cumin in particular outlasting some of the sweeter notes, so while I enjoy the balance of the fragrance more during the first few hours, it remains quite interesting beyond that. Overall, it's sweet, boozy, slightly woody, with hints of citrus and spicy bits throughout. Performance seems pretty strong overall. It's not a huge projector but seems very resolute, not losing much steam after some hours. Pricing is higher than most of the house as this is an extrait, not an EDP, so it's $150 for 30ml, in realm of being only purchasable if you really love it, which I believe I do. Certainly one you should try if the great note list is appealing, as it does work out quite well. 8 out of 10

Maxed Out to me is the perfect coconut rum scent. I used to go for Virgin Island Water which, to me, was way over priced for what it actually is. This, however, is a strong fragrance - and I only applied a little from a dabber sample on the back of my knuckle. I applied it over 4 hours ago and it's still going rather strongly. This is a spicy coconut rum, rimmed with lime. While it smells exactly like this, it's also remarkably candy like. The vanilla in this seems to be similar to the other vanillas that are used in Sarah's other scents, but this one comes across much more sweet. The carraway is lovely, and the cannabis ever so naughty. It's a bit 'uber-masc' and reminds me of the types of men who like to drink rum drinks on the beach, and the tobacco is just intoxicating. It's totally suitable for women too, even though I think this may perhaps suit a man more. That's the first and hopefully only time I'll be saying that. I'm not entirely sure exactly why it is that people are so hesitant around this because it's really quite easy to wear (if you have the right skin chemistry, of course) if applied lightly to the chest or wrists. One spray seems to be more than enough for this. oh yeah and weed, lots of weed. obscured by rum & kind of expensive cologne. classy in any way that could be. I love it.

Wow first let me tel you that this took me by suprise, i usualy dont care for indie scent,(some exeption tauer 02 phi and couple other from slumberhouse). I bought a frangrance on indiscent and request this sample. ALONG with other from Nishane,Nothing wow me in nishane and i was realy exited to tested the line, But this capture all my attention i put it on arround 11am in the morning got the rum coconut and bozzy feel last for a good 5-6 hour on my skin,after got a mix with what is called marijuana essential oïl that feeling is almost same with patchouli so its easy to mix these note,on the drydown i get a complex of dry wood almost oud vibe the drydown make me think of nasomatto black afgano but less powdery,12+ hour on my skin This is by far 1 of the most complex scent i came accross only few perfumer can do this with scent,and this is the reason that caught me by supprice i wasnt expecting this complexicity +quality ingredient use here,i bought a botle right away..... this is up there can batle against the big guns in termof quality and complexety amouage jubxxv,Xerjoff Richwood to name a few, Good Job MAx husler scent: first 3-6hours 10/10 scent:6-15h 9//10 projection:7/10 complexety:11/10 overall 9.5/10 winner in my book!

The Rum, coconut, and the cumin are conquering with that vanilla and tobacco calming essence. I can smell a cozy captivation lightened at max to soften the juice all the way on a plotter, BUT when i sprayed it on my arm!! damn that is CUMIN OVERDOSE! and it remained till the end! I hope the cumin weren't that strong. It would've been quite amazing and captivating if it wasn't for that overdose cumin. Pity. Edit (20th Sept 2016) WT...! what i have witnessed with my previous decant wasn't enough for me to realize the charm it brings! This is a delicious naughty blend! Coconut, rum, vanilla and sweet creme mingled in a bag made of cumin. Honestly, this is SUPERBLY alluring to my senses, it feels like a slight animalic with a dozes of elegant sweets and desserts. No wonder it got nominated! BRAVO Sarah.
