Maxed Out

A really fun and unique spring/summer scent. Very light and airy. Smells like your favourite holiday memories. Opens with coconut and what I assume is rum (I don't drink so I don't actually know) with a hint of lime. Settles into the savoury notes, strong on the cumin and cannabis. Later a new fascet of the coconut appears, blending more with the vanilla together as one note. It's not a sweet perfume. It leans heavily savoury. I was really hesitant about the cumin but it actually works really well. Blends great with the cannabis. Although, I think it might be mislablled on here. On the site it's described as "hemp," which I think is much more accurate. Smells much more like hemp cloth rather than someone rolling a joint, let alone smoking one. (So no, you will not be stopped by the gardaí for wearing this.) Upon consulting my stoner boyfriend he agreed with me. I really like how these two notes blend together. Not quite salty or leathery but not quite green and herby either. A savoury middle ground between herby and spicy. The coconut vanilla combo strongly reminds me of sunscreen and beach trips. I'm impressed by how many sweet notes they included without making this perfume all that sweet. If you told me a sunscreen-type perfume could smell savoury I wouldn't have believed you. The whisper of lime adds a fresh energetic twist. Unfortunately I don't get any coffee or tobacco. I think it does an excellent job capturing the "wild night out." It's a perfect scent for kicking off spring and looking forward to summer. Decent longevity too, a good 12 hour wear.

My second try of Sarah McCartney's house 4160 Tuesdays, Maxed Out is creation by Sarah for Max Heusler, a prominent YouTube reviewer, to commemorate his younger life of debauchery, and I for one am amazed by how many of the indulgences fit so well together in one perfume. At the opening, I'm greeted by a harmonious tropical trio of coconut, lime, and rum, followed by a dry down into more winter and stereotypically masculine elements of tobacco, coffee, and vanilla. The wildcard here is the cumin which adds its characteristic spicy, animalic vibe without interfering too much with the overall rather sweet concoction that is the rest of the fragrance. Some other supporting characters balance the fragrance out with some smoothness and softness---specifically, cedar and musk. On my skin, it dries down slightly less sweet than it opens, with the cumin in particular outlasting some of the sweeter notes, so while I enjoy the balance of the fragrance more during the first few hours, it remains quite interesting beyond that. Overall, it's sweet, boozy, slightly woody, with hints of citrus and spicy bits throughout. Performance seems pretty strong overall. It's not a huge projector but seems very resolute, not losing much steam after some hours. Pricing is higher than most of the house as this is an extrait, not an EDP, so it's $150 for 30ml, in realm of being only purchasable if you really love it, which I believe I do. Certainly one you should try if the great note list is appealing, as it does work out quite well. 8 out of 10

Maxed Out to me is the perfect coconut rum scent. I used to go for Virgin Island Water which, to me, was way over priced for what it actually is. This, however, is a strong fragrance - and I only applied a little from a dabber sample on the back of my knuckle. I applied it over 4 hours ago and it's still going rather strongly. This is a spicy coconut rum, rimmed with lime. While it smells exactly like this, it's also remarkably candy like. The vanilla in this seems to be similar to the other vanillas that are used in Sarah's other scents, but this one comes across much more sweet. The carraway is lovely, and the cannabis ever so naughty. It's a bit 'uber-masc' and reminds me of the types of men who like to drink rum drinks on the beach, and the tobacco is just intoxicating. It's totally suitable for women too, even though I think this may perhaps suit a man more. That's the first and hopefully only time I'll be saying that. I'm not entirely sure exactly why it is that people are so hesitant around this because it's really quite easy to wear (if you have the right skin chemistry, of course) if applied lightly to the chest or wrists. One spray seems to be more than enough for this. oh yeah and weed, lots of weed. obscured by rum & kind of expensive cologne. classy in any way that could be. I love it.

Wow first let me tel you that this took me by suprise, i usualy dont care for indie scent,(some exeption tauer 02 phi and couple other from slumberhouse). I bought a frangrance on indiscent and request this sample. ALONG with other from Nishane,Nothing wow me in nishane and i was realy exited to tested the line, But this capture all my attention i put it on arround 11am in the morning got the rum coconut and bozzy feel last for a good 5-6 hour on my skin,after got a mix with what is called marijuana essential oïl that feeling is almost same with patchouli so its easy to mix these note,on the drydown i get a complex of dry wood almost oud vibe the drydown make me think of nasomatto black afgano but less powdery,12+ hour on my skin This is by far 1 of the most complex scent i came accross only few perfumer can do this with scent,and this is the reason that caught me by supprice i wasnt expecting this complexicity +quality ingredient use here,i bought a botle right away..... this is up there can batle against the big guns in termof quality and complexety amouage jubxxv,Xerjoff Richwood to name a few, Good Job MAx husler scent: first 3-6hours 10/10 scent:6-15h 9//10 projection:7/10 complexety:11/10 overall 9.5/10 winner in my book!

The Rum, coconut, and the cumin are conquering with that vanilla and tobacco calming essence. I can smell a cozy captivation lightened at max to soften the juice all the way on a plotter, BUT when i sprayed it on my arm!! damn that is CUMIN OVERDOSE! and it remained till the end! I hope the cumin weren't that strong. It would've been quite amazing and captivating if it wasn't for that overdose cumin. Pity. Edit (20th Sept 2016) WT...! what i have witnessed with my previous decant wasn't enough for me to realize the charm it brings! This is a delicious naughty blend! Coconut, rum, vanilla and sweet creme mingled in a bag made of cumin. Honestly, this is SUPERBLY alluring to my senses, it feels like a slight animalic with a dozes of elegant sweets and desserts. No wonder it got nominated! BRAVO Sarah.

I purchased this after buying having a sample of the old reformulation. It is no longer exactly what I loved. It's pleasant, there's no denying that. Without the cumin b.o aspect, it is no longer Ordell... no longer a sweaty street hustler... but instead a mildly perfumed dealer who delivers in an upper class neighbourhood. They go to a good university and study fine arts. It's really nice, but a bit of that Jackie Brown aspect is gone and I think I miss it. I used to compare this scent to Bobby Womack's Across 110th Street, but now it's more Doja Cat's Juicy. Bizarre to think of it this way. May have to come back later with new thoughts. I'm not disappointed. It is still, however, primarily a rum scent with a pineapple undertone and weed / tobacco in the background. Just classed up.

Sweet raspberries and sour lime, leather, cumin, booze, coconut, and a tantalising hint of the illicit. This one bites back. And damn, its so good! I have to say, I find it very, very sexy - either on a man, or wearing it myself. An incredible fragrance, a real mood-shifting experience to wear, with longevity to see you right through the most raucous of parties and well in to the early hours. He said it smells like chapstick and I get where he's coming from - there is a slight hint of Carmex, an almost mentholated quality to it. I wore it out to dinner once, but somehow this scent is just not compatible with eating. Definitely not one for a nice meal out - this one's strictly for drinks and debauchery.

Woah. This is a heavy hitter. You may see the rum and coconut and think this is a playful Pina-Colada Virgin Island Water style fragrance but this much much darker and more debauched. Very expensive smelling, rich Tobacco, Rum and Cannabis. Coconut gives it a gourmand vibe and a great Coffee note as well. This is the rare scent that tells a story while being a complete, wearable perfume. I haven't worn this out but I wonder if people will just think its a dark gourmand and not get hung up on the slighly camphorous Cannabis note. I hope so because this perfume is too good to be relegated to the ' smells like weed' oddity shelf. 9 out of 10. The Crown Jewel of 4160 Tuesdays.

A very original take on Cannabis, this one is a candied Cannabis leaf, maybe the overall effect is rendered by coconut , which is so well blended that it does not give the horrible suntan lotion effect, it's more a coconut water than the flesh of the fruit itself, and the rum and vanilla notes. I did not detect cumin. On me it lasted not less than 24 hours. It's a very chic gourmandish creation, unisex, this one could well belong to the Thierry Mugler "Pure..." series and it might have been called "Pure cannabis". The other one I own from her line "the dark heart of Old Havana" is more predictable and less refined. Kudos to Sarah McCartney, for me this one is 10/10

When I first tried this I wasn't keen but it's turned into a love. I must have tried it when it first came out. I admit my tastes have changed. I get the cumin, booze, coconut, cannabis and tobacco all at once. A swirling smoky, herbal and coconut brew. I'm thankful I don't get any body odour. It's potent but I love it's warm, herbaliciousness. There is nothing, harsh or abrasive. Very unisex. I guess some ladies wouldn't warm to this. You do get a woody vanilla sweetness in the background. I get above average sillage and longevity. It's definitely a scent for chilling out in. The coconut does make me think of sunnier climes. Now I fancy a mohito.

A spicy and herbaceous parfum... there is something unusual here,the beginning resembles a bit like Angel man by Thierry Mugler, cumin and cannabis are very evident, but in a very soft and velvety way... it's sweet but not too much, it keeps itself in the right balance. Definitely a special fragrance for special occasions or evenings. Thumb up for this! Sillage: 7.5/10 Longevity: 8.5/10 Scent: 8.5/10 Overall: 8.5/10

When I first heard that a favorite YouTube reviewer was getting his own fragrance I had to pick it up. This is really good stuff. This collaboration between Sarah and Max was a home run. You can pick out every note in this fragrance through out its life. One garauntee is that you won't smell like anyone else. Brilliance is back in perfumery and this is the scent that takes it to that next level. 10/10 in my book.

Wow I really like Maxed Out by 4160 Tuesdays! I smell the coconut, the rum and vanilla. Actually, I smell a Piña Colada. I don't smell any of the other notes on the pyramid. To me anything with coconut smells good. It is very sweet, so go easy on the trigger. It lasts a long time.

This is something very special. I find myself drawn to its beautiful strangeness. The aura after the opening can't be described as a scent, more like a vibration or the essence of a wild night. A very wild night.

Buyer beware not a safe blind by whatsoever. This fragrance comes off as of subdued dank musk and cumin that reminds me of visiting my uncles house in the mid 80s. Open starts off with a nice rum and lime note which is fleeting yet the only highlight of the frag which transitions to a drydown that is nothing more than musk, and not a good musk accord lathered in 5 year old cumin from the back of the cabinet. Sort of like a rotten coconut and animal musk after playing beach volleyball ball for a couple hours. The vibe is so off that I can't wear this for any occasion not even a daring touch to a compliment a night of debauchery . Simply because it's not even daring.. its not reaching for anything because it's full of faults. It's simply the mix and measure of a lifestyle of one of my favorite fragrance reviewers seen through the lens of a pedestrian onlooker. It's just "Blah"! If you can pull this off then hats off to you.

What I'm about to say will mean something outside of randomness...This smells precisely like the ubiquitous stench associated with your neighbors living room; musty, boozy, cigarette smoke to the max. *Fair warning* Ladies, don't fall for the unisex tag placed with Maxed Out. What you COULD fall for is the man WEARING Maxed Out for he would be an interesting individual. This is a smart fragrance. It knows its purpose and being part of a sillage war isn't one of them. This falls somewhere in the middle of being a glorified natural body odor to the worlds sexiest smoke alarm. If anything, this should absolutely be sampled. If indeed this works with your skin, it can be a really unique thing.

I am really liking this one...I get the rum, tobacco, and coffee right off; as well as the cannabis and wood. The musks and vanilla start off in the background, but after time, they get stronger and the cannabis and wood fade a bit. I never got the coconut and lime as specific notes, but they may have been there as part of the overall orchestra. Overall, it is a sweet, boozy, decadent scent. And even though I find it a bit too masculine for me to need a full bottle, I still enjoy it, and other ladies might be able to rock it more. And of course, men should definitely give it a shot--it would probably be awesome on a guy!

I absolutely hated this about 6 months ago but now this has to be one of the most gorgeous/unique things I put my nose on in a while. I never was a fan of Cumin and I think thats what put me off the the first time around. I'm so glad I held on to my sample. I guess if I could change anything at all it would probably be turning down the cumin a couple notches.

I've had this sample for a while and tried again as I believe in going back, I didn't like maxed out when I first tried it but a few months later I now get liquorice and rum coconut and vanilla. Maxed out smells intimate and close to my skin,longevity has been both short and long lasting (patted on with my fingers). Not in love but may become close friends.

The cumin is very prominent, rendering this nearly unwearable for me. It is actually similar to Angel (on my skin) in it's dark sweetness with a touch of BO. A pity, the notes looked lovely! Also, this leans masculine- I think a guy could pull this off, even with the touch of BO.

Gave this a scathing review inn2015.... after revisiting my flavon 5 years later...it ain’t so bad. Smells of cannabis, rum and patchouli. The cumin has died in the bottle over time. More round less stank. Almost like a rum and coke!?!? Lmao not bad after masuration

According to Sarah she's reformulated it, dialing down the cumin skank. Sounds like it might now be more wearable for many of us.

I received this through my Hoohaa subscription so it was even more than a blind buy. I'd previously received two stunning flower sex bombs, so this one is a bit puzzling. In short, I smell like a high end men's bathroom. It also illustrated to me how ones family and friends have an expectation of how a person 'should' smell, and on me, a lover of all flowery, animalic and heady, this was like being dropped into the Polar zone in a bikini! Don't misunderstand, I think the fragrance is very complex, exceptionally interesting, and is still here after 20 hours, though with only a trace of lime. First spray, and after my initial sniff I couldn't go near my arm for an hour; so offensive was the smell to me. It dried down into something so clean and true, it made me seriously question my nose - No cannabis, but lime, cumin, a tiny hint of coconut still in the shell, and cedar. All the listed notes have danced around as the day went by, but ultimately it's dried to sweet lime. And because my family all said that I don't smell 'right' and recoiled from me, I'll be offloading my sample to my Grandson because ultimately, I feel this is a masculine aftershave.

This is an interesting one. I wish I could get more rum and coconut out of it, since that's what I was looking for. Instead I get the initial cumin smell and then it really does resemble Angel without the chocolate and patchouli, which I kinda like since I'm not a big Angel or Muegler fan. This doesn't have the 4160 DNA, but in this case that's okay. I could see it being good on a man, maybe layered with Fresh Cannabis Santal.

I can understand how this might smell nice on others but on my skin I get a lot of cumin and cannibis. It is not a bad smell but it is a little overpowering. I guess the best way I can summarize this fragrance is that it is challenging.

I’m not a fan, the coconut is too strong, it’s definitely not a blind buy. Jumbled up fragrance that doesn’t commit to any particular note apart from coconut. Not for me.

Rum, Coconut, Lime, Tobacco, Coffee, Cannabis Essential Oil, Vintage Musks, Vanilla, Cumin, Atlas Cedar Okay......this is a definitely a different aroma. I almost feel like I'm packed in an elevator with one part Granola crowd, one part Rastafarian and the other an assortment of suit and tie guys just coming from a meeting. The first few minutes after application, the contrast of coconut, Lime, Cedar and Ash is a bit eyebrow raising for me. I don't mean the strength, just the aroma. I don't like it, nor do I dislike it. It's weirdly different and maybe just a hair off putting. On the other hand, some of you out there may love this conflict of notes. It does calm down rather quickly and manages to integrate the coconut a bit better once the heart accord commences. The standouts on my skin are the tangy Coconut and ashy Tobacco. The juxtaposition is eclectic and this is accented with Cedar. I suppose it's simply a grouping of notes I haven't experienced before and the longer the wearings ensue, the more comfortable I become with it. Any contributions from other listed notes here are minor, at best, on my skin. Perhaps your skin will permit other notes to bloom better than mine did and perhaps they won't. You won't know until you try it. Maxed Out is an Extrait. I find it full bodied and close. Sillage is average with longevity approximately 5 hours before I'd consider reapplying. I'm going to give this a thumbs up, not because I love it or even like it. Maxed out is off the beaten path and dared to take a chance......even if it wasn't a very big chance. I highly recommend a sample wear before purchase on this one. Who knows.......you may not want to get out of the elevator.

Fragrantica's description of Maxed Out leaves so much out. According to Fragrantica, Maxed Out is an "Amber Vanilla fragrance for women and men". According to 4160 Tuesdays, it was inspired by a former wild child's nights out in New York that involved cocktails, marijuana, hookers and passing out. I can't comment on the hookers, but I certainly get the scent of cocktails (dark rum and lime, sweet and heavy). I can't detect the marijuana or any tobacco, but I can smell the man at the end of the night, crashing out on rumpled sheets in someone's bed, sorely in need of a shower and doomed to the worst hangover. I do wonder, however, whether there are some elements in this most complex perfume that some people are anosmic to. joseph,matthias.young describes this as a simple scent and my husband could barely make it out on my wrist but I'm clearly not the only person who thinks it's a monster. This is a masterpiece of storytelling and not like anything else I've ever tried. If you have any interest in perfume, you have to try it once.

Regardless of the whispers below that this isn't a unisex fragrance, this could quite easily be worn by either gender. It is not, however, a safe fragrance by any definition. Does it actually smell of rum an' weed? Most assuredly. Is that a good thing? I don't know ... depends on whether or not you like those scents. Paired with this is the smell of sweat. Most likely a man's. Still unisex at that point, in my opinion, due to its sweetness and almost candy-like vibe. The rum accord immediately makes me smell pineapple although it probably isn't there. It's probably the mixture of bergamot and coconut. It lasts quite a long time, sticking around for 12+ hours and kicks on strongly for roughly 9 of those hours. Intense sillage which is either a plus or a negative. Probably not work safe for that reason. Unless you happen to be a weapons dealer named Ordell.

Sweet coconut, tart lime rind, and dusty, smoky book pages. Something phenolic and round cups all these so that they coexist really smoothly but somehow pop up individually before bowing out to let the other shine loudest. It kind of undulates on my skin like this for awhile until settling into a sugared coconut flesh and coir, or, alternately, a box of crayons. The cumin never comes out off my skin enough to be straight cumin. It just makes this a dark, brooding coconut. I won't wear it out, it becomes too masculine, but I will revisit the opening of this alone over a book or a movie for the pleasure of it, as well as introduce it to the guys in my life.

This is a very simple smelling scent. I found a sample several years ago and just going by memory on this one, since I noticed I never made a review. It's mainly a sweet, coconut suntan lotion-type scent if memory serves me. I didn't like it one bit. It's one of those terrible scents where you smell it, and instantly it covers everything with a persisting, haunting odor that is very simplistic, like the happy birthday song. I don't remember rum or weed smells. Just generic coconut/tobacco/cedar maybe? Repellent.

I've only worn this once, but first thoughts are that there is way too much going on here. Boozy fruit, vanilla, coconut and cumin top notes were all strong and fighting for recognition in a big, jumbled bun fight, then a rapid drydown to oily, candied cannabis that didn't seem at all in keeping with the first stage of the fragrance. I was left feeling confused and a little bit dirty. Maybe that was the intention (ha)? But it doesnt work for me.

Strong cannabis, bit of wood and lime. Nice scent at first but then gets too strong and gives me a headache but I couldn't wear this anyway, it smells too strongly of cannabis which is illegal in my country. Owning this perfume would be perfectly legal but being stopped because I smell of weed is hassle I don't need.

Just Got A sample: its smells nothing like any scent I encountered before , its not D&G the one or your middle of the road gourmand fetish. This like smelling the armpit of an alcoholic out of his mind weed smoker. in simple words boozy skank. projects like a psycho , its insane!!. Cheers.

Heavy duty hippie house, not sure about the coconut on this - it makes it a bit "dirty" for me, a bit sweaty. Without the coconut, it would have made more sense, unless, of course, that's the vibe you're looking for, in which case, it's a resounding success. But not for me thankyou.

Oriental vanilla is a bit misleading I'd say caribbean holiday reality. Smells like one of those local dudes at the beach / market in the caribbean - the ones that will try to sell you anything from coconuts to weed. Whafts of coconuts rum weed and sweaty armpits. Mmm - mmm. :D

Scent - coconut-lime, brownies & cumin. Season/Time of Day - I prefer to use this one in the colder months, during the day. Projection - I did get noticed, it garners compliments. Longevity - I get 8hrs consistently.

Pina colada time. Coconut is prominent. Sweet but not overly with Cumin in the mix. Performance average, definitely not a projection monster. Easy to wear for any occasion.

I ordered a sample of this to try.. Wishing I hadn't as it smells like an old lady prostitute who uses tons of hand sanitizer and this perfume. Eww

Strange fragrance, I'm smelling crayons. Haven't figured this one out yet.
