Mother Nature's Naughty Daughters

Smells like roses and gushers candy. I tested it on myself for the first time before a shower because I really cannot tolerate most florals. This is an exception, it’s wonderful. I spent the rest of the day thinking about this scent and wishing I didn’t wash it off. It’s quite jammy and sweet, so I can see how it may not be for everyone, but it’s definitely a winner for me and on my list to purchase a full bottle of.

This one opens by serving you a jam sandwich, which seems bright, youthful, and playful. The rose heads in, bringing more sophistication, though it never seems too grown up or stuffy. The base notes keep it grounded, without ever overpowering the femininity of this fragrance. I quite enjoy the largely strawberry-rose scent that lingers.

I love this. Opens with a slightly bonkers blast of blackcurrant and pear and then almost immediately starts to settle down into creamy, malty, earthy, woody goodness, but the best part is the blackcurrant note keeps showing up again from time to time on me. It lasts for ages, too. It smells like outside in the best possible way.

I have two bottles of this as I have to have a back up. It's gorgeous. Several people have asked me what I was wearing because they loved it.

I am half way through the first run of the 4160 Tuesdays sample box and I have decided that although the idea, style and concept of what Sarah McCartney does, I should avoid their scents that feature fruity notes. Not because there is anything technically wrong with them, but because that thick rosy/powdery base (if it is a base?) that I termed 'Lushiade' they share with Lush bath and scent products make it hard for me to distinguish anything else. This opens up with blast of lush (and Lush) strawberry which I don't like in a fragrance. Other fruits are there too, caramelised pear is noticeable for example; and also a jammy (syrupy) rose. As well as a lot of powdery notes. It gets a little less sticky with time, but still just to jammy for me, especially as any moss or chypre-like bitterness is just too hidden for my sense of smell. All in all, it's very nice in its own way, and I'd VERY happily bathe in this, but as a fragrance is just TOOOOOOO Midsummer Night's Dream for me. In this sense, I think it accomplishes the perfumer's objective. I've rated as 'like' but it's just under 3 out of 5 kind of 'like'. *** Eight hours after applying and after washing up, washing hands, scrubbing carrots and chopping onions, and it's still there, mellowing into a sweet and rosy and maybe just a tiny bit mossy softness. So, longevity on this of this fragrance is mega impressive so far. I'd say my rating is a solid 3/5 at this stage and if someone gave me a bottle I'd keep at least half of it ;) It's should have been called "Gran Titania".

A warm and fruity liquid, almost a Diorama vibe. Of dark fruits and light spices, a little boozy, but it quiets down very quickly and I don’t smell it in air around me at all. A slight plasticity appears but doesn’t dominate the scent. The scent itself opens lovely and rich and would be fully wearable but I’m not sure there’s enough there there for my purposes to invest in it. On me, it’s nearly a skin scent within 10 minutes and the opening richness remains as just a trace with a slight plastic dimension. Because this vanished so quickly, I applied an unscented lotion over it and that has gotten rid of the plasticity and returned it to its richer, dark and warm spiced fruit open. Still wears incredibly close to the skin, but a very nice choice if this scent profile is your thing and you prefer more intimate scents. This dries down after 4 hours to a warm and comforting stewed fruit with a hint of cedar in the background.

Mother Nature's Naughty Daughters is a delectible and mooreish fruity sweet fragrance. It opens with Blackberry, raspberry and honeyed malt. Strawberry and a musky rose join the decadence in the body. Fruity and sweet without feeling syrupy at all. The base is a woody, ever so slightly salty and animalic ambergris with a fougere note adding an element of naughtiness that will leave you coming back for more. This is is a fun and playful fragrance that would suit casual day outings and times when you're feeling a little bit cheeky and sexy.

Very natural, fizzy berry compote, I don’t usually like fruit based scents but 4160 does such a good job that I wanted to take it for a test drive. Mother Nature's Dirty Daughter has a grounded, earth vibe. It reminds me of digging around in the garden in the spring, Getting about 3-4 hours of life from this interesting scent, which in my opinion is perfectly acceptable. I like it and I’m looking forward to the next time I wear it. Kudos to the perfumer.

This is a lovely, malty/honeyed/nutty gourmandy fruity floral with smoothness & depth. Opens with a slightly sour note which smooths down fairly quickly leaving you with hints of smoke and incense with the fruit and sugar. I get a lot of pear and hazelnut in the heart. Its like a lovely, decadent dessert in a boudoir-like richly decorated viennese coffee house with chandeliers and rococo furniture.

This is a lovely fruit bouquet, which I enjoyed the opening of. It only lasted a couple of quiet hours on me, which I found disappointing. EDIT: It starts with an almost sherbet-y fruitiness, which is really lovely. However, as per my first try, it just doesn’t last longer than a couple of hours on me. I wanted to love it 💔

Wonderful and lovely, a gourmand, sweet floral and berry scent. The opening has a fizzy quality, settling down into a complex rose with supporting players—notes I can’t individually identify. Naughty Daughters is a lot of fun, a scent I’d like to hang out with again.

This is a beautiful jammy rose. It's in the same vein as Manakara but it doesn't go in a tropical direction, so I would consider it more suitable for fall & winter (even spring).

Starts off very rosy and jammy but as it dries down there is a woody note. It sits quite close to the skin and I wish it lasted longer.

253 This one was hard to figure out at first spray. The second time, it hit my nose with fresh herbal fruits and berries, which I liked a lot. Unfortunately the lovely opening didn't last long. The only thing that didn't work for me is that 4160 musk that's used in all scents I've sampled/ bought from this house. In this case, maybe it's a soapy musky rose...I could do without the musk! 7/10-it's okay, nice opening, does stay a while on skin and the berries intensify.

sampled from indiescents.com I had a body spray from Aubrey Organics a few years back in a 'berry' scent and it smelled almost the same as this. As for Mother Nature's Dirty Daughters, there really was something dirty in it. I liked the berries in the opening (that was all I got, definitely no praline for me, sadly), but what was left on my skin was a bitter, dirty smell. Disliked for that reason, but also for poor longevity (4 hours on me) and projection (2 to 4 inches).

A light, sweet floral offset by zoo display. I see where this is trying to go: carnal, sexy, feminine. For me, it’s a miss. I’ve tested this several times over the years and I just can’t get into it. I have Salome, which I think is doing the same sort of thing, but doesn’t f*@& about. It gets right to the lurid point. MNND is a lightweight comparatively- which may be just what you’re seeking.

I have a sample of this but find it too sweet, sweet and fruity perfumes just don't work for me. It is better as it dries down and it reminds me of the sort of wax you use for leg waxing or wax polish which is quite a pleasant smell but maybe not as a perfume.

Fruity, jammy rose is the star here. Well blended, sweet, fresh. Just too floral for my taste. Review of official spray sample that came free with purchase.

I have a sample of this and I cannot make up my mind yet on how I feel about it. There is something about it that is very thick and dense (like me lol!), the visual impression that I get is of a dark wooden bowl filled with a very thick syrupy dark red jelly (I think "Jello" for our American cousins?) that is not completely set, but which hides something black and slightly bitter/medicinal at the bottom which is barely perceptible through the thick barely translucent jelly against the dark wooden bowl; you kind of know it is there but it really is only a shadow of it's unknown form that is visible. I find this slightly unsettling for that reason. I had wondered if that note giving me this impression could be an our note although none is listed. But it has that kind of opulent richness a hint of good quality oud can bring. Perhaps it is the cedarmoss? There is a very rich fruity syrupy sweetness to this, which does for me threaten to become cloying at times, although thankfully it narrowly avoided crossing the line for me. The fruits however remain strong and prominent throughout the duration of wearing this pefume, becoming only slightly more abstract as time goes on. It reminds me actually of stewed or pureed fruits, with the perfume from opening to late drydown taking us through the steps of cooking the fruits, from a juicy ripened berry and pear mix set in a pan on the hob, the sugar being added, and the whole lot slowly over time simmering down from solid pieces into a thick textured syrup of soft fruit. The effect is not totally dissimilar to that of Sadanne from Slumberhouse except with blackberries and pears as well as strawberry, but Sadanne came straight to my mind upon wearing this, especially with the rose component which plays a big central role here too in MNND. I guess the malt note is also responsible for some of the heady richness and thick sweet molasses type texture. It is something of a challenge and puzzle to me, this fragrance. It contains several notes on which I am not overly keen, and plays heavily upon those aspects of them I usually dislike, particularly the fruits and the rose notes. And yet there is something strangely compelling here that draws me back, and at times there is an almost comforting warmth and coziness too. Can this be attributed to my mother frequently making jars of homemade jam when I was a child, the sweet heady sticky aroma permeating the entire house and lingering for days as she cooked down pan after pan of sweet ripe fruits and filled glass jars that sat firming up on the windowsills and counter tops? Maybe the malty notes conjure the yeasty malty scent that was my grandparents house when I was little, when Grandma handmade fresh bread every day, and Granddad brewed up his own beers and stouts in the little bedroom? I need to spend more time with my sample of this and try and work out whether I actually like it and could wear it as a perfume. It is clear there is something about this which draws me and compels me to return to the little spray vial, and it definitely conjures some vivid imagery and reminiscences of my childhood. I am just not sure whether I actually like it as a perfume!! One last comment, for those who prefer such information; this is a well blended and accomplished scent from a talented perfumer and has excellent longevity, lasting around 10-12 hours as far as I can tell from experiments to date. It seems to have a large sillage cloud, when sprayed on test strip and placed on the side in my bedroom, it filled the entire room with its scent, and single sample spray to forearm generated wafts and swirls of perfume for many hours.

Interesting floral gourmand cornucopia full of roses and late summer fruits, oh!, and hazelnut flour powdering the whole opus! It makes me mouth water and yet it's not too sweet or syrupy on my skin, I think it must be the counterparting effect of malt and hazelnut- maybe a tiny little bit of misterious patchouli? Anyway, hazelnut: it is surprisingly not mentioned in the above pyramid, but it's definitely there, and it is also listed in the official site. I ended up with a good 30ml bottle and I preferibly enjoy it in cold days.

Opens with a strong berry and black currant combination. It is saccharine and reminds me of thick, fresh berry jam sitting on the kitchen counter with a container of fragrant powder just inches away. Mild rose. Then it introduces a berry-flavored cough syrup smell - at this point, I am really not into the fragrance. The dry down evokes more wood and less berries, although the black currant note continues to play softly in the background. The powdery scent sticks around until well into the dry-down.

Ohhhh Myyy!!!! My 3rd 4160!! This is like.....every female thats sniffd me has told me about it!!! My friend wanted a decant....I told her no as I knew I had my 5ml in the car relaxing in the glove compartment. NOOOO. This is lovely period. Sweet oriental incensy rose on my skin. Has a slight resemblance to Aerins Evening Rose.....but sweeter, creamier, smoother.....Review soon!!!

Powdery rose with a malt undertone, as if I was wearing talcum in a rose garden with dewy roses, ale sitting on a distant table waiting, and fruit trees nearby. Very pretty, natural with the black current in more evidence in the drydown. Wanted to try this one for the strawberry note, but it's not coming out on my skin. The accord is still luscious, this is lovely.

i looove this scent, it reminds me of when i went to this girl's house who i had a crush on in middle school and she had i think a bratz doll with some scent pod in her shoes and it smelled just like this. she was a sparkly cheetah print girl and i was kinda plain so she was so cool and pretty to me. i bought a sample of this and will def be getting a full bottle

I got a sample of these and plan to buy a whole bottle one day. The smell is intoxicating! It's very sexy, mysterious and sensual,and yet refreshing - smells like a wild garden. I sense mostly blackcurrant plus some earthy and flower notes. It's really powerful and longlasting, like other 4160 Tuesdays's perfumes. Can't get enough of it.

Strong blackcurrent and pear opening, drying down to rose and strawberry. There is something rather strange in the middle notes - very earthy and peppery. The name suits it very well, this is a rather naughty scent!

This is one sweet berry jam potion. The first blast is a bit harsh, but it settles into a warm and woody based cloud. I wear this on cool and rainy days.
