Sexiest Scent on the Planet. IMHO. The 'sexiest scent', as addressed by Sarah McCartney in her quirky quick little bus video, is an ironic title as she herself doesn't see it as an entirely sexy scent, yet others did when she first showed people it outside of the 'Gin Garden' context. As I understand it, Sexiest Scent was a base for a scent with ingredients that were highly regulated but while it worked as a base, it also worked as a fragrance in itself. This scent has helped me understand what fragrantica lists as ambergris. I've come to understand that the listed notes on fragrantica, much to the bane of perfumers worldwide, are often inaccurate. However, this ingredient is something I've smelt in many niche fragrances from Zoologist to Creed. It has a slightly spicy and peppery smell to it, and I've also mistaken it in other scents to be a weird mixture of alcohol and apple. Take what you will from that, the apple scent doesn't appear here. Here we have a vanillin, Iso E, bergamot and what could be ambergris scent. The bergamot and vanillin create an opening not unlike the lifespan of Sunshine & Pancakes. It's soft, sweet (but not too sweet) and ever so beautiful. After this fades away, the Iso E creates an image of what fragrantica describes as 'woods'. I can't describe what the woods are, but there is an element of what could only be described as dry wood stored in a plastic bag and then removed, leaving the scent of said dry wood within the bag. It's very comforting, very relaxing. What I think may actually be a synthetic ambergris (as though it could be legit, being that its illegal status) is very persistent at times. It's really the only attempt at spicy sexiness I can perceive. Not that it was entirely meant to be sexy when created. This is what I would also consider to be a 'warm group hug' also. It's comforting, warm and ever so cute. Not cute in a condescending way, but cute in a way that you would consider a partner hugging up against you and nuzzling your neck kind of way. It becomes a skin scent on me very quickly and doesn't project too much but I honestly think that's the best way for it to be. For it to be the Sexiest Scent, maybe you'd want it to be intimate. If it were a relaxed and intimate scent, what better way for it to perform that by just being something that only one (or two if you're in for that...) person can smell. Just gorgeous and infinitely relaxing. Applied this on top of Amarige which was still projecting after a nice hot shower and I'm getting faint wiffs of sandalwood and tuberose. It's really quite wonderful to layer this scent as I feel it could go with most anything (within reason) Truly enjoy this scent.

Oops, didn't realise I hadn't left a review for this yet! Well this was my first fragrance from this house that I tried, and it has proven to be like a gateway drug for me as I am now sampling my way through their collection! I really recommend this scent, it is fairly simple in it's composition, but sometimes, for something simple to work, it has to be done very well, and this, in my opinion, is done very very well. Goes on smooth, rich, "full", it is not at all watery or insipid. Lovely natural smelling vanilla, this smells expensive, the bergamot lifts it and makes it light and airy, and the woody notes give it a firm grounding and depth preventing it from floating off into the total fluffy-bunny arena! The musks add a warm sensuous note, and all together, with the 4160Tuesdays base recognisable in all their scents this makes for a really good perfume. I personally find it more comforting and comfortable than sexy...it is very elegant and very feminine and I see how it could be sensuous but to me it is more a comfort scent. However it would work equally well with an elegant shift dress and court shoes, or curled up at home in your PJs. I am surprised a lot of people say this is a skin scent as I get quite a lot of sillage from this and it lasts easy 12 hours on me. This is really nice and a good starting point for exploring this house. I love it! Go try some! :)

It's crazy but occasionally you open a sample and go YES. This is it, I love this. I'm always cautious of samples like that because in the past I've bought a bottle straight away, and then burnt out within weeks. Often the instant love just doesn't endure... maybe it's the lack of complexity, the sheer number of samples I own just confuse me. I don't know. I'd read smelling_gr8's review, and knowing her well enough I know my friend usually has something even when her love is not my thang. The desire to buy haunts me. My finger hovering over the largest bottle...so I got an 8ml for the commitment phobic to be sure. I want to bathe in it.. awful horrid addict that I am. Straight away my husband said bonfires, and now I read that we are not alone in thinking this. It's familiar, comforting, simple, complex, creamy, uplifting, cozy, known, and yet different and unique. I had to write to Sarah, she says she loves her work and i'm not surprised. I love it too. 8ml's just ain't gonna cut it.

I really love this. It feels simple, not at all overwhelming in the complexity of notes or intensity of sillage, but in a good way. It feels cozy, pine-y and vanilla-y and bright. I could see this being a very pleasant everyday scent and it feels FBW to me. Is it sexy? My husband, who doesn't really care much about perfumes, said something the other day that resonated with me - the exact scent someone is wearing and whether or not you love every aspect of it doesn't matter as much as whether or not it feels like "their scent" and you recognize it as their scent, and it becomes familiar and then elevates/emboldens their presence. Obviously, this is only one aspect of perfumes and their potential for sexiness, but it does reinforce the idea of the impact of having a signature scent. Inherently, this does not smell "sexy" to me. But it is really good. If you find a person sexy and this is their signature scent, it would only make them more sexy.

i blind bought a bottle of the extrait version (The Extra Sexiest Scent on the Planet. Ever), so i will be talking about that one. the extrait is the exact same formulation as the original parfum, except much more potent and long lasting. i don’t find it particularly sexy. the name of the perfume is of course not to be taken seriously. it’s more so comforting than sexually enticing. it starts off as creamy, luscious lemon meringue pie which slowly fades into a zesty, musky, subtly woody amber. after 4+ hours of wear on my skin, it settles into a perfectly sweet, toasted vanilla skin scent. i think it’s a wonderful perfume. the longevity is amazing and the projection is good. i will be wearing this no matter what the weather’s like or what time of day it is because it’s that versatile and easy to wear. it’s so simplistic, but so well blended.. and such a treat. you can’t go wrong with this one imo.

I like this but not blown away as I have been with other creations from this house. It would be hard for anyone not to like this. It can be worn anytime anywhere. Yes, I detected the ISO alright but it does not overwhelm the rest of the notes by any means. Its all warm but not overly sweet vanillary cedary loveliness with the bergamot to give a bit of kick. Moderate sillage and lasts for many hours. I think it is quite a warm unisex fragrance. I tried it on my fella and oooh! I couldnt keep my hands of him lol He likes it on me as well ; ) ps It wasnt Sarah who said it was "The sexiest...." but a friend of hers and Sarah decided to call it that. Both Sarah and I think "Midnight in the Palace Garden" (from the luxury Crimes of Passion collection) is very sexy. WOW! that is some special juice.

Having tried several from this house, this one, perhaps their most (in)famous, had so far eluded me. Sexy? No, I wouldn't say so especially. Let's get that out of the way. But it is a beautiful cosy skin scent. First off, a citrus bergamot blast. I smell this bergamot in "Silk Lace and Chocolate". This quickly subsides into a vanilla woody skin scent which on me is linear to the end. But what a gorgeous and unusual scent! As it is fairly simple in construction it lends itself to layering. You could use a floral if you want some jam on your croissant. However, for days when you want something gorgeous and simple, this croissant is perfectly delicious on its own!

Hello. Loving the huge mix of reviews Just dropping in. Just so you know, there are no spices in The Sexiest Scent on the Planet. Ever. (IMHO) And yes, the name is supposed to be silly, not serious, but I was quoting a very young fashion journalist who said to me, "Oh my god! This is the Sexiest scent evah!" and I thought that was really funny. 4160Tuesdays - if you live for 80 years that's how many Tuesdays you get. Not enough. I was already writing a blog by that name, so I adopted it for the company. I could hardly call it Sarah McCartney as I'd just be buried in Google by Stella. Silly maybe but stupid? I hope not.

I love this, absolutely adore it.. It feels refreshing and uplifting, yet cozy and smooth. This just exudes feelings of serenity. It’s simple and I’ve smelt this in lots of vanillic-citrus lady scents already, it could just be the name, but this made me realize I love this kind of smell, you really appreciate it more when all the other aromachemicals are removed and simplified into this 4-ingredient wonder. One fixative, one base, one core, one top. Lasts and smells pleasant! Unisex/Feminine. Moderate->Intimate projection. Lasts for 8 Hours. All season & versatile.

Full disclosure: I'm in love with this scent I share the views of other posters ....its not a sexy scent per se in fact it's more comforting than sexy. I wear this to bed. First blast is pure lemon meringue pie Then it settles to a deep velvety vanilla woody loveliness I ordered a bottle straight away after I got my sample which is very rare for me :) My only complaint is how poor the silage is...have to keep reapplying! Note; The poor silage is not my imagination! According to Sarah McCartney it's a scent that should be smelt close up :)

I'm surprised to see the iso-e-super isn't used in this perfume as it smells very similar to Escentric Molecules Molecule 01, but with a dash of vanilla. Anyway if you don't know what iso-e-super smells like, it's basically a peppery, woody, musky smell. I like that this has vanilla, but I think if I were to buy either of these I'd go with Molecule 01 simply because it has better sillage and longevity. On the subject of the name, I think it's really cute given the backstory.

I *really* love this one - it's sooooo slinky like a carefree, simple, amber caress with just a hint of toasted vanilla. Can't stop sniffing myself when it's on, and it's confidence in a bottle. I get a similar effect from Olympea Intense, Cloud, Red Temptation by Zara; these are all fragrances that although very different from each other, are subtle and understated, ageless, give a "born this way" sexiness and confidence, and smell WAY more expensive than they actually are.

Inhale and swooooooon. WOW! I want to smell like this forever, always, at all times. How can I possibly be bowled over by such a simple and innocent scent??? Well, apparently I can. The scent is quite linear but I want to keep sniffing my hand and T shirt repeatedly, just to get the 'whiff' of it. The longevity is quite good and the sillage stays close to skin but mmmmmmm....mmmmmmm.....lovely indeed.

Tart citrus, softly sweet vanilla, salty ambergris, soft woods. I can smell each note and they work in such gorgeous harmony together. It's simple but not boring, and really well balanced. I do find it sexy (maybe not the sexiest) because of how well it balances masculinity and femininity, hardness and softness. Still deciding whether I need a bottle though.

the name is.....something. embarrassed asking for this sample at scentbar. this reminds me of woman in gold because the creaminess arrives in a wave that blows you away after a mid citrus opening.

Adore the wood accord in this. Reminds of sawing fresh timber and the smell of the resin when the wood gets warm. Delicious smell.

It's pretty - citrus and a simple breezy base of an earthy sort - but sexy? Not really IMHO. It may be sexier on a man, but even then it's sort of just nice. I want more than nice for my fragrance $, and if a fragrance claims to be sexy, then it bloody well should be. It's pleasing and well made, but I wouldn't buy it. I'm happy that I had a sample to try - the name intrigued me - and some may find it very sexy. It just didn't dry down to a cohesive beauty to me. It is a lovely scent, but not enough for me to buy a full bottle. If you're going to tempt people with such an enticing name, I think you should deliver on your promise. Combining ambergris with woody notes and vanilla may be a bit of a stretch for any accomplished artist, and I always look for balance and blending in a "mainstream" fragrance. This one doesn't seem finished to me - undercooked. I have recently discovered that I have dismissed some fragrances in the past, putting them safely into storage - perhaps for a future swap or sale - only to find that after a period of time my opinion has changed and they have become "loves". As I only had a very small sample, so maceration wasn't an option. The name of this fragrance compels me to give an honest opinion (something I always do anyway - what's the point of writing a review that is a lie?). Of course, we all have different ideas of what sexy is and if this floats your boat then spray away. I'll be giving this one a pass...I have a few others from this line and am looking forward to comparing them. Sarah is definitely prolific so I have some sniffing to do.

The facetious name is bound to grind some people’s gears and summon a sea of haters. However if simple is sexy, which is often can be, then this could considered so. I mostly consider heady white florals, creamy woods and piquant spices such as saffron and cardamom to be sexy. And I love all those statement making, divisive room rockers of the past - enter the chat, Alien, Hypnotic Poison and Black Orchid. But those are fragrances for nights out, dancing on tables, laden with the twinkly potential of meeting someone special. What about a different type of sexy scent for snuggling on the sofa with your husband 10 years into your marriage. This is a subtle gourmand of nuzzly musk, milky vanilla and zingy lemon. It is linear and a mistress of simplicity. Cosy and simple can be sexy too. This is an uber feminine, year round fragrance. It smells like a vanilla extract heavy lemon drizzle cake with powdered icing sugar on top. And when you fancy something sweet yet soft that doesn’t have a thousand notes and complicated components then this could be one for you.

[The Sexiest Scent On The Planet Ever IMHO] ⚫️⚫️⚫️⚪️⚪️ A perfume greater than the sum of its parts. The fragrance only contains four ingredients: ISO E Super Cedramber Vanillin Bergamot EO ISO E Super acts as the base to support the other notes. The Cedramber offers the woody/ambergris tones whilst Vanillin sweetens up and adds body to the composition. The Bergamot works to create a fizzy element in the opening and acts as a fantastic natural blender. It’s a great example of perfume for those who are interested in creating formulas at home. A kit is even available on the 4160 website for £50. Whilst a lot of people write this fragrance off due to the naming of the fragrance, I do think they’re forgetting that taste (especially when it comes to perfume) is subjective? It’s true, the fragrance does sit closer to the skin but by design not lack of craftsmanship. It’s a treat for those who are closest to you or most intimate with. It is cosy and warming whilst being discreet and enjoyable for those who are within range.

Just after spraying, the fragrance shows its fresh, spicy and even a bit herbal side. However, this opening is not an indicator of how the perfume smells during dry down: the further it progresses, the more the vanilla comes to the forefront. The dry down is a spicy and woody vanilla that shows from time to time its sweeter side. Now, regarding the sexiness of this fragrance: I think it is a lovely fragrance for a cozy afternoon and cozy circumstances can lead to romantic situations... As a woman, I do not think that it is a sexy female scent because the woodiness puts this fragrance a bit more into the male territory, however, it could definitely be sexy on a man. I personally like to wear this fragrance outdoors. The other day, I loved how the smell of conifers in the rain and this perfume complemented each other wonderfully.

I remember testing this before, intrigued by the name, and not particularly liking it. I am not a big fan of iso E super and if I remember correctly when I first tested this one it overpowered the scent and was off putting with its slightly after shavish woodiness. By chance I got a sample of this and decided to give it another try. Much to my surprise I liked it much better this time around. Not sure if I got a different batch or if the weather and temperature is so different but this time around a soft musky vanillary sweetish cloud surrounded me with a small, manageable quantity of iso E woodiness, giving the scent a bit of backbone in its sharpness. I was surprised how much better I liked it. Would I get a full bottle? Nah.

As a big fan or the Gypsy Water style fragrance, I am forever in search of a higher performing fragrance with a similar profile. Tocca Colette and Une Nuit Nomade Bohemian Soul scratch the itch for me (although not a big step up in terms of performance). This fragrance has a similar fragrance profile but with a bit more citrus zing. It should have been a top contender for me, however on my skin I detect a strange note that smells a bit like feet haha. It’s nice, and I should probably give it a wearing and test on clothes, but with a large collection I’m not particularly feeling compelled to make myself love it.

I've tried a sample of this and find it sooo easily wearable, it's perhaps not as "out there" as I would usually like in a scent but it's so comforting and sensual. I would choose to wear this to bed.... alone or even better with company ;) I agree that it's a skin scent, you have to get close to the wearer to enjoy it, and what's wrong with that! :-) For me it opens with a subtle wood shavings / muskiness and vanilla but I love how this dries down to something so soft and ever so slightly chocolatey. Not sure if I will buy a full bottle but I'd like to think that I will do someday, even if only for bedtimes.

I haven't tried many from this house but this one definitely gets a thumbs up. At the start it was quite tart which quickly dried off to a sweet, comforting woodiness. This stayed with the scent as vanilla and musk came through. For me personally, I don't find this particularly sexy but that is not a criticism as I don't always want to smell that way... On me, this is cosy, warm and somehow kind. I would also say that this would be fine to wear in all seasons and weathers - always a bonus in the changeable British climate. Well worth trying!

This is a sweet citrus musk which quietly sustains and is very enjoyable. It opens with tart lemon and settles down into a ‘lemon cake’ scent, which then sits on skin for 2+ hours. I’d say it’s slightly more feminine than unisex but each to their own. Sexy is subjective (and I think the story behind this is that it’s a quote from someone?), but this is warm, comforting and delicious - and sometimes that is very sexy indeed.

I love a good ambergris perfume. I really like the way this smells. I am very jealous of those who have said that the longevity and sillage is strong on them. This fades within 30 mins. I have been trying to find a woody bergamot ambergris that doesn't smell like a lemon/lime dessert and I thought this would be perfect. It's so light and doesn't last.

Very pleasant scent. A creamy vanilla woodsy scent that lingers close to your skin. A strong like for me. If I received this as a gift I'd be happy, but at this point I don't see myself purchasing a full bottle. I have a problem with the name though. I find this scent comforting, a soft scent that seems more girl next door than the sexiest scent.

Sweet and mouthwatering lemon meringue pie with hints of woody notes in the back to keep it from getting cloying. I’m a male and I would personally love smelling this on a female rather than male. For al you males out there, if u want a scent that’s similar to this but a bit more masculine I would try gypsy water by byredo! Sexy sexy sexy stuff

It smells like when you buy a fresh lemon meringue pie a few days before Thanksgiving, leave the pie in the fridge, then serve it cold on Thanksgiving Day. Smells like Limoncello body spray from B&BW. It’s a good scent to go do errands. Is it a sexy scent? No. I barely can get this scent to last 3 hours on me.

Has three very distinct, linear, phases. Firstly the lovely bright burst of citrus which gradually fades into the woody middle notes eventually leaving just the base notes of ambergris and vanilla. It had disappeared completely within about three hours.

I find this quite masculine with a cedar type of note the most persistent. It does seem to want some top note so I layered it with some Rose cologne and that set it off quite well. Not very strong and only the darkest woody notes persist beyond an hour.

I got a sample of this from lucky scent in 2017 and remember cringing. But I’ve “revisited” her and well, um, it IS pretty sexy! I think the “sexiness” comes from it being... yummy. One more revisit might result in a FB purchase!

A lovely comforting scent to me, very cozy. I get little wafts of it for an hour or two after application but it doesn't seem to last much longer. I am tempted to buy a full sized bottle but haven't forked out just yet.

It's like a table-for-two for bergamot and vanilla; very much the definition of a skin scent. I totally get the name - it nails down this elusive "your skin but better" vibe, which is actually very hard to achieve.

Its ok. Thats pretty much all I can say. I wouldn't buy a full bottle. It is very vanilla. You do get a little bit of woods too. Overall, Kinda blah... And very borderline unisex.

A very nice pleasurable spicy vanilla scent. Reminds me of Eau Duelle , however holds on very close to the skin. Really, silage- wise, it's a skin scent.

Smells similar to Si from Giorgio Armani but not as balanced. I agree with someone who said they detected citronella.

It is what it is. A bergamot woody scent that decays into a vanilla-woody mixture. If that's your thing you may want to try this one. It is quite linear and simple. It's not a bad scent just something I don't really appreciate or interested in. It is of high quality and all the notes are noticeable. No synthetic mess. It is the only "masculine" scent I sampled from that brand, 4160 Tuesdays. Most of their scents are for females in my opinion. Actually on a man that would be great I think. Maybe that's where the "sexy" comes from.

This is a strange one to me. On my skin all I get is Iso E super and a very sweet vanilla. I don't mind either of those individually or in other fragrances, but somehow the combination here is off-putting to me. It's like I'm wearing two totally different fragrances at one time; like they don't combine somehow. I'm sure this is really nice on some people, but I would imagine it all has to do with skin chemistry and how you perceive the Iso E. Definitely one to test beforehand especially at this price point.

Ah, yep, Iso E Super. I thank the many other reviewers for verifying that as the name of this chemical I'm detecting. It isn't a horrifying amount of Iso E, to my nose - I don't feel the need to scrub it. But it's enough to be a deal killer, since it's a note that doesn't work for me. The rest of the scent is a pleasant, yummy orange-vanilla, and if you like that accord, try Perdizione by Nobile 1942! It's gorgeous and quite similar to this fragrance, but without the Iso E Super.

When I first tested and purchased it, I thought it was a wonderful gourmand, totally unique, like something I would find in some French bakery. A good casual scent that can be worn in the cooler weather, but can also be used for a more dressy occasion if needed. Now? I've become bored with the scent, NOT because I'm more sophisticated, but because my preference is now leaning towards more generic, freshy scents. Just an "ok" from me.

This starts off citrus-lemon-sherbet on me, but that quickly dies down to become a VERY close skin scent, of lemon cake without and any icing. It’s pure soft lemon sponge, cake batter with a slight animalic base. It’s definitely a your-skin-but-better type of scent, it’s just a bit too soft and demure for me. Very appealing though, no one could massively dislike this.

I have a few lemon based gourmands and if lemon cookies are sexy, those are all sexier than this one. I am not very impressed. The people around me though, are...... My colleague literally said “that smells sexy”. However, I’d recommend getting a lemon gourmand by Ganache. Much more affordable. This is tangy, a bit floral, sweet, and aquatic to me.

I don't get sex from this. Rather a nice picnic in a wooded park while eating one of those dyed green key lime pies from a box. The core is wood and vanilla, that iso, but sits too simple and sweet overall.

Nice, orange and vanilla cream opening. The sweetness is balanced with the bitter citrus peel. I don't enjoy the ambergris in the dry down. Review of official spray sample that came free with purchase.

Your love or dislike of this perfume will depend entirely on your relationship with Iso E Super and white musk. Because that is what is at the heart of this fragrance. And I would venture to guess that there are loads of both in here. To some people Iso E acts like human catnip, irresistible and intriguing. Others are completely anosmic and still others are puzzled by its popularity. In all fairness, I am in the latter camp, I smell a peppery, woody, almost cedary accord when I sniff Iso E. It doesn't repel me, but it doesn't draw me in either. So I am most likely immune to its charms in this fragrance. I actually find the white musk in this fragrance to be well done, it is not too screechy clean and it gives the vanilla a fluffiness. But there is little development or progression of notes, just whipped vanilla musk set next to an appealing bergamot. Pleasant, but boring. I don't get the ambergris dry down, and I was looking for it. I do love a nice "lived in" skin musk dry down, but it never appeared for me. I tried this fragrance a total of three times, and all I ever got was a polite woody vanilla with a touch of citrus. Yawn. Bottom line: overpriced and overhyped.

Enough to confirm yet again that Niche perfumery just is too much of a gamble. Save for the samples at the likes of Luckyscent, most would never get to hear of fragrances such as this one. Maybe she saw her chance and came up with a clever hook of a name for this scent and it was bound to get some attention. Though honestly, time for the playfulness with the words and all that to give way to the star of the show i.e. the scent. So, where is the scent anyhow?. Nothing more than a faint wisp of nothing really. A too light lemon lime vanilla accord with what appears like cedar in the background. So poor in fact I can smell the remnants of yesterdays edc right over it. Wow. Then the price charged for a full bottle is outrageous. All in all one of the greatest letdowns ever. Just again to recap. If you can get more than 15 mins out of this one you are doing better than the rest of us. Sarah Maccartney, please enough of the larking around . What you have produced here is very poor indeed.

Horrible, quite frankly. The initial burst was citrussy fresh and almost exactly like Clarins Eau Dynamisante, but within 15 minutes it had changed into a sickly sweet cross between vanilla and banana milkshake. I didn't get any spice or wood, this was like the smell of cheap ice cream. Longevity is good (or bad depending on how you feel about it)-10 hours later I can still smell it.
