4711 Acqua Colonia Goji & Cactus Extract

Just to update my older review because I realised something.... If you can imagine Britney Spears Prerogative Ego without the creamy and lactonic notes (and less sugary sweetness), you have acqua Colonia Goji & Cactus! It's probably the strongest 4711 I've ever sniffed and it smells more like a perfume rather than a cologne, than any of my other ones! It's sweet and bold, has a decent projection and last for about 4 hours on my skin. On clothes this one lasts waaaay longer than that! Such a fab little cheapy! So I can wear Ego in colder weather and when I fancy the same profile in warmer weather I can wear this Goji Cactus!

There is definitely vanilla in this perfume! It smells like berries and vanilla, it's a bit like a bright, watery, fresh and summery version of a typical fruitchouli scent, but without the patchouli! I can't wear fruitchoulis' as they give me a headache but I can wear this. It's nice because it means I get to wear a scent profile that's normally a no-go for me! Definitely leans very feminine. The sweetest Acqua Colonia I've smelt and one of the longest lasting (which I'm sure is because it has vanilla in the base!). the Cactus is very much in the background, the Goji is the dominant note.

I was so intrigued by the cactus note as there is at least one other fragrance with cactus that I find clean yet curious, but the goji gives a smell that reminds me of the taste of saccharine or sugar substitute. It is unpleasant. Not the worst thing I've ever smelled, but not something I want to smell either.

Acqua Colonia is my innocent pleasure, I always sample their new releases and I often find myself adding another bottle to my collection. This was the case with Goji&Cactus, a very nice, fresh and creamy scent. I must confess I have no idea what goji berries or cactus smells like, this scent smells like a nice body cream, it certainly has a sort of "creaminess" but also freshness that makes it a nice choice for a non-citrus summer cologne. Sillage and longevity are just like what you can expect from a cologne, but you can mercilessly spray it without suffocating the ones next to you. Bottle & paper box are stunning, I just love their graphic designer and how the bottles kept the classic appearance but with a modern, edgy vibe.

Pure bliss, much much more than a goji juice ! There is a certain fruitiness but very clear and delicate. We are in an adult wellcrafted area, not in a baby sirop. The base is cosmetic, like an expensive face cream with green almond milk nuances and some ethereal powder too. It took me some time to identify the captivating silky sillage, which got regular compliments from people coming closer. It’s an overripe patchouli drop, not vanilla. In winter it gives me a fresh chocolate aftertaste. It’s one of the best things I’ve ever smelled.

This smells like a nice expensive skin cream. Reminds me of a cosmetic store in france. A nice creamy fruit scent, not too sweet. After a while I do get some green cactus.
