4711 Rose Eau de Cologne

This is a simply done rose fragrance but in the best possible way. The opening is crisp, bright, and slightly zesty. I had somewhat low expectations for this, given the price, but it surprised me! The scent is light, floral, and clean. It smells somewhat like a greenhouse, or like stepping out of a cold shower on a hot day. Like others have said, it smells like straight alcohol when you first spray it, which is really unpleasant, but it fades quickly. The longevity has been better for me than others in the comments. It definitely doesn’t have great sillage, but it lasts well on clothes, and I keep smelling it hours after I spray. It won’t fill a room, but for the price, this is definitely a worthy buy. I’m looking forward to getting some more from this collection someday! 8/10

This fragrance is very elegant and vintage. I love it. It does smell like rose, it is very true to the natural rose. It is very feminine. It is perfect for summer, but I think one can wear it in any season. It doesn't last long at all! It stays on my skin for around 30 minutes. It is perfect for after-showers. If you want to wear it outside you'll have to re-apply it once in a while, at least with me is like that. This fragrance reminds me of older women enjoying summer time, not in the beach, but in the countryside or in the garden. It is a cologne for reserved women who are introvert and not loud. A cologne suitable for the "Dame".

This is a delightful, intimate rose cologne. It opens with a sharp burst of green tea and alcohol, just long enough for me to say ‘oh no!’. In a few minutes, it calms down into a soft, gently sexy, very wearable sandalwood-y rose. It reminds me of the soft skin scent left behind by some Indian rose-scented soaps. The projection is practically nil, but it lingers for hours on my skin. The overall impression is soft, clean, and gentle. A perfect office scent that won’t cause migraines, but also perfect for an intimate evening where your scent can and should be smelled up close ;)

I love this for the warmer weather. It's fresh, clean and light, not too sweet. It's simple, in the best way. Yes, it doesn't last forever and I over spray but this has been a staple for years. It's also great to apply straight out of the shower. Bought a large bottle a few years ago, that's almost empty. I have one all ready to go when this runs out.

This is definitely a favourite cheapie of mine. It's chic, fresh, and doesn't overpower the nose. It reminds me of sweet rose tea on the opening, then it slowly dries down into a really delicate rounded floral. I love the sandalwood in this and it compliments the rose perfectly. I will agree with other reviews about the burst of alcohol during the opening however, it can be very off-putting at first! But its definitely worth the 5 minute wait. This is best worn in warmer months, it doesn't stick around for too long but enough to make itself known, about as average as other cologne formulas. This does perform a little better in the cooler evening I've found, it radiates off the skin for just a bit longer, but that may just be me so don't take my word for it. I've almost used a whole100mL bottle in under a year, so I'll definitely be repurchasing!

I am a big fan of the 4711 House, and I just love the way they can reinvent their creations and give them a modern vibe. I was very excited about this new collection of florals and couldn't wait to try them all. The design is really cool - the classical traditional bottle, with a new colour and a more minimalist design. Love it. The juice itself is fresh and rosy, just as expected. Very pleasant, yet unpretentious and not very original scent. The original kolnisch wasser is hard to recognize here. It stays very close to skin, but it lasts more than expected from an eau de cologne. I am still a bit disappointed, because I just love this idea, but they could have developed it more beautifully, like the amazing Aqua Colonia series. Unfortunately this one has a hint of artificial rose that I don't like, and lacks originality.

Sweet, pleasant rose with nice citrus elements. Not getting much wood or chypre--it's not quite as much like a freshly cut rose with stems and leaves, like the Tea Rose by Perfumer's Workshop, and it's definitely not as jammy and rich as Rose Flash, but it's a nice subtle fragrance. I'm going to suggest that my husband try it sometimes; I think it would be nice in an office setting because it doesn't project too much. Update: Now it's nearly two years later, and this EDT is much more of a strong performer. It is just perfect for super hot weather, and it lingers on clothing much longer than I expected. I might even upgrade this to a Love; I can discern the sandalwood now.

I wanted to buy 4711 Lilac, but it's hard to find where I live in physical stores, so I settled for the 4711 Rose instead. I thought that it'd be a relatively low-stakes blind buy because of how affordable it is for the amount of liquid in the bottle - and I was right. This is a gentle, green garden rose fragrance. It's reminiscent of wandering through a park full of flowers on a bright, sunny day. It's also a perfect after-shower perfume that's refreshing on especially hot nights. It has low longevity and intimate sillage, but for the amount of liquid you get, I don't think that it's as big of a problem as it would be with more expensive and smaller bottles of perfume.

I knew 4711 could make a decent rose because they made a good rose centifolia. But that was awhile ago, so I really wondered what they'd come up with. This one's a really good woody one. Not really a foresty wood one either; no pine trees were harmed.... I don't think it smells cheap either; cheap would have been a gooey tea rose, and thank goodness they didn't go there. And it's stronger than you're expecting, but I don't think it competes with moth spray. It isn't the finest rose scent I've ever smelled, but they definitely haven't embarrassed themselves either.

It’s an easy wear. Not as rose-y as I was expecting. I am getting a lot of the green tea, mandarin and freesia. Musk, violet and bergamot would be underlaying those. The mandarin, musk and sandalwood make it a bit more of a ‘warmer’ rose fragrance than one might expect. Fruity and warm, but still floral and light. Initial spritzes were very alcoholic but it’s dried down nicely. Very pleasant.

This one is a romantic and feminine version of the classic 4711 or even more the 4711 Remix Cologne anniversary edition which i adore. So this one with its nice sweet pink rose, but not too sweet. it is fresh and suitable for young ladies or even teens that start their first experiences with fragrance and cannot spent hundreds of bucks for a bottle! go for it! i think of purchasing it, too...

The rose in this is nicely done, smooth and a little bit sweet. To me, this is a linear rose scent and I do not get much of the citrus notes. As to be expected from an EdC, the fragrance becomes an instant skin scent. When sprayed liberally on my clothes, I can get wafts for up to an hour. This is a lovely scent for a quick refreshment throughout the day.

Starts a bit sharp, but then turns into a pretty rose. I am not a big fan of rose fragrances, but this one is pleasant. It’s soft, has a light citrusy touch and is a bit powdery. It’s feminine and a bit sweet. It’s a sensual scent for spring, for romantic ladies of all ages. Final note: 6,5/10

I wore this and someone said "Who's perfume is that? it smells really bad". From my memory lol. I have not worn it since. It still smells really nice even though its unisex its maybe more for women, my mother wears it more then I will. Its good tho.

This smells like rose potpourri to me. I don't smell any of the fresh top notes mentioned here. While it isn't bad, it is more 1980s - 90s taste, not of this century's, but it's better than the lilac version. It's definitely fitting as a closet room spray. It also dissipates extremely quickly, I can't smell anything after an hour on skin.

It is not only deceptive, it is offensive. Most artificial-to-cheap rose note I ever smelled. I’ve gone through liters and liters of the original 4711 all my life... but this rose thing is an embarrassment for the brand. Jasmine version is interesting.

Now this is odd: I couldn't smell anything. I mean: Nothing! Did I get a bad bottle? It was only a 8ml tester bottle, maybe that's why. But there was no scent. Did this happen to anyone else?

I quite enjoy the 4711 Rose, the past year it's slowly become my everyday easy scent my 'no perfume' perfume. Its not a typical rose, it's not super sweet or powdery. It's actually very fresh and green top notes are very prominent. It's a cool rose. It's clean like a bubble bath or just out of the shower. Reminds me of a crisp spring morning. Very mild and not long lasting sadly, but perfect as a refresher. I use it more as a body spray (which for the price is fine) It's a light and breasy easy to wear feminine fragrance.

It's rose, but not the fresh one you'd splash on in Spring or Summer. Wow, this has a woody-tobacco note that makes it interesting. It's the rose cologne I will use on a cold day or night.
