Majestic Leather

I know the other reviewers didn’t like it, but I quite like this perfume. The warm spices are very present, the wood and the leather scent are there, but indeed more at the back. At the beginning it lingers more masculine, but afterwards it turns more feminine. So I can really imagine it on both men and women. In the beginning I was picturing it on older guy, sitting at his leather arm chair, in his old library, surrounded by old bookshelves, sipping an expensive whiskey. But after some 2 hours, I started to picture it on a younger woman, that went out at night for an alternative nightclub with some friends, but somehow she got overwhelmed with the crowd, went outside and is quietly smoking her cigarette in a corner, mysteriously looking at you. It has a vintage, classy, and non-obvious component to it. You definitely need a specific personality to wear it. I’ll stay with the sample and not invest in the full bottle, as it won’t fit my lifestyle. But I liked the experience

Unfortunately, I can only agree with the previous comment. The fellow user even brought the receipts for this dissapointing fragrance. "There's nothing majestic about it and nothing leather either" -------------------------------------- Update: 14. March, 2025: some users have compared it to Halfeti or Halfeti Leather and I agree -> the spices and woody notes are there, leather is still missing.

The last sample in the Collection Absolue Discovery Set, Majestic Leather, was just a giant disappointment for me. There's nothing majestic about it and nothing leather either. Instead, you get a fragrance that smells cheap, synthetic, 'funky' in the worst way... and develops not at all away from that. From the first spray on, Majestic Leather blasts you with candy-like sweet-sourness that never gets better and it's really not at all pleasant to my nose. I was reminded of sherbet powder. The cheapest sherbet powder you ever sniffed. By the fistful. Artificial sweet fruits with the typical sour undertones of these kinds of kids' candies. Usually, I understand if things just aren't to my tastes but others might like but this, I just found... very unpleasant. If anyone else smelled like this, I would look at them weirdly. About 20 minutes in, the attack on my nose went down a notch, but only in a minor way. Behind the artificial sweetness, the sourness turned out to be a very dry and sour musk, a very strong one at that. In and on itself this might even be used for a pleasant perfume but in conjunction with the candy-sweetness, it just becomes weird and unbearable. It's very powdery and dry here as well. Again: in the worst possible way. And from here on out, nothing much happened anymore. Sometimes the sweetness was more pronounced, sometimes the musk came through more and the sourness was more present but overall it just went nowhere from here. Candy like sweet-sour-muskyness. Unpleasant. Far from majestic. It stayed for like 8 or 9 hours and I just wish it had faded earlier. At some point, the artificiality of the sweetness got marginally better but that might just be my nose getting used to it a little. Overall, I just wish I had not smelled it. There's absolutely nothing desirable here for me.
