Vibrant Musk

Much like Noble Rose, Vibrant Musk is a very straightforward fragrance - you very much get what is on the label. A musky, woody scent, heavy on cedar and Super E Iso. It starts like that, it stays like that and after 5 hours, it fades like that. Development in it is minimal but not to its disadvantage for it is competent at what it's trying to achieve. From the first moment on, Vibrant Musk is primarily one thing: A semi-dry, semi-creamy musk accord. It isn't as powdery as many iris-musk combinations but it still has a bit of the same dryness as those. At the same time, it isn't as smooth and creamy as, say, Dior Homme EdT 2020 but there's still quite a bit of that idea in the background of it. The musk is not sour and there's a certain warmness to the whole fragrance. Speaking of Dior Homme EdT 2020, Vibrant Musk, in many ways, resembles that fragrance if you take away the abstract freshness from it. Looking at the notes, this doesn't come as much of a surprise, of course. I was reminded of it even in the first few minutes of putting my nose to my wrist. Where Vibrant Musk lacks the freshness, it adds an additional, more pronounced layer of ambroxanian musk to compensate which isn't much to my personal taste but that's a purely subjective statement. The background and depth - creamy abstract woodiness of the Super E Iso and the raspiness of Cedar with a slight pepperiness to round it all up - is very much the same. If you're looking for an on-the-nose musky smell combined with a comforting background in wood, I think sampling this might be worth your time. It lasted something between 4 and 5 hours on my skin but through its lifetime, it never became stale or boring, despite limited development. It does one thing and it's decent at what it does.

Very molecular, as expected from the notes, but with smooth and measured edges rather than the cristal clear skeleton I had imagined. Modern, abstract, but polite and polished.
