Twin Flame

I bought this with tempered expectations after really disliking Life of the Party from 5 Sens. Twin Flame is totally pleasant—probably blind-buy safe even if greens/ozonics aren’t your usual thing. On me, it’s like a slightly salty tea-vetiver candle or diffuser, something you’d expect from Le Labo or Apotheke. In my mind, the wearer is slightly androgynous. Twin Flame stays pretty linear (which I don’t mind), and I like layering it with Kenzo World Power, whose light vanilla adds warmth to the salty-fresh vibe. Overall, Twin Flame is a bit basic (not as fiery as the name would suggest), but it’s effortlessly wearable—and I’m happy I got a small bottle.

Reminds me of a subdued Bois de Balincourt. The scent is pleasant and good for any season, though the notes would imply maybe more of a springtime fragrance. It’s more woody than fresh though IMO. It’s a nice fragrance but I’d rather spend my coin on the aforementioned perfume because this one doesn’t quite last as long.

This is an understated, demure skin-scent with minimal diffusion. Performance: Extremely low projection; a highly reluctant performer, sitting very close to the skin. Scent Profile: A core of soft, creamy sandalwood and clean, aqueous cucumber, lifted by subtle, sweet floral nuances. Application: Functions optimally as a clean, sophisticated base layer or for highly intimate settings where minimal sillage is desired. Comparison to Santal 33 Twin Flame serves as an alternative for those who appreciate the modern woody-floral aesthetic but find even the modest diffusiveness of a fragrance like Santal 33 too prominent. It delivers the woody and floral character of that style without the sharp, leathery backbone (e.g., ambroxan/Iso-E-Super). Overall: A refined, clean cucumber-sandalwood profile that strictly adheres to the skin and can be used as a subtle-base layer or skin-scent.

Weak version of Santal 33 and its many copiers. If I want a sandalwood fragrance done in this way, I’m just going to save my money for a better one. It’s nice - fresh, woody, and green but not unique or long lasting. Not a standout as I’m learning many from this house aren’t.

I wasn't a fan of this. It's the 2nd to last scent in the 5 Sens discovery set and it's probably my least favorite of them. I get a lot of cucumber with some muskyness behind it. It's not terrible but its also not a scent I would grab for. If you're a fan of green fragrances and like scents that stay close to you, this may be worth it to try out.

I can barely smell anything sadly unless I directly smell from the bottle. Was looking forward to this, but I'm glad I got a travel size because it doesn't perform. The scent is very light and leans masculine. Slightly soapy with distant sandal notes. I had to double-check that I wasn't wearing this shirt when I tested Commodity Gold the other day as it smelled similar on that note as if I had sprayed it on my shirt before washing it. I did not. They are very distant cousins that share a similar note but since this has so few notes, the sandalwood stands out to me. Gold has sandalwood somewhere, don't fight me on this. Very intimate in range of smell, and stays very close to the skin on me. I don't love the travel-size bottle of this as the shape makes it hard to store with my other trial-sized bottles. 2/5 as far as close to skin soap scents go but 3/5 as far as sandalwood room spray kind of scents go. I could imagine this scent in a yoga studio worn by some yogi master who somehow never breaks a sweat. I could see Yoga Jones loving this one.

Twin Flame is very gentle and creamy without threatening to turn pickle-y, unlike Santal 33. They are easily comparable, but Twin Flame is much softer in both projection and feel. If you're afraid of smelling smoky, don't let the name throw you off because there is nothing burnt here. Not at all an in-the-woods nature scent, this smells like reading a paperback novel with your feet on a plush white rug somewhere expensive and air-conditioned. Safe blind buy if you like sandalwood because that's pretty much all this is. Very linear scent that lasts all day on me, sticks particularly well to clothing.

If you like Santal forward scents like bois de Balincourt or Santal 33, you would like this although it is a more demure version of either. It’s gentler and has a slight cucumber freshness to it. It’s really nice and one of the best in the 5 sens discovery set.

Dill pickles, salt, sandalwood, osmanthus, maybe other florals? A little indolic. Dries down to a salty sandalwood with a little vetiver.

smells almost exactly like Mojave Ghost, a little bit smoother.
