Boss Bastard

Opens up a bit synthetic and smokey, it weirdly reminds me of a chimney. Quite urban and brutal, think a big concrete building. This comes from the weird blend of citruses, when a bunch of citruses mix it does come off a bit synthetic. But in a clean professional non headache inducing way. It then calms down to a bit more green wet character, with added sweetness when the tobacco and amber join in. The far dry down is majestic. The citruses are gone and you get woody and musks, it resembles soft sweet oud a bit but it doesnt contain any. Along the whole thing it smells like spices and a bit of lavender, the perfume has a way of faking you out as it doesnt say it has any lavender either. Lasts a BUNCH, can be a night out fragrance or a signature. Other than super hot days it can be worn any time. Its weirdly universal, citruses to lighten it up and woods tobacco to make it deep and dark. I hate to say it but it wears the name quite well, never been one to care what a perfume is called or the whole marketing around it (caffe rose, OUD wood, OUD stars gao, etc) as it usually is only superficial, but this is exactly what youd imagine a confident, smart, deceitful, well dressed boss to wear along his tux he bought on his workers backs. Professional for the investors, sweet enough for women, and masculine enough for the snow parties. Dior elixir all grown up and without all that annoying ambroxan. Also ive noticed most of the new perfumes from ath arent added on the database. If anyones is wondering tabac extreme is quite literally, hands down, the BEST perfume ive smelled, ever. Longevity is literally a full day, it projects a perfect amount not too much not too little, and the scent profile is quite literally mouth watering. And its priced amazingly too.

This is lush , definitely a manly man’s scent lol, the tobacco and ambers shine after a few hours, Projects a lot for a couple of hours , it’s not beast mode but you will be noticed. Slightly zingy citrusy at the beginning but soon gets pushed right back as the tobacco and amber come in with a lovely soft woods , it definitely smells niche and expensive, could dress up or down, will shine in the colder months. It lasts all day and the skin scents is awesome even the next morning, I want to buy a full bottle now

This stuff is just wow! I never really found a fragrance thats got a sweetness to it yet some very 'confident man' elements to it such as tobacco. Its like a sweet guy that can be a bad boy if he wanted to type of scent. Think of it as a nice guy that is dressed as a confident bad boy. When I first smelt this it didnt work for me as I didnt like the mix of sweet and tobacco but after giving some time, I loved it. Also this stuff last very long too! Suited more for night times

It brings back memories of a time before CCTV, when you were just starting out and your bosses could indulge in mischief without facing any consequences. Well, now you are the boss and want to follow in the same footsteps. Wearing this will get you straight before the HR department arguing that workplace massages are acceptable if requested. With over 12 hours of staying power on both skin and clothes, it's definitely unisex and hard to ignore (in a good way!).

Boss Bastard was the first scent from ATH , that I had the pleasure to sniff . Scent is superb unique it’s a spicy - citrus - sweet - gourmand freshie with a great performance . Both sillage and longevity is a monster ! I was surprised how good this fragrance actually was . Highly over my expectations . This is totally full bottle worthy ! Simply a masterpiece !

This is my "speaking-engagement" fragrance. It fills the room and commands silence and respect. Great fragrance, great performance, very professional. It really works with my skin chemistry and I do get a lot of the tobacco, the honey and the leather. It has this high-level, diplomatic meeting charm. Hard to get in the EU, though.

Absolutely beautiful. I don't know why incense is not mentioned in the notes because I do get sandalwood incense vibes. Aaron needs to invest a bit more in the bottles though.

His parfumes are...so sexy. Boss Bastard is type of fragrance that is so magnetic. Crazy interesting tobacco amber fragrance. There is nothing like it. Bravo for Aron.

I've bought quite a few of the 10ml fragrances. One of my friends gifted the 10ml of Boss Bastard from the old materials supplier her used. On first try I wasn't feeling it. Smelled old dry tobacco to me. Fast forward, I wanted to give various samples in my drawer a try and saw boss bastard. I wore it a few times and I was pleasantly surprised. Honey and Tobacco essence galore. Not similar to the sweeter Naxos or a TF Tobacco Vanillle. It's airy enough to wear anytime except high heat or summers. Projection: 1-2ft Longevity: Realistic 4-5hrs where you can effortlessly detect on skin. On clothes you'll smell it a little longer. I bought a full bottle. Price is actually way cheaper than it should be for the quality.

Interesting scent profile with a little extra...oomph. The cacao pod separates this from other citrus bombs. Adapts an amberous tobacco overtone as it develops. Gets slightly powdery. Has the signature ATH ambroxan, eau de chloroform essence. Cloying and pungent gives way to a refined spicy overtone. One of the best from this house.

I feel warm and stand out-ish when I put this on, and I'm walking through a wood-clad den with aisles of cakes and cigars wafting as I pass each étagère. Every note here dances around each other, without stepping on everyone's toes, in a clear and precise whirling harmony. It is delicious and pokes the senses.

It’s a nice musky Amber tobacco with the cacao in the background. It’s nice, and very gentleman like, but for the price point it’s hard to justify.

Xerjoff Naxos is Godfather, this is Goodfellas. Seriously. I can't afford this manliness.

Boss Bastard by ATH presents a promising blend of tobacco, Amber, cocoa and musky notes but disappoints with an overwhelming gasoline/fart spray-like aroma that persists throughout wear. Honeyed tobacco my arse, smells like horrible old dry tobacco. Despite attempts to appreciate its complexity, the scent fails to deliver a palatable experience for me personally, making it difficult to recommend. The only positive is the opening which is very nice. I wish I liked this fragrance because I'm a huge fan of ATH. Unfortunately, this is a hard pass for me. I give this 3/10.

I ordered a 10ml of this to trial it, as I read some good reviews. I tested this straight onto skin, onto my right wrist, as I wanted to check longevity and smell it in intervals to capture the overall fragrance journey. 1spray on my wrist. I would say this is not blind buy safe at all. Very happy I only got a 10ml. I get a very loud, strong, very feminine, honey sweet with that burning incense stick type opening. It's reminiscent of walking into a shop that sells brightly coloured tops by the sea, where they have incense sticks burning and it's a hot and cloying perfumey smell. Quite overwhelming in the opening. This opening lasts for around 5 minutes, then starts to ease more into a much more subtle, and citrusey smell. The beginnings of the bergamot and orange blossom around 5 minutes in, start to creep through. It's still very loud mind you and this was just 1 spray. The bergamot slaps. This is a hit in the face, so if you don't like bergamot fragrances, this is not for you. To my nose it smells like honey and incense. I'm not sure I get the "manliness personified" I expected from this. Boss bastard is a bold name to put on a perfume that to me should be called, hippy shop. It's a very niche smell. Strong and wafting, but all day I just smell, hippy shop. Not for me im afraid scent 2/10 Like old ladies and hippy shop combination Performance/duration 10/10 this stuff doesn't even want to wash off with soap! Wearability 1/10 This isn't a masculine fragrance at all to my nose. I won't wear this again I simply will not wear this. Might gift to my nan, as my suit her.

Is this the worst fragrance I’ve ever owned or in fact ever smelled? Probably. I’ve never been more let down by a fragrance. The notes were so promising with orange, tobacco, cacao, woods and musk but they somehow managed to blend these all together and produce what can only be described as an antique shop. Everything about it smells old, expired, harsh and pungent. The orange is so bitter. The woods are so geriatric. The musk is so animalic. The cacao so dusty. The tobacco is so dry and prominent but not in a good way like Spicebomb extreme achieves perfectly. It reeks of old polished wooden furniture. Believe it or not I am actually a fan of the house of ATH; I own 11 of his fragrances but this is the only one I refuse to wear. I tried it on my hand and I couldn’t get it off quick enough, unfortunately the quality of the ingredients made it very difficult to remove which could be argued is a good thing(?). This is not gentlemanly. This is not sweet. This is not masculine. This is like sticking your nose in the unlit pipe of an old man that has been in an antique shop that never gets cleaned. Glad it has been discontinued so nobody else can fall into the trap of blind buying this monstrosity. Scent: 0.5/10 Longevity: 9/10 Projection: 8.5/10 Versatility: 6/10 Price: 5/10 Overall: 5.8/10 (and that’s being generous!)

Absolutely in love with this magnificent scent. Jammy rose marmelade with a very strong smooth oud that gives that gives depth and mystery to this masterpiece. This is the one that got me to appreciate oud/rose-combos and I havent come close to something as good as this. Pure class, impeccable quality. Only tried a few from this house but might have to travel across Europe just to go to Aarons boutique in Manchester (the webshop is closed for Europeans at the moment). This is in my top 3, and probably at top.

Tobacco and sweet amber that pierces your nose. The tobacco is always prominent through the development of the scent. It starts with some hints of freshness but quickly dries down to the sweet amber. Limited use to cold weather only as this is a very cloying fragrance. Its like Naxos but on steroids. In your face and not as subtle. It is really a bastard boss smoking tobacco and making sure his presence is properly recognised

Just came to aee if anyone has commented on the name of this frag, dont know what the perfumer was thinking to when they named it. Apparently there is another one called "Boss Bitch". What happened to graceful, classy names or is it the norm to speak rubbish and sell garbage expensive. Daddy and tabac on the other hand are worth the price though. But again "Daddy" seriously WTH ATH.

This is for when you’re wearing a power suit and having your cigar at Montecristo. Definitely for the “boss bastard”. 24 hours later this still sticks to my skin. Not as harsh as red tobacco but just as beastly if not more so. If you can’t handle the name, you really can’t handle the fragrance (and should probably stick to safe scents).

Definitely a slept on ATH fragrance. Reminds me of my nanas house and it’s weirdly nostalgic for me. Strong, woody, clean tobacco, and sweet. Performance is great, 8+ hours on skin, days on clothes, strong sillage and projection. My first ATH fragrance and one of my most cherished.

Really enjoy wearing this. Not my usual scent profile, but I occasionally like to go awol. To my nose it’s like the aroma of a sordid sex house carpet that has been cleaned (ahem!) many times. Quite an erotic smell.

Someone needs to tell this guy that giving your fragrance a juvenile cringey name doesn't make it cool or different. Just makes me people want to say they're wearing something else.

Not my style at all (kourous type) I can see why people would love this though but just not for me. It's a real mans man scent hense the name. Aaron knows how to make fragrances

Ooooh yeah.. So glad this one has finally been added to Fragrantica.. Boss Bastard is up there in my top fragrances! The best fragrance from ATH hands down!

A great honey-sweet tobacco that last for the duration of the fragrance. To me this has no similarities to Naxos. I'm on to my second bottle.

On my skin it smells like a plethora of random burned out Incense sticks. I'll leave it a few months and see if changes
