Neon

I agree with the person below me that although some, but not all of his fragrances will remind us of other fragrances they are not clones, far from it, he does his own thing and in the 2023 version of Neon I got an association close to something like Aventus but on a totally different level. I went a little crazy the other day after buying his Hard Candy 2023 which is to die for and didn’t really put much thought in to which of his products that I bought next. I just looked at what seemed good for the seasons we are in right now and forgot I wasn’t a huge fan of the Aventus DNA because I didn’t like the smokey pineapple smell and got a little worried when I looked at the notes again. This has done wonders for me! I finally know what a good pineapple smells like and when done right can smell absolutely amazing. The wood is so sharp, dry yet fresh, the notes smell just so natural to me and that’s because he likes to work with natural ingredients. Especially in his Oud range. As I wore this yesterday I was sitting thinking finally something of that kind of DNA that is invigorating and I thought to myself, so this is what everyone felt when Aventus originally came out but with so many smelling like it now it is boring Neon 2023 however is not boring, and I think the people who love Aventus like fragrances if they buy this will find Aventus completely redundant. I was honestly wondering what to do with my bottles of rubbish like Club De Nuit Intense Man last night and whether I should bin it, Try sell it or just keep it as a reminder to never buy things like it again, because I barely wear it anyway and now I have this I know I will never wear it again. Same goes for Aventus, I would much rather wear Neon. I have actually become very distrusting of many YouTube reviewers who keep telling us clone houses smell so alike the real thing when you could go get something better than even the real thing and replace it with something new and exciting like Neon. The reason being is after I bought a few clones It put me off of certain notes like pineapple, lemon and smokey notes thinking well if these reviewers say they were so close to the real things that cost hundreds of pounds then they must be top class fragrances when in fact they smell awful. Stop listening to that nonsense. Now that I have smelled how notes like pineapple, smoke and lemon in one of Aaron’s other fragrances can be done , I now realise I love those notes because they were done right and are not cheap detergent smelling ingredients like in CDNIM. Speaking of cheap, what I love about Aaron is that he allows people who maybe can’t afford to pay huge prices for these natural notes with niche level products by giving us access with his 10ml bottles for great prices. The 10ml bottles come boxed and with as much detail as the 50ml bottles do so they don’t look like some cheap samples sitting in your collection. The 10ml bottles could also be great for people with a huge collection that have so many fragrances they like to rotate so much that they could just get those instead, but I do believe that once they have tried something like Aaron’s Hard Candy they will end up buying the 50ml bottles anyway which are pressurised so you use less and it lasts longer. Somewhere I kind of diverge from the reviewer below is that this smells like Legend. We all interpret things differently though. What I thought it reminded me more of is his Haze Extreme 2023 but that is on an entirely other level from Neon. That is like he took Neon and wanted to make his own Naxos out of the same DNA of Neon. They could actually be easily layered together come to think of it. Aaron has a sample kit of 25 fragrances for just £100. I have a few samples and the sample bottles are much better than the mainstream samples we usually get that have a rubbish atomiser on them. He just seems to be thinking about quality all the time from samples which come in a nice box stamped with his logo all the way up to his awesome 50ml bottles and the boxes they also come in. There are some of his fragrances missing from the database, but I will continue to post requests on the forum to have them added. Please if you want to help with that, it would be much appreciated. @RottigrlNYC That's strange seeing as you have written a few reviews about how beautiful they are and are selling back up bottles? Which is it, you hate them all, or they are beautiful? Or are the ones you are advertising to sell only beautiful until they are sold? Also, they all smell the same? Really, so Neon, Hard Candy, Legend all smell the same as something like Slut Elixir or Maverick. None of these i mentioned smell like each other, and i have a new release sample that is unnamed that smells nothing like these either.

I consider a clone to be a cheap version of a different fragrance, whereas "inspired by" fragrances are equally or almost as expensive and top quality ingredients. Neon is of the latter. I'll make it as simple as I can, dial the pineapple down in Creed Aventus then add lime and orange. This would be a very good alternative to Aventus, but owning both might be redundant. The average person probably wouldn't know the difference. This is expensive, high quality, and a classy bottle with Swarovski crystals. If you want a great fruity musky fragrance but don't want the same thing everyone else has, this might be for you.

This is very similar to Aventus although it is closer to Hacivat with the Oakmoss strength. A very good fragrance with a smooth pineapple balance up front. The dry down is where the oakmoss comes out. The Oakmoss isnt as strong as in Hacivat but its definitely prevalent. Longevity and sillage is top tier. A great fragrance.

Aventus with less woods but add lime.

This is great. It's a cheerful peppery citrus that reminds me a lot of Cédrat Intense from Parfums de Nicolaï, but which fixes CI's performance issues at the cost of some of CI's aesthetic nuance. It also reminds me of Terre d'Hermès even though it is ambroxan-forward and TdH is Iso-E Super-forward. It's not a challenging scent that would get you in trouble at work, as long as you express restraint in how much you spray of this strong stuff. (Flip side: quite linear and centered on simple notes, it's not a subtle, beguiling scent, either. It's simple, boisterous, and youthful.) At spray, I get citrus and pepper. Neon makes me intermittently anosmic in the first 15-20 minutes. (I've only experienced this with ATH frags, and I suspect it's an ambroxan thing.) Performance is extremely high. I have a story here. At 10 hours, I went on my usual 4.25-mile running loop, and it immediately proceeded to pour down rain for the first 15-20 minutes of the run. Finally home, soggy and tired, I took a nice warm shower. By the end of the shower, I was surrounded by a lovely gentle cloud of Neon. I haven't yet had a phase of life where perfume and gym usage coincided, but I suspect Neon would be a great gym bag fragrance. Like Cédrat Intense, I'm happy to have it around and will wear it for variety. And in fact I prefer it to CI because it sticks around all day. This might be a terrific signature fragrance for someone in their twenties. But I'm older, my tastes are rather more dressy and mature, and it doesn't threaten my warm-season pantheon (Nicolaï New York Intense as my professional signature, and TdH and Nishane Hacivat the rest of the time.)

Neon is bright, fruity, fresh, and zingy, mostly due to the lime and grapefruit notes. It shares similarities with fragrances like Bvlgari Tygar, particularly in the opening. However, it quickly distinguishes itself by introducing into the mix some spicy pepper that separates it from Tygar. In the dry down, it takes a direction similar to Elysium, with the vetiver becoming more prominent and enhancing the zesty character. However, beyond the combination of zesty fruitiness and vetiver, the similarities end in my opinion. Neon also shares some DNA with Aaron's other fragrance, Legend, which becomes more apparent in the later stages of the dry down, akin to Dior Sauvage. I consider Neon to be a good alternative to the aforementioned fragrances. Personally, I thoroughly enjoy the invigorating opening, particularly the combination of lime, grapefruit, and spicy pepper. It is perfect for the summer season. Neon is not a mere clone of anything, and I hope by highlighting its distinctive aspects, it helps those of you who are familiar with the mentioned fragrances to envision this fragrance, especially for those of us who like to blind buy.

Musky fruit bomb. Really well blended. The assemblage of notes takes on a passion fruit and pineapple accord toward the mid. Similar to Aventus, but better. The smokiness is replaced by ATH’s signature apple vodka chloroform thing he has going on. Dry down is nice. I’ll take a decant!

Anyone who thinks this smells like Aventus is clueless. Similarities with Tygar but muskier or darker.

This is in the same genre as tygar ... bright citrus with ambroxan on top of a woody base. The opening isn't as juicy or as high quality as tygar, or most of the others in the genre. The drydown was superior, however. I think the woods in Neon came across more clearly than in Tygar, which just turns into an amber / ambroxan mess. Longevity was superior, projection as well. Honestly, I was underwhelmed with this one, overall. It really should come in under $100 for the 50ml, as quality isn't beyond what you would find in bleu de chanel.

The musk in this doesn't go well on me. It's a bit redundant if you have supernova and haze ones. It's an ok fragrance to me. Nothing special about it IMHO. I think this one of his crowd pleaser frags. Office safe and year around (skipping very cold days perhaps) fragrgrance.

There are a lot of really good things going on in Neon. The myriad of fruit and the galbanum and musk is REALLY good- like very close Creed SMW or Aventus cologne good...but why the monstrous dose of Ambroxan. It's absolutely nuclear. Reminds me of Jeremy Office for Men actually. I like spraying my fragrances on my neck but it's disorienting to have this much ambroxan this close to my nose. It's probably even higher than the amount comparable in Sauvage if you want to get an idea of how high the amount is. I will say very good value for the 10 ml at $22 at Maxaroma.

Starts of very zingy fruity mainly I got good aventus style pineapple what stayed the full duration slight soft wood and the more fresh vetiver, probably stayed fresh and fruity for a good few hours then finished with some nice fruity musky skin scent for a few more Was completely gone after 6 hours 6/10. Two women actually said i smelt zesty as I walked past so it must project some lol.

This is one of the best fragrances from Aaron Terence Hughes. I have a collection of almost 20 fragrances by him and Neon is by far my favorite. I'd categorize it as a citrusy blue powdery fragrance with amazing performance. It lasts all day and is nuclear.

If Supersonic is an Aventus clone, this is a Club de Nuit Intense Man clone. This is scratchy and a lot more piercing than Supersonic. Not worth the price tag.
