Montecito

Quite nice, energizing blend vetiver and grapefruit, softened with jasmine. Smells natural - like all scents from the brand. It reminds me of some masculine scent I have smelled before but I can't recall which one. It's unisex, but leaning slightly masculine to my nose. Good for everyday wear. Big plus for offering healthier alternative to mainstream perfumes and not using known carcinogens and phthalates.

I love grapefruit and vetiver notes. When they are combined in the bottle of Montecito, the result is delicious! Montecito, like other Abbott NYC fragrances, smells fresh and pleasant. I feel it is on the feminine side, but it is very close to unisex so everyone may wear it. I can also see that some may call Montecito linear, but I actually appreciate the simplicity and the philosophy in creating the scent! The opening grapefruit note is eminent but doesn't last long. Middle note Jasmin comes in while grapefruit is disappearing. Then it is the lovely earthly basenote vetiver. I really enjoy Montecito but do wish it was greener with better longevity and sillage!

a very fresh and pleasant scent. I found that I didn't like it the first time I smelled it, but I kept coming back to it & it grew on me. I love the jasmine and vetiver, but the grapefruit is pretty much all it smells like when I wear it. I'm not big on grapefruit, so this is just okay. I like the way it smells on paper much more than how it smells on me.

Bright citrus, white floral, and Vetiver combo is delicious. Simple yet effective, reminds me of Maison Louie Marie No.09 Vallée de Farney, which is one of my favorites. Bold but not offensive.

Grapefruit and vinyl. Would not wear solo but could be layered.

This is my least favorite Abbott smell. They remind me a lot of Varvatos, in that they aren’t trying to be super common and generic. Except this one. It does last, and is safe and simple...which I don’t hate. Not bad layered with a sharp blue or green cologne to tone it down a bit.

So far many of the Abbott fragrances I have liked. ( I really love Telluride). When I tried it on my wrist, I did not smell anything. Maybe a whiff of white flowers, but when I put it on the warmer places of my body. It became worse. This one reminds me of pool vinyl, Armor-All or something of that ilk. (I think it is the Grapefruit/Jasmine blend that does it. In my mind they would not play well together.) It starts out pool vinylish and moves into Armor-all territory. Hopefully it will mellow out more. Otherwise it goes into the hate baggie.

Sharp and sour grapefruit with white flowers. But the combination creates something like a plastic vinyl scent. Reminds me of a hot summer day where your beach ball is roasting in the sun and giving off fumes, sticky with spilled grapefruit juice. By the end of the day the grapefruit is more sugary and the flowers are softer. But it took a long time to get there. I'm sure there's something similar out there that's not as aggressive.

I don't like leaving negative reviews, but this was really unpleasant. Synthetic as all get out. Harsh, almost disinfectant/chemical aroma. The (synthetic) jasmine accord further lends a urinous/ clean public restroom vibe. Sorry. 1/5
