Cuoio Dei Dolci

What i get initially is a very spicy and clove-heavy cacao and vanilla scent, which is weird since there's no clove in this fragrance. There's also a pretty heavy dose of that animalic musk background note from the castoreum. It's possible the castoreum is what gives it that incense/clove smell. Honestly i think i'd like this more without the castoreum. It drags it down and makes it quite a heavy scent, much better suited for the cold months. It also kind of makes it less of a gourmand and more like a spicy incense-y scent, kind of like potpourri. It's like a cookie with too much cinnamon/nutmeg/spice and not enough sugar, it's inedible but still smells very tempting nonetheless. This fragrance is quite unisex. I'll have to report back on its sillage and longevity once i have a better idea. Initial impression is that it's got somewhat weak sillage which is odd for such a bold fragrance. Definitely try before you buy because this fragrance doesn't fall neatly into any one category.

Interesting, I get chocolate with tonka bean but the smokiness sets it apart from the typical gourmand. It's not overly sweet, just really balanced. Something about it reminds me of ghallager wicked good but this one has more of a story to tell and more complex.
