Milano Caffe

Like some here I’ve had to revisit this and some of the other products in La Via Del Profumos line up that I have blind bought. At first like Tabac I found this to be vinegary almost urinic rather than balsamic. Sort of in the vain of Czech and Speake Cuba though with an eventual softening in the dry down. At first this put me off but I’m enjoying the subtleties. Below describes it as having a cedar chest with spices in it which is a brilliant description stating they could not smell the coffee. I can and infact I would give the same description except I would also add it’s like someone also spilt black airline coffee in it too and it’s dried on the wood. This perfume is about personal intimate delicacy not about a blatant loud coffee scent. Same with tabac, same but tobacco. Sort of subtle coffee waft whilst your in anTirkish Spice bazaar. So, in the end I like this though I would rarely wear it, maybe on a sunny afternoon, sun streaming into the home office, cat on the desk while your working sort of scenario - maybe a few hours before your shower. A warm cosseting fuzzy scent. Not super powerful, wouldn’t buy a large bottle but might go for another cheap 15ml when it runs out...

Milano Caffe is supposed to be one of the best coffee scents out there. coffee? a bit. but the opening also has brandy and rich dark chocolate, which I initially find a bit nauseating and over the top. a few minutes in, it settles down into a not-too-sweet, chewy-spicy amber with a dark chocolatey nuance. Most “chocolate” notes in perfume are actually patchouli and Milano Caffe is probably a patchouli in disguise; rich, warm, dense to the point of gooeyness, set off with a bit of aquiline sharpness and golden glitter from the spices and woods. (Cardamom? Sandalwood?) once it settles, Milano Caffe is actually growing on me, even though I’m not a chocolate person and the weather’s really too hot for heavy amber perfumes. The woods and spices are truly beautiful and give it a lift that other heavy chocolatey patchoulis (like Jovoy Psychedelique) lack. In the far drydown it’s more of a deeply ambered wood-and-spice scent than anything else. Nominally masculine but feels potentially unisex; you just have to like dark/sweet scents. Milano Caffe has a certain nobility of spirit, a dignity, which moves me. I’m won over despite myself.

I purchased this and I didn't want to write a review right away because I wanted to give it some time to evolve and grow on me. This has a very vintage feel to it, especially in the beginning. The first initial spray smell is not my favorite, it's very harsh almost medicinal and not very pleasant. But after about 5 minutes it turns into a bitter coffee chocolate, latte smell, but not in a sweet way sugary way. This perfume is definitely not sweet, but it has a very Italian feel to it. It's very complex, the coffee, bitter chocolate, latte smell stays around for about 1 hour, then it gets more woodsy but a bitter chocolate note shines through here and there. I also get a bit of Shalimar similarity in it, somewhere in the beginning. I wouldn't wear this out, but I love this in the morning with when I'm having my coffee. I would say it's a perfume for your self, and it grows on you over time. I'm glad to have it in my collection. Now, I really want to get their Amber Chocolate next, It's not in the database yet, but I have a feeling it's going to be quite amazing.

i received a sample with purchase of a few full bottles of other abdes salaam products. i now have 10 fbs. like many of the other scents from this house, this excels close to the skin. warm and beautiful. however, as commented, there is not a lot of coffee punch here.starting with a chocolate almost fudge hit with some floral, followed by is gentle spice and amber. definitely not espresso but a creamy mocha coffee flavor concoction with sweet artificial whipped cream. in the dry down, it reminds me of mecca balsam. i realize that often i enjoy soft private fragrance and this fits the bill nicely. however, pleasant it is, i do find other fragrances from via del profumo more to my taste: mecca balsam, sharif, legno di nave, all of which bring me back for more. samurai and oakmoss have more vibrant personalities. both of the frankincense and myrrh are nice strong on their own and good for layering with aggressive floral/fruit scents. my other bottles call to me depending on my mood. despite my lukewarm response, i think this would be great for those looking for relatively mellow and easy. decidedly sample worthy. happy to have sampled it, but maybe in baseball terms it's a single, not a homerun

After being blown away by amber chocolate I knew I had to try some more from this house. Well.... Boy this one was extremely underwhelming. If you are looking for a coffee scent look else where. Very little coffee if any that I could pick up. Some bitter dark chocolate in there. But honestly for me this was just a very earthy, patchouli, woody, sorta.. old cabinet?, dusty, dry... I cant think of anything really positive to say about this off hand. It doesnt smell bad or anything. Just nothing stuck out to be, got caught up in the name and was expecting something else I guess. More of something seems like you would wear if you wanted to have some nostalgic trip somewhere, a sorta vibe youre thinking of. But nothing that smells "good" to me. Reading the notes it still baffles me even while reading the review. Oh well, looks can be deceiving sometimes. Ill of course come back to it again and retest but in my one wearing of im gonna give this a pass.

I would agree with the previous reviewer in that people who are looking for a great coffee scent will probably be let down. Perhaps there is some coffee in there but it doesn't stand out to me. That said, I think the descriptors balsamic, woody and warm spicy are SPOT ON! I would agree that it smells like a cedar chest in which you've kept some spices and incense. I love it for that reason! Dark, spicy, outdoorsy and masculine. It is all natural which I love but it doesn't seem to be lasting very long. I will edit this post when the day ends with a final note on longevity. Silage is good. As I expected, it soon becomes a somewhat light skin scent. The more I smelled it on me the more I came to think that it reminds me of something like Youth Dew. More spice and amber than anything. That's just my nose's take on it.

Sounds deep and intense, please somebody that has sampled give a review. Is it long lasting, gourmand, too bitter, creamy, milky? Please do tell...
