Muschio di Quercia (Oak Moss)

A holy grail scent for me. This is very woodsy and reminiscent of conifers without containing any conifer notes. The oakmoss (and for me this is definitely all about the oakmoss, although vetiver is there, too) is such a deep, multifaceted note here--it contains multitudes. The projection is light but longevity is good, so just spray some on your neck and you'll get nice wafts throughout the day. Usually when a long time elapses between reading about a fragrance and smelling it, I'm disappointed, but not so here. I've been wanting to try this for years, and it did not disappoint.

Yes, for me too, this is vetiver. I adore vetiver, and so this is a wonderful perfume for me. Guest_Colin Maillard has described my experience beautifully for me. It's really superb. Thank you. This is a perfect fragrance as far as I'm concerned, and I love wearing it all the time. And wonderful colour; it exactly expresses how I feel when I'm wearing it: natural and pure and true. Sublime.

I would rather say a deceptive name for a beautiful silent symphony built around 1. sandalwood then 2. Vetiver. When i spray it i can first smell a lot of sandalwood, which lingers till the end. Its nicely ballanced and composed. A bit pricey though (i bet it's Mysore) ^^

This is a wonderfully deep & complex woodsy fragrance with wet soil & mossy tones, but I prefer Providence Moss Gown :)

This is cedar wood all the way. I have just read an interview with Abdes Salaam and he confesses this fragrance contains Cedarwood and vetiver. Not on the description when I bought it. I compared it with my Cedarwood oil (£3.50 for 50ml) and they are identical. My Cedarwood having hours of staying power, unlike the ‘Oakmoss’ Salaam produces. Considering his fragrance came to me in two tiny 5ml vials for £50 I feel justly ripped off. He included a 2ml container of Cuoio Tartaro, which I liked, evoked a memory of somewhere I love but I can’t place it. The fragrance lasts mere minutes so I won’t be buying it.

This is the same fragrance as "Oakmoss" by this manufacturer respectively by this house. It is simply a different filling size and therefore it should be merged with the entry listed as "similar" above.

It was the only one of the five ones I tried from this house that I like ''a little''. The oakmoss is much more intense than the vetiver. A nice scent but too masculine for me.
