Palermo Don Corleone

A blind buy for me from La Vie del Profumo's Italian series, this ultra-strong animalic gourmand will be polarizing for some...while others will be smitten. The simple construct of vanilla, tuberose and tobacco is boozy and sweet, just on the cusp of being syrupy without crossing the line. Enigmatic and alluring as hell for those who can tolerate the gourmand pungency, projecting rugged class and masculinity. Regardless of the "novelty" of its name, it actually makes perfect sense and need not be off-putting. Perhaps best suited for a darker complected, oilier body chemistry, and more fitting for cool, evening semi-formal wear. A side note: I was led to La Vie del Profumo's product line via several studied perfume reviews, and am ultimately pleased with the three blind buys that I made, including this one. While samples sent with my first order suggest that several of their other scents are quite incense-heavy, I'm also still on the fence as to just how strong the formulations are. The current rate on the 34ml bottle of Palermo Don Corleone is 95 euros, which clocks in at the moment at $107 USD. Again, this is a great scent for those in the market for an overtly sexy, masculine, boozy-sweet animalic gourmand. I will say though that I recommend sampling first, as there doesn't seem to be any indication as to whether this or their other scents are EDC's, EDT's, or EDP's and, if I didn't know any better, I'd say they perform more like EDC's. Not a deal breaker per se, but just be prepared for the questionable longevity and projection given the price tag. Otherwise, enjoy this uniquely seductive, classy-but-street-smart scent. ★★★ (out of ★★★★).

To me, Don Corleone smells like sweet coffee liqueur, and something darker and leathery-animalic underneath. It's beautifully rich and complex. No tuberose, really, just sweet boozy-brown delight. At half an hour in, it's lighter in tonality and more vanillic -- a dense, deep vanilla, light brown and complicated with something that might be floral. This phase reminds me of heavy antique lace. in the drydown, it just gets more and more pure vanilla, in a golden, liquored style. Don Corleone is one of my favorite vanillas so far: as dark as it gets, boozy, densely textured and complex. Despite the name, it's not especially masculine; would work on anyone who likes sweetness that doesn't compromise on depth. Close to skin and not too loud, but still quite legible.

For me this scent did not appear really maaculine at all but calming and comforting and without gender, unisex. Vanilla and pipe tobacco. I was worried that the tobacco note would be too powerful. I do not wish to smell like tobacco. But no. The note grew a little in intensity from the beginning but then fell again behind vanilla never overpowering or making the scent too masculine for a woman to wear. In the end it was mainly sweet vanilla. If there is tuberose it is not powerful. This is not really a tuberose scent...I guess tuberose is there just to add a touch of beauty to the main notes. This is mainly a dark vanilla scent. I want a bottle of this for the winter.

Palermo Don Corleone La Via del Profumo for women and men اسم الشركة الإيطالية المصنعة للعطر هو " La Via del Profumo " إيلي فيا ديل بريفومو، وتعني بالعربية طريق الأنف بَلَرْم كما سماها العرب أو باليرمو بالإيطالية Palermo هي مدينة إيطالية، وعاصمة إقليم صقلية الذاتي الحكم وكبرى مدنه. وقد ارتبط اسم باليرمو في أواخر القرن الماضي بأذهان المصريين خاصة بمبارة كرة القدم الشهيرة بين المنتخب والمصري ونظيره الهولندي ضمن فعاليات كأس العالم وعبارة المعلق المصري الشهير ميمي الشربيني حينما احتسب الحكم ضربة الجزاء الأشهر في تاريخ الكرة المصرية "عدالة السماء تنزل على استاد باليرمو" لكن باليرمو عند العطرجي دومينيك دوبرانا كان لها ارتباط بشيئين الأول: دون كورليوني وهو اسم للشخصية السينمائية ضمن سلسلة أفلام الأب الروحي وهذا قد اختاره ليكون اسما لهذا العطر الثاني: الفانيليا الصقلية وهي التي سكبها داخل زجاجة عطره. يذكر دومينيك أن فكرة العطر بدأت من خلال استنشاقه لرائحة الفانيليا المميزة والتي تفوح من رجال ونساء صقلية أثناء سيره في شوارع باليرمو، وربما يرجع هذا لشغف الصقليين الشديد بالحلوى والمعجنات المرتبطة برائحة الفانيليا المستخدمة فيها. رائحة الفانيليا بدت لدومينيك مميزة وغامضة وشهوانية فقرر أن يقتنص هذه الرائحة ويمزجها بالتيوب روز مع التوباكو داخل زجاجة هذا العطر والذي يقول أنه خرج ذكوري قوي ولكنه في نفس الوقت سهل الارتداء بالنسبة للسيدات. وهذه هي نقطة الغموض أو المعادلة الصعبة للعطر. العطر مع بداياته سيكون بالفعل قويا سيطرة تامة لنوتة تبغية قوية يقبع خلفها التيوب روز زهرة التيوب روز أو مسك الروم البيضاء القوية إلتحمت بقوة مع التبغ بشكل قد يجعلها غير ظاهرة أو ملحوظة على خلاف عادتها الصارخة هناك سر ما في نوعية التوباكو الذي استخدمه دومينيك وجعلت منه مروضا بل ساحرا يمكنه اخفاء التيوب روز في طياته أنا أرجح استخدامه في التقطير لأوراق توباكو طازجة غير مجففة لوجود نوتة خضراء تأتي من بعيد ثم تختفي بحيث يصعب التقاطها بسهولة. حتى هذه النقطة العطر ذكوري قوي لا يتقبله إلا محبي نوتة التوباكو القوية المركزة. الكثيرون سيرون أن العطر بلا ثبات لأنهم بعد قليل لن يجدوا لهذه الرائحة أي وجود فيظنوا أن العطر قد تلاشى. أنا وضعت قطرات من العطر على ظهر يدي قبل النوم وفي الصباح وأنا أقلب في أوراقي شممت رائحة ما لعطر لا أملكه فأخذت ابحث بين عطوري أو على مكتبي عن شيء يصلح لأن يكون مصدر هذه الرائحة حتى انتبهت أنني أشم هذه الرائحة كلما رفعت يدي المتعطرة قبل النوم بعطر بالريمو للأمانة .. هي ليست بالقوة الكافية لأن تشمها من بعد أو أن تجدها حولك بالمكان وأيضا ليست الرائحة التبغية العنيفة لكنها فانيليا ذات طبيعة خاصة فعلا كما ذكر دومينيك ولهذا ذكر أن العطر سهل الارتداء للسيدات فالعطر يبدأ بنوتة تبغية قوية وفي الخلفية التيوب روز ثم ينتهي أو يستمر بنوتة الفانيليا الكريمية السويتية –الغير منفرة- وفي الخلفية ستجد التوباكو والتيوب روز. فالعطر بهذا يبدأ ذكوري عنيف وبعد فترة سينقلب للكريمية والنعومة والتي سيدوم معها العطر لنهايته فالعطر بلا نوتة وسطية، فقط افتتاحية وقاعدة العطر بلا أدنى شك نقي نقاءا يفوق الكثير من العطور النيشية لضمان طبيعية مكوناته وهذا حتما سيكون على حساب الثبات والفوحان ملحوظة: العطر مختلف تماما عن عطر توم فورد توباكو فانيليا

89th I purchased a 15-ml bottle from Italy. It is a true to life cured/dried, moist hay-like cigar tobacco and hefty bourbon(?) vanilla. Both compliment and balance each other. There is also a lovely floral note, which I assume is tuberose, but more watery and tart. It is not your standard tuberose and it stands out like a lady amongst the roughness of the tobacco and vanilla. The note contrasts play well together. Unfortunately, I didn’t use this fast enough and the tuberose note burned off by 3 years. I wish I used it more because it was unique with the interesting tuberose note. Now I am left with a weaker tobacco and vanilla blend after 4 years and I really miss the contrast aroma of the tuberose. Lesson here: use up the natural blends faster and store them properly, as they are more volatile. 8/10 for realistic vanilla tobacco composition and a unique tuberose for contrast.
