Oud Abiyad

Interesting scent. The oud here is very gentle, not skanky at all. What I get is a sexy scent, expecially after the opening which is a little bit medicinal. This is not a challenging or a difficult perfume. I like it and the price point is just right to me. Longevity is good, not extraordinary but more than decent. Projection is not beast mode and this was expected as it is a oil, it became more noticeable with the movement of the body. Overall a very good composition, even for beginners and I think the it can be weared all year round. Moreover, for those who wants an even more gentle (but not weaker) and versatile version of this perfume there is also another fragrance, from the same house but not listed on fragrantica yet, which is called oud abiyad Manhattan, it works perfect as a work/office scent.

I have Oud Abiyad Manhattan which is discontinued. Manhattan is the lighter version of this Oud Abiyad. They now have limited Oud Abiyad Brooklyn which is also the lighter version of this original Oud Abiyad. Back in Jan Feb 2019 I got an attar from Nathdwara Rajasthan in India and fell in love. The price was cheap and the fragrance was awesome. The shopkeeper did mention if I wanted something fresh and urbany and oudy. Am glad i had bought it and kept using less coz who knew when will i go back again to buy again. Then, I bought this in Feb 2020 and opened today i.e. 08/22/2020. And this one is exaclty like the one I bought back in 2019. That small shop vendor and AKAL both had similar take on the fragnance name wise. Fresh, citrusy, oudy, sweet, musky, powdery. LOVE IT !!

I get some lemon and some soft pepper in the opening followed by a creamy sandalwood, light musk and an addictive sweet & resinous oud

This starts really eucalyptic and generally medicinal in a good way. It tingled my nose. Then you get an almost sexy juicy oud that leads to a tart earl grey note. Really easy to appreciate oud. If only the sweetness would be a bit tamed during the dry down.

I admit that while I'm attracted to Arabian perfume artistry, I could not handle real arabian ouds until now. This is the most easy-to wear while still real oud I know. I highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for his/her very first oud-experience from Arabian perfumery. Citrusy, fresh, addictive, yet very simple. I don't find it too sweet either.

Just found Brooklyn version in my closet. It's been sitting in there for at least a year. All I can say is that it has one of the most beautiful dry-down in my history of collecting perfumes, attars, etc. Sublime. Masterpiece.

Got it for free from AKAF when I ordered 4 others. Really nice, smells like AdP Colonia Oud.
