Oud Borneo

Very dry oud fragrance (very safe, no barnyard note at all in this one), very woody with a beautiful smoky note. There's a bit of vanilla and patchouly that give it a very slightly sweet boozy feel to it. Linear and beautiful, smells very natural and soft, this is more a personal experience. A still only have a sample, but I find this one beautiful for blending, I mean, until now it blends perfectly with everything, giving it a woody smoky feel to it (btw when I got it it was named oud kalimatan, then it disappeared from the store, when I asked Abdul Karim he said the name changed to Oud Borneo, so I'm pretty sure Oud Kalimatan and Oud Borneo are the same, still need to check it again when I order it).

Fragrance starts a little harsh but softens down to a very nice woody/oud scent with a little smoke in the background. very very similar to Al Haramains Dehn Al Oud Kalimantan so if you already have that maybe leave this one & choose another from the AKAF range so you dont double up on scents my rating: 4/5

I got this for my spouse and it is a quite linear scent. There is a lot of wood in it, the vanilla is hardly noticable and the patchouli is also very discreet. The oud is there but very smooth. I have a vanilla perfume oil and I dabbed it on my wrists and then I did the same with the Oud Borneo. As soon as the swetness from the vanilla mixed it self together with this smoky, woody pefume, it got very interesting. If you want to try this combo, go easy with the vanilla though. I also tried it with a tonka bean/ benzoin oil, but the vanilla combo was absolutely the best. I think this also would be great to layer with a rose fragrance. You can absolutely wear the Oud Borneo just by it self, it is a very special treat of wood and smoke. Then close youre eyes and you will be transported to an old wooden lodge with a fireplace gazing. Perfect for the cold days and very comforting.

Some spices, fresh chopped timber, wet leaves, guggal incense is all I smell. Not even resembles any oud, Original or synthetic. Don't waste money on this one. To smell it you have to put your wrist near the nose. And It lasts for less than a hour then fades away totaly.
