Al Qurashi Blend

@tecfield you may feel bad about buying a luxurious dupe but you are 100% wrong here. Qurashi Blend is so old, that most people aren't even sure about it's date of origin, just like the exact date of the establishment of the brand itself. The Family of Abdul Samad Al Qurashi started doing the first fragrances built around Oud as early as the mid 1850s. Qurashi Blend and Blue Sapphire are built around an Oud composition. This DNA itself is as oriental as it gets. THIS IS WHY THE ORIENTAL GENRE EXISTS ! Because the orient makes perfumery so different. You really think one of the OGs of oriental oud perfumery has to copy an english hairdressers creations to make an oud fragrance ? Even the vaporizer perfume version is said to be released around 2003, some say 2006. There was even a very old picture of the 2000s versions bottle here on fragrantica until they changed it to the newer bottle a couple of years ago. Now let's talk about Boadicea. BTV is a copycat niche brand established in London by an english hairdresser named Michael Boadi, in 2003, that's the rumored and probably even wrong date of the qurashi blend fragrance. Blue Sapphire came out in 2013 and is just like a lot of other BTV (Consort and Champion - Aventus/Hacivat, Ardent - Noir de Noir, Bodacious - Lost Cherry, Amethyst - Oajan) a creation built around an existing successful composition, just with a twist. They are even copying stuff from parfums de marly which is a reactionary niche brand itself. BTV have their own creations but most of their successful fragrances are fancy packaged dupes with good ingredients (quality is definitely there). You need to 1. get your facts right and 2. put some respect on the originals names. Just because you payed 700-800 bucks on an overpriced product doesn't mean it's the original mate. You got fooled but at least don't spread misinformation if you have absolutely zero evidence for your claims.

This is out of this world, a real statement. Not for shy people, nor for people that doesn’t feel comfortable being smelled before seen either. It’s opulent, rich, elegant and very oriental for western or untrained noses. High quality ingredients, complex and hard to describe because the blending is just perfectly done. It’s bright but thick, it’s oudy (but not animalic to my nose) but not offensively oudy. It’s loud and powerful, and it dances with you, very attractive, like there is a light pointing at you every time you wear it. It’s 98% exactly like Blue Sapphire to my nose, specially in the dry down. Fruity, citrusy floral, spicy and Woody made to perfection, and a bit less sweet than Blue Sapphire (which I prefer) This is class, elegance and wealth, perfect for any occasion (day, night, date, events...) but only formal ones. A perfume for people with a lot of personality and good taste, perfectly unisex (I would die to smell this on a man), a 10/10.

This is a masterpiece. I don't say that lightly. I hated it at first, I thought the citrus element was too strong and sharp. But kept trying it, I thought "there is no way this many people think so highly of it and after one application I have come to a decision." It is addictive, easily has jumped to being one of my favorite fragrances. Gorgeous. I just wish it lasted a bit longer, I don't think it needs anymore oud (although I would be interested to smell what that would be like, and I also don't think there is much oud in here and I doubt it is natural, could be wrong, can someone dig one this one...). Now I want to see what Blue Sapphire is like, because they could have done this DNA better, its possible. But jeez, man oh man, I am in love with this and will buy (and probably need very soon) another bottle when this is done.

This is based just on one test-I got a sample set and there was only just enough for one application and I found it difficult to sort out the notes. Initially, there was a strong medicinal-herbal note together with spice. I found clove and a star anise note. This settled very quickly to sandalwood and oud. Unusually, the citrus came in late rather than early. After about an hour it smoothed out to a lovely woody powder note. There was no floral really and no sweetness. It lasted about 4 hours (worn on a warm but misty day) and sillage was moderate. To me, this was a mature, worldly and rather erotic fragrance, and very definitely unisex. I loved this, but it would be very difficult to wear I think as its such a distinct and unusual fragrance.

I confirm that this blend is repackaged and you can find also a "special "edition" in production. I have the Special Edition and...Omg this is like heaven. A perfect balance between sweetness, woodiness and spiciness with a touch of citrus note.It's pretty complex and very well blended so it's a little bit difficult to catch all the notes but the result is truly amazing. I agree that this perfume has the same vibe as Safari Extreme but with less florals notes. Very similar indeed but not identical of course. It reminds me also a little bit of tuscan leather. Very sesunal fragrance. In my opnion it's more on the masculine side but, of course, this is subjective. Strong persistence and projection. A great perfume, highly recommended.

A real powerhouse fragrance!! My partner sprayed this in the kitchen and 30 minutes later the whole downstairs smelled of it. An hour later still leaving a scent trail everywhere. A true room filler! I won't waste any time trying to describe it as its pretty much impossible. Test it yourself. We both love it, it's beautiful. On another note: Al Qurashi blend has reviews online dating back to 2006, long before Blue Saphire existed. Also it has not gone unnoticed that Boadicea The Victorious aren't afraid of copying other perfumes closely, then adding a much higher price tag for prestige, which is a marketing strategy that works, even if it is a questionable practice.

This is the fragrance I was looking for a long time. It's the first fragrance that caught my attention the first time I went to Middle East 15 years ago. This is what expensive and opulence was in my head for a long time. This is what you get when you find that perfect harmony of citrus, oud, taif rose and saffron. The florals are there to "unstink" the well aged oud, with the sweet lemon preventing it from becoming heavy and cloying. Once you've taken in those scents, the musked spices and amber/ambergris arrive paving the way for the woody notes, giving you a last impression you will never forget. Masterpiece. This is my favorite ME scent of all time.

This is top notch niche perfumery. Starts with boozy amber with hint of spices. After few mins Oud and high quality soft woods start to shine. At this stage boozy touch recedes. Oud is not skanky at all, very high quality tame oud elevates the blend. Late dry down has floral woody base. I have used/ tried 100 plus designers and niche perfumes but this one has most prominent, three stage transition. Projection at start is very good, however it mellows down a bit quickly. I now know that perfumes improve their performance in a month time so i am expecting much more. Gorgeous blend. I love it. 10/10 for me.

So my introduction to this was through smelling blue sapphire and fell in love. After hearing that the OG was this ASAQ Qurashi blend I waited jumped on a bottle. So a blind buy I guess in a way. But this is amazing having the lighter notes blending in a way that isn’t lost over time, and bringing out some sweeter nuances in the white oud. Wow. Long lasting with a pleasant sillage and projection. It’s very addictive and I think it’s a fragrance that can lead people into more artful and more oud like fragrances. Really desperate to get my nose on the rest in this line.

Year-round beast mode fragrance. It has heavily influenced BtV Blue Sapphire and Aramis Calligraphy. Will not recommend more than 2 sprays or even 1 for closed environments/office. It lasts all day and projects for 8+ hours. End of fall is the best time to wear it IMO. This was my first purchase from the brand ASAQ At the very first sniff I liked it very much. Then I bought 3 bottles 1 for me two for the friends after that I bought many of their perfumes. Most perfumes have very high quality ingredients with niche smell now I own more then 6 from this brand and all are awesome but Qureshi blend is still on top. A very pleasant smell for dense perfume lovers . Only for winters . Longevity 10/9.5 Projection 10/9

Strictly not for insecure people. Once you spray this beast, there is a high chance of you staying away from any other amber perfumes. Top tier amber with slightly sweet oud. For grand occasions and once in a while office wear. You’ll get bored of it if you purchase this for daily wear. The first 10 minutes explodes like a volcano and then it settles down radiating the amazingness for the next 6 hours. Middle eastern sauce!

Boadicea copies this, adds some unnecessary floral notes, smacks a sapphire on the bottle and sells it for 4 times the price. What a joke. I'm so glad I stumbled upon this stuff, it smells absolutely amazing. A lot more masculine leaning compared to Blue Sapphire, plus the bottle design & packaging is much more luxurious and visually appealing. THIS IS IT!! Get your nose on this stuff guys!

I’ve heard that this is very smokey, citrusy, salty ocean vibes. Tbh I don’t get any of that, it’s mainly a noticeable big dose of natural refined slightly smokey oud, with some soft powdery musk and florals. Not bad at all. Would go amazing with some incense. It’s kinda like what Oud Satin Mood wanted to be, actually has oud, not baby wipes

I consider this a unique middle eastern perfume and it smells niche all the way, You get high quality ingredients with a complex composition plus the great performance, I've smelled many perfumes and so far I didn't smell something like it! and it's even better when you smell it in the air, easily one of my favorites.

This is one of the richest and most complex fragrances, suitable for luxurious occasions. The fragrance combines oud, sandalwood and Italian lemon, the performance is powerful...projecting and Long lasting fragrance... I love using it for special occasions all year round but especially in winter...

This is an absolute masterpiece. It smells royal and something a king would wear. Very up class smooth scent with room filling presence without being in your face. Blue Sapphire pretty much ripped this off and but this one smells much higher quality than Blue Sapphire.

I love the smell so much. but it is not lasting for long hours and ppl can barely smell it from you. although it is a very luxury fragrance and smell. it is overpriced specially for its concentration as it is EDP and its price is for Parfum.

Incredibly well blended perfume. Masterpiece. Unique in that it can be worn in any season yet at the same time very difficult to think of an occasion to wear it. For people who believe Middle Eastern houses just do crude knockoffs

Fresh citrus, fruity-floral, musky, w(oody) perfection. Radiates off my skin. I wanted BTV Blue Sapphire, but heard that it's just a well-blended clone of this OG. So I decided to just get the Original. Strong but tame.

Peppery, clean oud, with a salty smokiness that makes it addictive. Smoky, woody, fresh, sweet, fruity, all at once and at the right ratios. Genuinely puts most western oud fragrances to shame, it's a masterpiece.

Blue Sapphire's dad and OG of them all. Citrusy/candied lemon, fresh/salty ambergris, wafts of honeyed florals and burning bakhoor. That's the review.

This might be one of the best oud fragrances oat. this smells so rich and well blended. worth your money.

This is 10/10 very unique fresh but base heavy clean but rich substantial scent.

Wow, they finally added this more than 10 years after its release! This is one of the first ASAQ fragrances I had, after this everything else just seemed to pale in comparison. For the record the correct notes, are as follows; "Top notes: Bergamot, Star Anise, Musk, White Lily Heart notes: Cedarwood, Taif Rose, Lilac, Woody Base notes: Agarwood, Sandalwood, Amber, Pure Old Oud" As it goes, managed to get this on the 50% sale, the packaging is top notch as befits the actual price of around USD 200. This is a fruity, fresh, sweet fragrance with amber and agarwood in the drydown. It is as the name says, a stellar blend as none of the notes in the fragrance are entirely dominant, so effectively it can appeal to the middle eastern crowd, as well as everyone else. It has everything going for it, it is fresh, mildly fruity, floral, ambery, woody with an oud vibe. Its like it covers all scent profiles, except leather. You will feel like royalty whenever you put this on. All seasonal scent? Non, more suitable for Autumn and Winter Unisex? Yes Blind buy worthy? It is better to sample, as some may find it too strong or bordering on the unisex type Performance? Like a Rage Against the Machine song blasting out the speakers, abrasively loud! Longevity, easy 12 hours tops and stays on clothes forever, with excellent projection and sillage. A 90 ML bottle will last you forever as you only need to douse a few sprays. However to my utter disappointment, my family thinks its too loud and overpowers every other smell in the vicinity. My kid gave me the side eye after smelling this on me.......

TOP NOTES: Bergamont, Orange Blossom, Ylang Ylang MIDDLE NOTES: Sandalwood, Spices, Apple BASE NOTES: Kalakasi Oud, White Musk, Amber Abdul Samad Al Qurashi really make some bad cheap perfumes, and make very extraordinary ones as well. The problem with Abdul Samad is that they don't have one type of client in the Middle East they are from all walks of life, and by that you cannot call it an accessible brand or a luxury brand, even though they sell $30,000 Oud oils, they also sell $10 perfume oils. Let's now talk about some of their extraordinary perfumes, the Al Qurashi Blend by ASQ. This fragrance is a classic powdery oriental. The fragrance is warm and has a soft sweetness from the amber. It's not the type of harsh amber it's elegant. The spice note balances out the sweetness and makes it more unisex rather than feminine. There is the slightest undertone of the Kalakasi Oud which is usually an animalic type of Oud but here it's very soft. This is all balanced out by the white musk note. I enjoyed this fragrance, I would definitely recommend this. (The bottle does not look like this anymore. Fragrantica, please change the picture) PS: This smells a lot like Blue Sapphire by Boadicea, but Blue Sapphire is much more "oudhy". ★★★★☆

This follows a similar spirit to King Blue by Amouage, yet it’s completely different when it comes to the smell itself. The oud, for one, is distinct and much more restrained, and the contrasts between the top and base notes feel smoother and less dramatic. I’d describe it as a “dancing” fragrance: the notes seem to move fluidly, constantly shifting as you wear it. In that sense, it truly feels like a masterpiece. In the heart, I mainly pick up rose/oud, which eventually settles into an amber-musky drydown. The musk adds a slight masculine edge, although the fragrance overall comes across as unisex. It’s blended so seamlessly that no single note dominates, which also makes it somewhat hard to pin down. The opening projection is huge and easily fills a room, or a house, I should say. It softens after a while but continues to project well for at least three hours. The musky drydown arrives later and is a very welcome touch, wrapping up the scent’s evolution beautifully.

It’s my first fragrance from the brand Heard a lot about it and from what I remember it’s the most popular outside the Middle East So I had to buy it Actually I blind bought it Sprayed it on skin it started with something even I couldn’t believe I’m smelling It was sweet and sour at the same time very close to mango Although I wasn’t impressed initially but after the opening the mid and dry down were very good Sprayed it on a paper and it was almost the same maybe more earthy on paper but the pleasant surprise is when I wore it on clothes It was incredible there was a saffron like hue that I didn’t get on skin and paper which I was very happy with it Enjoyed it the whole night and it lasted as much as I wanted A very good fragrance and I’m looking forward to wear it more

First spray it was fantastic--citrusy, edgy (like oudy or slightly petrol like), and powdery! I compared it against my BTV Blue Sapphire sample and it smelled nearly identical, so I sprayed in several points (possibly oversprayed), but after about 30 min to an hour it smelled too masculine to me, on both clothes and skin. The card I sprayed I was still enjoying so I am not sure. It may just need a lighter hand or different weather. In sampling BTV BS I didn't notice this before, but maybe it was always there, I just hadn't encountered the same conditions. It is currently very hot where I live so I am going to try to sample again in the peak of winter. I will update if anything changes in 6 months.

A good offering from ASAQ, similar to Blue Sapphire and Majalis in the opening only to me, it has a sweet, raspberry-like smell with woodiness, Al Qurashi Blend then drys down into a floral-herbal scent with undertones of saffron and oud and loses some of the initial sweetness. I love the way it transitions but some people may not enjoy it, the blending quality is also very smooth and rich considering the low price. Totally unisex, IMO, maybe slightly masculine. Longevity and projection are very good but not overpowering. 7/10 Good but not mind-blowing.

I’ve been extremely curious about this for a few weeks and finally got a sample. My honest thoughts is that this fragrance is bold, has a lot of depth and very unique. I smell the Oud but it’s not skanky, just adds a prominent woody nuance. I also get the lemon and amber and combined it gives it a very heavy, masculine but well blended experience. Now all that aside I don’t think this is for me but I see why people like this. It’s very different and unique. I wouldn’t call this mass appealing because of the scent profile but I also don’t think this is as divisive as people make it seem. I think still at the end of the day it’s smells good but I wouldn’t want a full bottle of it. Excited to see what else the house offers. And also people who kept comparing this to Safari Extreme are way off. 2 completely different scents and I know because I’m smelling both samples side by side as I type this. I think this would be great as a statement maker in the fall, dressed up with a leather jacket, on a cool night out. It might grow on me but time will tell

Très décu... Je n'ai eu qu'un simple parfum bon marché avec une odeur d'alcool omniprésente et dérangeante. Le parfum à tres certainement été reformulé malheureusement...

Don’t buy the one that comes Ina brown box it’s weak and has been watered down, buy the one in the white box.

No wonder Al Qurashi Blend has the subtitle of 'CHARME D'ORIENT' couldn't be more appropriate. This bottle of mine is pre-reformulation, it is denser resinous because it is more loaded with 'oud than the current batches. It also has excellent performance! Delicious stunning complex perfume! Batch: 01/2023 Pre-Reformulation Top Notes: Indian Lemon, Bergamot, Star Anise, White Lily, French Orange Blossom, Ylang-Ylang. So happy I found this gem. I was curious on Blue Sapphire from Boadicea the Victories and bought a sample of it. Really loved it but thought it was ridiculously expensive. I did some research and found out that Qureshi Blend was the original scent profile and managed to hunt down a sample of that one as well. I’ll tell you what, the quality and smell between the two are night and day. Shame on BTV for cloning a fragrance and selling it at that amount of money. They didn’t even make it better to be charging that much money. Qureshi Blend is far superior in both smell and quality of the ingredients used. Qureshi Blend is reasonably priced when you consider you are wearing an olfactory dream coming straight from Heaven’s gates. Wauw! Just wauw. It’s fresh and deep with so much soul and instantly likeable, yet incredibly mysterious and sophisticated. It’s so complex and has multiple layers that twists and turns throughout the entire journey of this jewel of a fragrance. The type of scent that leaves an everlasting memory on people that are lucky enough to cross your path. Smells so refined and luxurious. Be prepared for attention and compliments. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. It has everything you would want from a high quality niche fragrance. Will forever be in my collection. Masterpiece

If you don’t read anything else I write, read the next sentence. WAIT FOR THE DRY DOWN!! This is currently my 2nd favorite fragrance (behind Bvlgari Kobraa) but it has one of the worst initial sprays I’ve ever seen. When you first spray it on yourself you’ll think you’ve made a mistake. Give it 15-20 minutes, and you’ll be bowled over. The oud the amber and sandalwood blend together beautifully but the real star of the show is the lemon that cuts right through the luxury blanket of the woods to stop it from becoming overbearing. Incredibly mellow but long lasting longevity, sillage that’ll turn heads, if Kobraa wasn’t a generational all star, this would be #1. With so many different “oud” fragrances on the market, this one stands above the rest. The only downside to this is it is extremely hard to find.

I've been waiting to get my nose on this for a minute and it didn't disappoint! Fresh, floral and fruity undertones with a smooth wood base, blended to perfection. There's top quality perfumery going on here. The opening is heavenly. I'm getting photorealistic florals (what I believe to be taif rose and jasmine sambac) and very naturalistic smooth oud with nothing remotely skanky or animalic about it - supported by mango. Yes, mango. You can't unsmell it. I don't know how they managed to make a fruity floral oud concoction smell masculine but well done. A holy scent full of contradictions; it's extroverted and introverted. It's fresh and it's dense. It's versatile and hard to time. I'm a huge fan.
