Sasora Oud

I’m grateful and honestly a little astonished to own all eight Abdul Samad Al-Qurashi's (ASQ) releases: Kalakasi, Sasora, Crassna, Filaria, Manaban, Myan, Mobakhar and Sapheda White. Each one reveals a different facet of ASQ’s oud mastery but Sasora Oud holds a particularly tender place in my heart. It sits proudly as my second favourite, just behind Kalakasi Oud with its extraordinary 80‐year aged distillation Sasora Oud is an opulent journey in its own right. Crafted from Sakura‐derived oud aged for over three decades, it carries a noble, almost aristocratic refinement. The scent profile balances a tender softness with a subtle, intriguing bitterness; an interplay that feels both elegant and quietly magnetic. On my skin, Sasora radiates a poised, genderless sophistication. Its projection is modest yet confident and its longevity is beautifully persistent. The purity of the oud and its natural nuances weave together into a silky, seamless aroma, supported by beautiful rose, silky vanilla, fruit and spices, so smooth it makes even celebrated rose‐oud titans like Ombre Nomade, Octavian or The Night feel almost ornamental by comparison, despite sharing the same luxury price bracket. I’ve tried countless times to get Fragrantica to add the remaining six siblings but no luck so far. I suspect ASQ just isn’t on the radar for most users here, which is a shame for such an exceptional line.

Pulled out from my Arsenal this one; has macerated nicely after 1+ year. I can safely say that this is the most authentic rose oud in market. For me I liked it better than Night, Nebulous and Octavian. The sweet touches make it more wearable and long lasting. Sometimes we are running for every new bottle in the market and miss the fun of enjoying the ones we already have. This is definitely a keeper but to be worn on special occasions only. Too opulent to be worn casually. an ASQ Masterpiece for those who can afford it.

Majestic oud forward scent from the Arabian house showcasing a very lovely Kalakassi Oud. The scent opens with notes of Taif rose, star anise and a fruity blend moving on to a heart of vanilla and light spices before it settles on a deep sensual base of aged Kalakassi Oud and synthetic musk. The slightly masculine leaning scent has moderate to strong projection and very good longevity. Opulent, regal and traditional.

After overcoming the strong oud scent in the first hour, it settles down and the scent becomes the same as the Louis Vuitton Myriad, or rather myriad is inspired by this masterpiece.

Abdul Samad al Qurashi Sasora Oud. First impressions Talk about a special Oud fragrance. Top tier.. wearable Aged Oud with Taif Rose, fruity Nuances, extremely smooth. This bottle went hand by hand, until finally dropping into my hands. Much prefer this To ASQ Crassna Oud, since is less raw and more wearable. Crassna was a good example of how Raw Oud can smell. Super complex. Now, Sasora Oud reminds me of AO Royal Oud with a better and more prominent agarwood, way less musky and more fruity/Sweeter, more Refined. A step up in my mind. Great stuff for lovers of middle eastern Oud perfumery. Happy to have something of this Caliber added to the collection.
