Tawasul

This is one of my favorite fragrances and a true comfort scent. According to the fragrantica notes, there is oud in this, but if you're averse to the note, don't be put off. To my nose the oud is so subtle as to be hardly there at all. Tawasul is only medium-sweet, not like a candy or gourmand fragrance. It's very "round"-smelling, velvety soft, warm and musky. The musk and amber seem most prominent to me, creating a cloud-like effect, uplifting and soothing at once. If I had to liken it to a Western fragrance, I'd say its soft, enveloping quality is a little like Prada L'Eau Ambree, only not as smothering feeling. (I'm not very fond of L'Eau Ambree, though I love Tawasul.) @colettemichelle, I believe Tawasul in Arabic means "communication", whether with oneself, another person or God. The bottle represents the concept with the shape of an old-fashioned telephone.

Bottle is amazing. Perfume is very arabic for me (which means heavy and spicy). However it would be great for layering, as oil will stay on the skin with all base not, and amber will help to keep notes of the top layer perfume.

Beautiful! I want only to add a note to Drouhin's already perfect review: Well blended and warm, this unisex delight is redolent of musk, amber, and myrrh - the latter giving it a hint of 'rootbeer', a component noticable in fragrances such as Tabu. There the similarity ends, however, as a touch of oud lends Tawasul a true middle eastern flair. When have I smelled an Arabian oil with this much character, which is at once unassumingly refined and simultaneously cozy?! Five Stars
