Nurture

BEAUTIFUL! This fragrance came as a sample in an order recently and from first sniff I loved it. I will say it's not that (babydoll skin) nuture type of scent, no this one is unique and is a total different approach at what Nuturing could smell like. This to me was a beautiful fresh and light airy "Cedar" like scent with light florals. It is simple yet uplifting fresh and woody. Think of it as a "nuturing" scent that would resemble mothers in ancient times in forest and living only in huts. It's a natural outdoors nuturing type scent and I love it.

This is a subtle, gorgeous spicy and woody scent on me. My first impression was mainly of cedar, but I get a dry down of prominent ginger with rose, sandalwood and the original cedar hovering underneath. Personally it comes across almost gourmand, like warm ginger cookies being baked in a witch's hut in the woods, in early autumn with the roses still in bloom in the garden.

I am really loving this scent. After giving up on perfume for a while because I hate the synthetic ones so much, I decided to give some natural brands a try. This is a really beautiful scent, a lot of cedar as others have mentioned but I love that. It is very intimate but I think that perfectly fits the motherly inspiration of this perfume.

Such a soothing scent. For me it provokes a feeling of being cared for, feeling safe and grounded. The ultimate comforting scent. Perfect for high-stress situations or in moments of calm and when there is a need for reassurance. Longevity and projection is weak but I don't mind.

It is a very soft scent, but really beautiful. A bit sweet, floral and a bit spicy. And to my nose the cedar smells like sawdust and I love it. Other people don't smell the sawdust on me, but I am happy with it.

Unlike others here,.the prominent note I smell on my skin is not orange blossom or ginger, but rose. I get a lot of rose on the base of cedar and sandalwood. No spicy notes whatsoever: my postpartum months were full of ginger, anise, and other spicy teas and foods. This perfume has none of it. But yes, it is very comforting (a woody rose will do it for you!). I found this scent unremarkable in the shop,.certainly not as striking as some of the other Abel perfumes (like Cobalt Amber or Pink Iris), but I'm glad I bought it because it quietly shines. I am particularly happy because babies are disturbed by perfume, and mine doesn't mind this one, it is soft and gentle. I'm not sure why it's called a "floral musk" when the base is woody. I normally try to avoid musks because the synthetic white musk gives me a headache. This all-natural perfume is totally different, though.

Nurture has an intimacy to it, sheer and cloud-like, with silhouettes of orange blossom and rose. Expect no fleshy petals here, the flowers are more like olfactory apparitions that haunt amongst legible fresh-cut ginger and mastic resin. It seems to soothe rather than make a statement. Even its woody facets have a certain translucency, and Nurture overall quietly hovers just over the skin, not hugging, but caressing. While I am not overly impressed with it, there is a certain charm to Nurture that would certainly appeal to the right audience that gravitates to both quiet luxury and naturalism in perfume. It's nice stuff. ADDENDUM: Abel promotes this as a maternity-safe floral. That tracks.

For me this is primarily an orange blossom fragrance. The opening is mostly citrus-y ginger & floral, with sandalwood. It turns into a subtle gorgeous woody floral. It's not listed here but there's also musk and orris in it, and I detect them both. The mastic/sandalwood in this is very prominent in the dry down, and it reads like pine but it completely lacks that wood chip harshness and has more of a light, honeyed tea tree vibe. Also still smelling the orange blossom, and a whisper of ginger. For me, the rose is not detectable in the dry down, and the jasmine even less so, which is fine by me as I tend to dislike jasmine (a lot).

The sentiment behind this fragrance is sweet, but you don't have to be a mother, or even maternal, to like this. It's gentle, the woods and soft florals given a nudge into wakefulness with some bracing ginger. It's a fragrance that's quiet but not generic. Unlike other reviewers, I don't find it to be either gourmand-leaning or particularly primal smelling. To me, this is the Restoration Hardware of maternal fragrances. It's white linens that have been stone-washed to resemble vintage ones, both edited and a bit tattered in a chic, mainstream way. It fits its modest brief beautifully.

A pretty soft and fresh opening: orange blossom and ginger, plus a milky soft woody feel. I'm also picking up a terpenic note (probably mastic) but to me the scent is built around OB and ginger. I couldn't catch the rose that other people mentioned. There's nothing irritating about it at all, zero proximity to skin. It's the kind of soft and lovable scent that could make even people who don't use perfume fall in love with fragrance. Tag(s): natural, light, soft, inoffensive, fresh

Nurturing would not be how I would describe this fragrance. When I first put it on, I was expecting a rose fragrance having seen only the marketing materials and not the notes. Instead what I got was unpleasant, thin, greenish and unusual. Looking at the notes it makes sense - mastic and ginger. Not a fan.

Essentially it’s a mastic and santal fragrance. I don’t smell anything else
