Ellwood White Bergamot

While grieving the loss of Estee Lauder Knowing (which now smells like blackbean sauce, instead of floral-patchouli-oakmoss soap) and Jean Paul Gaultier Classique edt (which now smells like metallic wet-chalk jasmine, instead of orange blossom pizzelles), I bought an Abercrombie perfume sampler. Perfume No. 1 and Ellwood are worthwhile and both unisex. Ellwood is bergamot and sandalwood perfection. Everyone needs this scent. It is classy, good for all occasions, and most importantly Ellwood will treat you well. Did you spray on the wrong perfume? Ellwood will smooth it out. Too tired to shower before bed and no time in the morning? Ellwood will refresh you. Did you have a bad day? Ellwood says shhh you're beautiful, baby, and rubs your feet. Get yourself a better boyfriend named Ellwood.

I miss this so much! I can't wait for my friend to return from the US as I've begged him to help get me a bottle of this. Regretted not getting myself a bottle when A&F was still here in my country. Now, I am not so sure, cos the fragrance note says its white bergamot and attached a pic of bergamot fruit. Then I just happen to look up on the internet 'white bergamot' and got this: Monarda clinopodia, commonly known as white bergamot, basil bee balm or white bee balm, is a perennial wildflower in the mint family, Lamiaceae. This species is native to North America, ranging north from New York, west to Missouri, and south to Georgia and Alabama. Friend just got back from the US and got me a bottle of this. Really the same old scent. I used to kept popping by A&F just to spray this.

this is one of my all time favorite fragrances. it is SO fresh and clean. it reminds me a little of jhag not a perfume, but more fresh, more unisex, & tons of bergamot. abercrombie did this absolutely correct, i’ve worn this for two years, i will continue to repurchase until they inevitably discontinue it as they do everytime i find a favorite... i’m looking at you hollister august

This is a great unsiex perfume. It smells similar to JHAG Not A Perfume or Amber Musk but with some added citrus notes. It’s a clean musk and very versatile. My only complaint is there seems to be a quality control issue. I’ve gone through probably 4 or 5 bottles of this since it’s release and some preform wonderfully while others smell watered down.

Ellwood is very clean & unique i'm a woman and I love it! This is most certainly unisex. The fragrance is a composition of bergamot and laundry musks. It is amazing and relaxing but very faint. I wish it was stronger and would also last longer. :/ The bottle is a good size 2.5oz but I wish it came in 3.4oz-6.7oz sizes as well! That would be a dream!

I adore this. The down side is that the longevity is not great; however, it is one that you can freshen with throughout the day and not over-spray. My partner doesn’t know anything about perfume but somehow he always picks stuff for himself from my arsenal that is really exceptional, and I constantly smell this on him. I bought a backup bottle.

It’s subtle. It’s a linen type of clean. It’s something you wear around the house because you want a nice subtle calming scent that you occasionally get a whiff of. It’s perfect in its own way.

I love this fragrance. My best frangrance ever. It’s unique and subtle. I just want ANF make its scent more stronger. It’s tooooo weak.

One of my favorite fragrances. Not overly sweet and cozy scent

I think the most glaring issue is it's the weakest fragrance I've ever tried from thousands and thousands scents, over the last 40 years. It's 99% perfumers alcohol and 1% fragrance. That 1% smells good though, when you can smell it. It's like a molecule fragrance and smells a bit like a musky amber. The second glaring thing to me is that my factory bottle has ZERO bergamot despite bergamot in the name. Zero, ziltch, nada.If you go to Abercrombie website and read reviews, people blast this fragrance for having the strength of water. Normally performance is not something I value as I'm willing to carry decants. But in this instance, what is the point of wearing a fragrance if NOBODY including your self can smell it? Atrocious quality control and obviously ambercrombie and Fitch do not listen to their customers screaming on their website that something is wrong. ----------------------------------------------- Conclusion: I've never said this before, but this formula is so weak, I actually consider it DEFECTIVE. Scent: 70/100 (smells good for flash) Perfomance: 1/100 ( weakest perfume I've ever encountered) P.S. before you say I'm nose blind, I tested over the course of a week on fabric, paper, skin, hair, and let multiple people smell (try to smell) and everyone was shocked at how weak this is. This stuff is truly defective and totally broken.

Really liked the sent of this, just finished it. Beautiful fresh and calming, perfect for bed. Doesn’t last tho

This fragrance has a lot of potential considering it’s an A&F scent. It’s my fave one that they sell and it’s the same scent that they pump into my local store. IF ONLY it lasted longer on me. It literally disappears after an hour or so. Great smell, awful longevity.

I so wish I could smell this! I'm in my fresh era right now and from what I can tell I would probably like this if I could smell if. I have to stick my nose right up on my arm to get a hint of what it might smell like.

Im very dissapointed with this fragrance. I walked into the Abercrombie store and right as i walked in it smelled so clean and musky with an aquatic smell. I asked the employee what it was and she told me they had Ellwood diffusing in the machines and replaced fierce (there was also signs). I bought the fragrance, and it did not smell like the store at all! It smelled very watered down and had a nasty green alcohol smell. I did research and a company called “Prolitec” Partnered with them to create the store diffusers adaptation which is BS because its not the same. Prolitec confirmed that the store smell is different and is lighter and has more musk. I really wanna know the name of the perfumer that created this because this fragrance could have been amazing if it smelled just like the store did. I have also bought many bottles and none smell like the store. Im really going to miss going to Abercrombie to get a whiff of Ellwood inside and seeing the Mist slowly flow down the machines in the dim lighting since they no longer have it pumping inside .Smelling this scent in the store gave me intense emotion. I never would have thought that a $68 fragrance would end up being my new signature. I own dozens of fragrances ranging from $10 all the way to $500. cost ≠ quality but let me tell you, this is my new fave. I’ve been wearing “skin scents” since 2018. My taste has grown since then, but generally I prefer light, powdery, slightly sweet scents. This is EXACTLY that. Think Nemat “Amber” but sweeter. Not sickeningly sweet like candy or ice cream though, make no mistake. This is a fragrance you wear when you don’t want to seem like you’re wearing a fragrance. Like a hug in freshly laundered linens or a glass of lemonade on a hot day. It brings me back to my roots. I rarely get excited about fragrances these days, but wow. A $68 A&F fragrance just about blew me away on a random Saturday as I was swimsuit shopping, lol.

Surprised I bought a scent from A&F. It made me realize I really love bergamot. It’s definitely so unique and totally unisex. I actually didn’t realize it was unisex at first. I would loveee to find something super similar with a more feminine twist. Unfortunately the bottle I had began to have an alcohol scent. They sent me a new one to replace it which was nice, but I may sell the new one.

This smells amazing. Like others have mentioned, it has the same white Amber/musk feel of perfumes like jhag, Pillowtalk poet, etc, but this one might just be my favorite. I love the hints of bergamot. I layered it with Abercrombies ‘8’ and I keep getting wafts of this gorgeous smell. Love this.

Is this named for the character that Reese Witherspoon played in "Legally Blonde"? That was her name in the show - Elle Woods.

4.7 stars? Sheesh, that’s a high score. I’m about to blind buy this because of the reviews. Y’all better not let me down.

This Is great. I believe it’s second bottle worthy. To me it’s a fresh white amber. Very captivating
