An elegant, gentlemanly fragrance with one of the better leather accords out there. 1869 has a green violet leaf accompanying some spicy geranium in the opening. As the scent develops, the violet gets stronger and the leather begins to make itself known. The violet leaf note here does not remind me of original Fahrenheit, but rather the more tame Fahrenheit Aqua flanker or, even better, Fahrenheit Le Parfum with its smooth, mellowed violet note. The leather here is natural smelling and accented by some buttery iris. As has been mentioned in other reviews, as the scent progresses, the salty ambergris intermixes with the leather adding a warm richness to the dry down. Any animalic notes are banished from the composition by a rich vanilla that asserts itself later in the dry down. The projection and longevity here are both moderate. The bottle and atomizer are nice, if nothing particularly special. 1869 is probably best suited for the shoulder seasons, but there is nothing about this scent that would preclude summer or winter use. Bottom line: barbershop in the best way; 1869 is a dignified masculine leaning scent that is very pleasant to wear and a nice alternative to the rather harsher original Fahrenheit or its (often) pricy to acquire flankers. Highly recommended for mature folks who like traditional fragrances and appreciate natural, quality ingredients.

Acca Kappa 1869 The Quality Of Tradition - and it's that classical quality you can smell here. This doesn't smell synthetic or mass produced, it smells of quiet confidence. The initial opening is nothing to write home about, slightly spicy geranium, very old school barbershop. As this comes down and starts to warm the leather comes through. The leather in my opinion is the main accord, it's what sets this apart from so many other traditional colognes. It's softened by the violet and iris but it's very distinctive. Over time this leather becomes softer, saltier even, and it settles down into this wonderful classy, not flashy, gentleman's scent. A very high like for me. Longevity and sillage are both moderate.

I tend to agree with all the comparisons to Fahrenheit. It manages to be a bit lighter and fresher and maybe a bit spicier, "greener" than Fahrenheit. The tradeoff is that it's not very long lasting. I already have Fahrenheit but don't tend to wear it, so I would have no particular reason to own this, but in a choice between the two I think I prefer the Acca Kappa.

Yes it is a different version of the original Fahrenheit , lighter , less longevity and less projection , i certainly enjoy it but as a deja-vu perfume .

Leans more masculine, my husband was Fahrenheit's super fan and he found this is subtle version of it. It's spicy and dandy.

Warm leather open turns into very cool metalic violet leaf quickly. Spicy sweet background on a green leather base. Its like sitting on a new leather sofa thats outside in a damp green glade after the rain. Women or men can wear this. ⛤⛤⛤

Landed this discovery by chance at a small boutique in Phoenix. I had initially smelled this years ago, and immediately there after purchased a full bottle. The top is an incredibly fresh, ever-so-slightly metallic take on leather (mostly due to the florals I believe). It dries down into a more vanilla heavy base with the slight ambergris accord shining more & more while still retaining the leather quality. Not just any leather, but more on the lines of an Italian Suede feel somewhat reminiscent of an Acqua di Parma fragrance. Linear though out it's stages all the while remaining interesting & addictive. Performance is average really with a silage the first couple hours, and after the initial there isn't much to write home about. Overall, it plays into the role of a "Traditional Masculine" Barber shop fragrance, and shines through it's subtle yet refined nature. This was my signature scent, and a few years with my original bottle it soured in the heat from traveling unfortunately.. The good news is while I paid the full retail ($90USD) I recently found it gray market for less than half! It's a steal if you ask me, considering the quality of the blend in this juice is nothing shy of most high-end niche offerings. Don't take my word on it, but give it a try!

For some reason, I had imagined 1869 to smell rather citrusy, fresh and clean. The real fragrance is nothing like I thought it would be. In fact, it's a whole lot better. I'll start by saying that 1869 is quite herbaceous and peppery. I agree with Guusje, it is quite sophisticated, but yet it also seems like it could suit a casual and somewhat rough manly man. It packs a punch, but not in an overwhelming sense. I find it quite unusual and deliciously spicy. After testing 1869, I can certainly see why some women on this forum adore this fragrance on their men. That sharp, earthy geranium note is undeniably sexy and rich. Acca Kappa makes some really enjoyable fragrances. I love how a majority of them have a really natural, organic feel to them. They all tend to have a delicate and very appealing greeness which never appears to be synthetic. Although masculine, I do believe some women could get away with wearing this. I am rather impressed by the moderately strong sillage and wonderful longevity. Chypre is a word that doesn't mean much to me, seeing that I still haven't delved much into that particular fragrance genre, however in terms of a chypre working well on men, 1869 takes the cake.

This is unisex fragrance. After a while, on clothes it developed go to something more feminine/floral from initial blast, perhaps due to geranium. The leather is presence from initial to the end. Once i sprayed on my cardigan, and couple of days later i wondered what gorgeous leathery floral scent i have worn earlier, cant stop sniffing it. Accidently, i throw uncapped bottle in to my handbag, the smell sticked to everything including my glasses (not that i mind)..so in my opinion it quite lasting for cologne type perfume

A lovvely unisex summer scent. First on I get leather with citrus. Dry down brings spice, amber and green notes, very nice, and not too heavy. I'm okay with the usual summer aquatics, but this is nothing like that, coming out herbal and cool instead of synthetically "ocean." Very refreshing, very nice.

a nice very light fragrance ! its very clean and soft...the problem is the longevity !! its less than 2 hours !!! just recently I tried the EDP version, which is stunning adding the great longevity to the already comforting ,delicious (sensual) sent

un parfum frais et aromatique (le geranium), parfait pour un dimanche après un rasage frais, la violette et l'iris se dévoilent peu après, un air d'océan est également présent (un peu comme du tabac mouillé), trés classe, viril et léger à la fois.

Sorta a weak musty violet, geranium, musky scent with some spice and leather. Not particularly masculine but definitely not feminine. Weak performance at a slightly too high of price. Not impressed :(

A throwback to those lovely leather, green scents. For those wondering what Creed Green Valley was like, this scent has striking similarities, and yes it will also remind you of Fahrenheit.
