1869 Eau de Parfum

Okay maybe I'm biased given this was my first niche fragrance - but this has honestly become my signature scent through the cooler months (not that it doesn't work at almost any time of the year) here in Australia. I managed to get a full 100ml bottle for a little over $100 AUD so that really sweetened the deal for me too. First impression: Both the cardamom and geranium top notes add bright aromatics and punch to this fragrance from the get-go: taking a deep whiff my sinuses feel icy fresh. After 10 minutes: While the geranium and cardamom certainly stick throughout the first few hours (which I actually LOVE because it keeps everything feeling fresh in union with help from the bay leaf), the iris and violet now emerge to add subtle sweetness while the leather and amber create a woody, warmer depth to the fragrance. After 6 hours: The projection at this stage has depleted, yet the fragrance remains complex - it doesn't dry down to a specific note. It carries an aquatic character darkened by the woody base notes and still slightly sweetened by the violets. These qualities are tied together in a smoothness through the vanilla - but the vanilla scent itself is not obvious. Anyway all I can say is that if you want a versatile, fresh yet woody and smooth yet spicy, unisex fragrance... THIS IS FOR YOU!! It projects well, but I've never received complaints about it being too strong - instead I get compliments, observations that it smells nostalgic, and kind of random, but apparently it smells extra special when the smell of coffee is *also* in the air. I'll always want a bottle of this on hand.

Well blended scent with a dry down that is like a more refined and sophisticated version of Dior's Fahrenheit. Modern, yet elegant fragrance.

I have the EDC of this as well and I actually prefer that one. This is nice, don't get me wrong, but I think it's the geranium that spoils it. The iris, fine, the sweetness of the violet, fine,but that geranium is a little too harsh. It's one of those fragrances that you need to give 10 minutes, time to mellow out. The leather becomes quite noticeable but the warmth of the amber and the slight sweetness of the vanilla balances it out. Both longevity and sillage are moderate. 1869 EDP, likeable, but not as nice as 1869 EDC.

Really great fall fragrance that I imagine you would wear during the day or night with a leather jacket. Very nice blend of earthy tones, freshness and leather. One of the best leather type perfumes that I smelled on my skin once it dries down, it's subtle but definitely there. I think it is slightly overpriced for a 100ml bottle at 125 eur, but I managed to get a 20% discount on a 15ml bottle so I'm very happy with my purchase.

An interesting collection of notes...Let's see, if the original Fahrenheit had a baby with Halston Z14, 1869 edp would be their lovechild. That's it in a nutshell. If you like unique, then this is for you.

Clean and soapy, without being too overpowering. Smells just like Cussons imperial leather. A good fit for anyone chasing an affordable, every day office fragrance.

An over-familiar mix of geranium, leather and vetiver, summoning up the memory of a hundred airport duty free fragrance samples. Bland,bland,bland.

Cardamon eden! My first impression of this perfume is like drinking a warm cup of cardamon tea , now add a slice of lime, other herbal leafs and a teaspoon of honey and don't forget something earthy to make it intenser! I know this fume is neither meant to be gourmand, nor to be addressed to female audience, yet I can easily imagine both! I can't precisely call it sexy, fatal or provocative, but I like the tranquility it brings to me. For some reason it reminded me of omnia BLVGARI(first flanker), of course high-graded version of omnia, but the impression id the same. However, I seem to be to some degree anosmatic to this treasure. I can't get enough from it and strangely smelling it makes me hungry! Now, where my cup of cardamon tea?

Perhaps I'm too sensitive to geraniums... they seem to ruin many a fine fragrance for me. On the one hand I feel this is well blended as, save for the geraniums, I can't seem to pick up any of the lovely notes per se. On the the other hand I can't seem to ignore the bloody planter full of geraniums for the first 3 hours before finally being able to pick up any of the other lovely notes... all of which I generally enjoy. That's all to say this does have a decent dry down. I so wanted to like this too, as it was a gift. I recognise its quality but, for now, I'm going to put this away and pray it blooms on me better in a different season. Challenging. ★★☆☆☆

Much better then the eau de cologne 1869. This is a stronger earthier version of it's little cousin. I get a hit of citrus spice up top. Then a nice green violet and bay in the mid. The base is definitely a woody vetiver and orris scent. I don't get vanilla or much leather. The final result is a muddled men's typical musky scent. Not worth the asking price! Weak performance for an edp!

Familiar - fahrenheit, paul smith (og), creed green valley...overall well executed and a pleasant go to.
