Giallo Elicriso

Beautiful crisp watery citrus!! I get the strong citron like in Dior Homme sport (Old version) with a watery tone. Then it gets a bit of spice from the nutmeg. The base is bright clean citrus and vetiver. Overall a bit generic but very clean, masculine, and refreshing. The performance was very good! Survived three hand washings!! However the asking msrp is a bit high at 220sgd!!! If it was less $$ i would purchase

I suddenly found this perfume in the market where i live , i found it refreshing with the lemon notes , alive with the vetiver notes , classic with the cedar notes , then the nutmeg with the benzoin comes to soften the overall to end up with a masterpiece , why masterpiece because it is an old creation but creative and charismatic similar to when we can see nowadays .

How does Giallo Elicriso come across to me? Imagine you had a bottle of the original Acqua Di Gio and extracted most of the 'salt accord', and replaced it with something sweet, like a hint of honey. I've got one of each of these two fragrances on both my hands right now, and that is exactly what I am experiencing. I just wish the Acca Kappa projected more.

I don't know, you turn your back for a few minutes and it's all change at Fragrantica. Newness confuses me usually but this looks pretty straightforward; nice big buttons and we now have a neutral icon! Anyway, on to the sniff, Giallo Elicriso by Acca Kappa. There's a side to fragrances we often take for granted and overlook, that is as mood lifters. I've been pretty down over the last few days and I was meant to be on here yesterday posting this review, but life and nonsense got in the way. This morning I got up, got dressed, and splashed on a little of this Giallo Elicriso. My word, there was the smile I was looking for. It opens with a gorgeous lemon; fresh, but not harsh. And what a watery fresh blast as well! It's always difficult to describe a watery smell to someone, but you know it when you smell it, fresh and clean. Like the perfectly rehearsed fragrance it is it then moves on to the heart notes after about 5 minutes or so. What I get here is the unmistakable nutmeg, dry spicy and woody. There's also a touch of white peppercorn, an ever so slight lift. On the card that comes with this it mentions Helichrysum as a heart note; I had no idea this was another name for immortelle - Helichrysum Italicum. Also known as Italian Strawflower and Italian Everlastings. I'm not sure if I'm getting the immortelle note, earthy fruity floral honeyish? No, don't think so. Over the course of the next hour or so the dry down begins and we start to smell the vetiver. Dry and earthy, but not heavy. The benzoin also comes through and lifts the smell, smoothing it, preventing harshness. Then to close we have the cedar. Nothing exciting, very expected, but it works here beautifully. It's lovely having a fragrance in which you can actually smell all the stages. Longevity I would put at about 7 hours. Sillage is moderate; I don't think wearing extra would make much difference, this is not a scent bomb. A definite like for me. Not quite a love, but certainly a great little pick me up. Thank you Acca Kappa, you've put a smile back on my face.

An over-the-top version of an Italian summer's day : the lemons are tumbling off the trees, the helichrysum is swaying seductively in the sun and a hundred ice-cream sellers are singing Verdi as they float on gondolas along the Grand Canal (err ... sorry, I made that bit up!) Just a completely unsubtle (and artificial) attempt at what a house like Maria Candida Gentile does so artlessly: bottling floral sunshine and managing to capture its subtlety and beauty in a way that is genuinely uplifting. For me, Giallo Elicriso has me reaching for the scrubbing brush within a short while: was helichrysum ever meant to be so stiflingly sweet? If you want a far more authentic agrestic fragrance, head for Marc-Antoine Corticchiato's immortal Immortelle Corse.

Have had this fragrance for a long time now, and have to say it smells better (less synthetic) now after a year of maturity. It still has an explosively alcoholic opening but mellows off into a more gentle and enjoyable scent. I personally use this after getting out of the shower or after the gym in summer, but it would be a good choice for a day to day scent as well. 7.5/10

This is an amazing cologne for me! The woodiness and the opening spiciness is very manly. There's a slight peppery note in the dry down. Such a beautiful fragrance. The cedar comes on later and rounds out a mild vetiver enhancement for this green spicy.
