Myscent

I have briefly tried several ACCA KAPPA perfumes, and the initial impression is that most of them are roughly composed and the scent slightly pungent. Most of them remind me of middle price range toiletories product. Except MyScent 150 which left a good impression on me. Thanks for Acca Kappa SA at Hong Kong IFC for the sample, so I can try it with depth. The top notes of the fragrance have the familiarity of 80's amber fragrances. which immediately take me on a journey of memories. Amber runs through the top, middle and base notes. and during base notes of patchouli and vetiver gradually become apparent to me. Relatively heady scent (with remind me the fragrance of 80s again), the longevity of the perfume is unexpectedly lacking. It might due to the dapper design, it will try it at the store again. What surprised me most about Myscent 150 is that, every time I wear it , I noticed difference nuances. The scent is quite unique that I cant find similar fragrance I tried or own. Some said it reminds them of Grand Soir, I get what they means, though they are amber-incense fragrance but overall they are not similar. Grand Soir has a comparative grander and more masuline leaning opening. Prominent lavander notes, sweeter, more opulent and with great projection. Myscent 150 is more subtle, low profile and more easy wearing perfume. It has pine and patruolli. Both have their merits. I love Grand Soir more though I am a fan of Francis Kurkdjian but it doesnt mean Myscent 150 lose luster in comparison by any means. I recommend to wear it at night in autumn and winter. Although I own a lot of fragrances, I would seriously consider buying Myscent 150. The price is not expensive, and not get attention it deserves, so I recommend it here. PS. It pass my 13 year old son’s nose, he likes it and smelled the perfume blotter non stop. I am surprised young nose also likes it.

I wasn't familiar with this brand at all, but I received a complimentary sample of this perfume when I purchased some other products. MyScent 150 is a very nice fragrance for autumn and winter, in the vein of MFK Grand Soir and the likes. The main components are amber, vanilla, incense, benzoin and something bitter - probably orris root. The notes of bergamot and vetiver are hardly detectable, so they're probably there just to lift this sweet combo up a bit. Mind you, it is generally less sweet than Grand Soir and not so strong. In contrast to the first reviewer on this page, I don't think that vanilla is so overpowering; my trusty old sniffer detects amber as the main accord, while benzoin and incense provide a subtle smoky effect, offset by an almost honey-like overlay. If you are familiar with the MFK catalogue, imagine MyScent 150 as a mixture of 70% Grand Soir, 30% Absolue Pour Le Soir, and then diluted to about 50% of the initial concentration. Great longevity, not so great silage.

I completely resonate with Joyceyanchan’s take on Myscent 150. It’s an incredibly nuanced fragrance, unfolding and evolving with every moment and setting. It opens with a fresh, sharp burst of bergamot, layered over deep, old-fashioned amber with a bit of a boozy undertone. This stage, though striking, is fleeting and gives way to a soft, powdery, sweet vanilla—close to the skin, intimate, with a gentle projection. It lingers, but only for you to sense. At first, I thought, “Is this all?” But then, in the presence of humid warmth or water, it transforms into something entirely new—a sharp yet clean and powerful scent. Think of Zen or Coco Mademoiselle, with orris and vetiver taking center stage. Myscent 150 is shape-shifter, don't know anything that comes close!

Vanilla. Vanilla with a strange earthy undertone. And that's it really. I'm a fan of vanilla, which is why I've given this a like, but that earthy undertone is not pleasant. Fortunately that only lasts for about an hour and then you just have the vanilla. Benzoin? Yep, I'd say so, because it's very vanilla like. So Benzoin and vanilla. Hmmm, not a very good review, sorry. Longevity is very good, at about 12 hours. Sillage is moderate.
