Lucepura

The perfume Lucepura was launched in 2017 and tells the story of a fairy called Lavandula, with beautiful blue eyes and blonde hair. From her tears, lavender flowers were born, a symbol of purity, prosperity, and happiness. Lucepura means, in English, pure light. Lucepura's fragrance is woody-aromatic, and like Lucevera, it was also created by Italian perfumer Maurizio Cerizza, creator of more than 150 fragrances for brands such as Zippo, The House of Oud, Roccobarocco, Pino Silvestre, etc. It has top notes of French lavender, Sicilian lemon, and watermelon. In the body, notes of French pine, tobacco, and sandalwood were combined, while the base carries musk and borage (also known as starflower and borracha-chimarrona, in Brazil). Lucepura touches the skin and immediately shows that lavender is really the key ingredient and, above all, the one that tells the tale, here interpreted by the perfumer. It is, practically, a fougère fragrance, however, thought of by a fairy. Instead of the heaviness of moss, we have the herbal lightness of borage; in place of tonka beans – full of almondy content – we have sandalwood, even softer. Lucepura has an unusual opening, in which the watermelon note ends up bringing a watery aspect, with a tea effect. It's like pouring hot lavender tea into a cup and then adding several drops of lemon, not sparingly. The body of the fragrance is a little more masculine and the tobacco brings barbershop facets that complement the fougère style. The most resinous note comes from the pine tree, which tries to act as a substitute for the tonka bean. But I still find the latter sweeter and more balsamic. Lucepura is more aromatic! The drying reveals few surprises, the evolution is linear and, once again, the projection is low. I'm beginning to understand that there is a standard regarding the fragrances approved by the brand and that, within that standard, fragrances cannot exude much, but they must last for a long time. I liked Lucepura a lot because it has a classic root, but a completely current look. It is for lovers of fragrances with a lot of lavender, but who expect a different approach, with less powdery content. As I said before, a lavender tea made by Italians, who appreciate the savoir-faire of the French.

It's nice and fruity, but I used to have 2 dollars shower gels that smelled identical. That citrus-sweet synthetic smell that you feel in the shower at the swimming pool. As a gentleman you'd only want to smell like this if circumstances forced you to use your girlfriend's shower gel.
