Lucevera

A refined, greener version of Aventus, with loads of sparkling ambergris. I like it a lot, it’s a wonderful blend of bergamot, pineapple, ambergris with just the right amount of vanilla on a polished soft woodsy base.

The Lucevera perfume was launched in 2017 and tells the story of the chief of an island, who was seduced by an old witch when turning into a young and beautiful woman. But he already had a lover: the beautiful Lani, who danced the “Hula of the Flower” like no other. Lucevera means, in English, true light. Lucevera's fragrance is woody-fruity, with a modern Chypre style, and was created by the Italian perfumer Maurizio Cerizza, creator of more than 150 fragrances for brands such as Zippo, The House of Oud, Roccobarocco, and Pino Silvestre, among many others. It has top notes of Calabrian bergamot and blackcurrant; heart notes of pineapple and patchouli, and base notes of ambergris, vanilla, and Virginia cedar. When sprayed, Lucevera's fragrance is luminous...vibrant, even though it's bottled in the brand's black bottle. The pleasantness is instantaneous, and the pineapple note is present right away. But the Italians know how to play with citrus fruits like few others and this fruity content receives an acidic and slightly sour bath, as if the bergamot peel were being pressed over a slice of pineapple. It looks like one of those unusual juices that we, Brazilians, love to invent with fruits. A dramatic pause: if it has pineapple and is sold as a Niche Perfume, then is it the same as Aventus? No, but it follows the same line of thought. While that one dries mossier and smokier, this one is greener and more ambery. On my skin, the blackcurrant is not blazing, but it gives a frizzy and long-lasting tone. The patchouli is not very noticeable, but the cedar is worthy of applause, as it exudes in abundance and does not seem to have been used as a supporting note, which is something I have felt in the fragrances launched in recent years. Regarding the vanilla, I noticed the following: on the skin, it takes a long time to emerge and does not overpower the woody and drier side of the cedar. But if any spray hits an area of the garment, like the collar of the shirt, then it will be there the next day. Lucevera requires a little more spraying to get it to work as expected. If the person tries to save it, he/she runs the risk of complaining later, claiming that the fragrance is weak. On my skin, it left me satisfied by the woody content but unsatisfied by the way the output dissipates in a few minutes, making me crave more of that acidic pineapple. And although it has a vibrant side, which refers to use on warmer days, it is a fragrance that I prefer to wear at night, because the performance is better. Oh! And it fits beautifully on women's skin, okay?

Very Aventus'y with more leaning towards fuits in the opening. Good longevity. For those seeking quality alternative to Aventus but for a more "fuity" batch, can be a good alternative.

Bought it because of the reviews. I own Aventus, 17 batch, and this smells nowhere near Aventus to me, same DNA yes. But very linear and synthetic. Ends with a nice vanilla base. I don't feel like it's worth nearly as much as places charge. Aventus has layers and evolves. Don't hate it, just not convinced. I'll give it more time...
