I received this pixie beauty about 2 years after it was launched. The interesting part about Acqua Alpes is that on their website they claim to use crystal-clear mountain water as the core element in their fragrances. I like this idea because I like it when brands strive to offer an original and authentic experience. The first impression is a mixture of fresh, bright, sparkling and musky sweet opening. I get citrus, bergamot (entrapped in an ice cube!), fresh green notes and sweet musk. I notice the lavender and vanilla right after. In the drydown it is still fresh but becomes warmer, perhaps it is the vanilla, musk and amber. The beautiful mixture of fresh and sweet is extremely likeable. Another notable quality is the icy-ness that this fragrance owes its freshness to. Like a beautiful sunny day filled with an ice cold air on a non crowded skiing slope (that you can have to yourself). It is not mentioned but I find the quality somewhat ozonic - partially like clean laundry on a frosty day :-) Projection is humble but when people get close enough they will wonder what smells so good. Beautiful, fresh, unobtrusive and happy. Such is this lovely scent.

The opening is like a bergamot kiss through a veil of amber. A sweet and powdery citrus. I can’t make out the vanilla, but it’s clear that something is included that is adding depth. The lavender is presenting itself during the drydown and I’m glad it’s not the “old auntie” kind but a natural and pure one. Plus it’s used in moderation, just enough to make this fragrance interesting. For me this one is slightly more feminine than unisex.
