Arcipelago Men

This is probably my favorite of the Acqua dell’ Elba scents I received as part of their boxed set (a great way to sample the line by the way). It’s definitely the most pronounced member of the line. The comments referring to it as a fresh-aromatic-slightly sweet are on point. Most interesting to me is that I usually gravitate toward citrus-forward scents to scratch my itch for that Mediterranean seaside vibe, but Archipelago has no citrus notes listed at all. Yet. It’s so masterfully blended with its herbs/flowers/woods that you are immediately enveloped with a classy coastline mood. Clean, crisp and masculine for sure!

Gentle, elegant greenery with a smooth, almost creamy finish. This is the kind of fragrance where it is difficult to distinguish any particular note. If you’re note sure what “well blended” means regarding fragrances, smell this and you’ll know! A gentlemanly cologne for the warmer days. eBay prices are all over the map with this fragrance. You can pick it up very inexpensively, do it!

Cool and refreshing Masculine clean fresh out of the shower type scent Herbal aromatic with some spicy pepper notes

Light, fresh, and clean. Great for daily wear and my signature scent although the longevity/silage aren't amazing

This is a pleasant and unique scent that reminds me of a river high in the mountains around springtime.

Love this. The adult version of the green woody Italian genre. Absolutely gorgeous.

Excellent value for money. Arcipelago Men is not the usual “holiday marine scent” that you buy on vacation and regret a few weeks later. It has much more character than that. To my nose, it sits somewhere between an aromatic fougère and a marine fragrance: fresh, herbal, slightly salty, but never too blue or synthetic. What I like most is the atmosphere it creates. It reminds me of a wild Mediterranean beach, with dry shrubs, aromatic herbs, sea breeze and warm air. The salty aspect is there, but it stays in the background, which makes the fragrance feel more refined and less obvious. Performance is surprisingly good for this kind of scent. On my skin it lasts well and evolves nicely, moving from the fresh aromatic opening into a smoother, woody/herbal drydown. I wore it on a very hot office day, above 30°C, and it worked perfectly: clean, masculine, present but not intrusive. The bottle and cap are quite anonymous, but acceptable considering the price. The atomizer is actually good. Overall, a very solid summer office scent and a much better fragrance than the “souvenir from the seaside” category it could easily be mistaken for.

This is a very nice scent, not unique but one I wear when going to the beach or forest walks in the spring and summer. I would describe it as fresh, aromatic, slightly sweet scent which reminds me of Nobile's Vespri aromatico and has the same herbal, artisan vibe. I am not very good at describing individual notes but my girlfriend likes this and she is very fussy about smells. The sillage is very good and lasts about 5-6 hours on me (I have the EdP version).

I really like this fragrance — it’s fresh, light, and perfect for everyday wear. It opens with an airy, aquatic vibe that’s easy to enjoy and hard to dislike. That said, it does lean a bit toward the “safe” side, falling into the generic daily-wear category. If you’re looking for something unique or bold, this might not stand out, but if you want a clean, versatile scent that works almost anywhere, it delivers.

Very nice. Classics with a twist. I really love all Elba perfumes. They are very well-made, long-lasting and rich. Arcipelago Man is very different from Arcipelago Woman, but it's a very sophisticated, yet masculine scent. It's a lot less plain than the same old Hugo Boss. Inobtrusive and smells unique.

It’s a creamy woody scent, with lots of aromatics, and a little flowery sweetness. Like an expensive green soap, notes and accords are all kinda blended together. It ain’t old school either, but don’t blind buy it. Nice projection and average longevity.

An elegant well blended whole, from which my amateur nose can not properly discern the ingrediënts. Invokes the Italian seascape without any 'blue' or 'aquatic' whatever that is. Invigorating.

Second in my journey through the 6 fragrance Acqua dell Elba sample set. Arcipelago opens with a very mild, herbal scent which quickly transitions to the middle notes. At this point it sweetens up significantly and the lily of the valley becomes prominent. It was too sweet and floral for me but luckily this phase didn't last very long. Soon after, the woody base notes appeared and remained for the rest of its life. The woody base notes are smooth and creamy not sharp or acrid. Very pleasant and quite masculine. Arcipelago stayed quite close to the skin. After about 4 hours it was gone. While it would be a nice summer scent, it's way too mild and weak for me. I'll pass.

Arcipelago smells way too similar to the paper bag full of different aromatic herbs that I usually get at the local market when I go shopping for vegetables and fruits. It is a lovely scent when I open the herbs at home, since it's so nice to have this strong aroma around, but I would not really enjoy this fragrance on my man, unless he's been gardening all day long. It's not bad at all, but the kitchen vibe is too strong to actually consider it full bottle worthy. Not a safe blind buy.

Elegant, fresh and classy. Arcipelago starts off with a nice blast of Cedar, Rosemary and Cypress. Slightly spicy but smooth. After about an hour or so it dries down to a nice Jasmine, Cypress and sage combo. Very happy to have found this beauty. Reminds me of cross between Reflection and Bottega Pour Homme minus the leather. It's like walking through a breezy forest trail in the spring. All notes are finely in tune with one another, really nice.

Sadly, this one smells too generic-fresh to my nose. It's herbal, aromatic, but I can imagine this being sold for next to nothing in a drug store. Yes the quality might be better than you would get in a drug store fragrance, but when the result is a bland smell, I can't get over it. It becomes nicer as it dries down though, the herbs and light woods shine more, but not enough to convince me.

Is it me or this smell like watermelon bubblegum? Very interesting, but this is sweet sparkling watermelon, i don't understand the note breakdown. Interesting smell

It is quite nice, but in the drydown I smell a lot of sweet almond/tonka. Like in Guerlain's L'homme ideal. I wish it would stay more herbal and not turn so sweet.
