Essenzamare

This is my favorite from this brand's new Mediterranea line and is definitely the most masculine-leaning of the three. The previous reviewer is right on in their description: marine, salty, citrusy with a woody drydown. Very similar to one of my favorite off-the-radar Italian fragrances — Sale, Limone, e Bergamotto by Alessandro Serpico, which has a similar note breakdown. The Elba offering has a bit more prominent salty aspect and more persistence on the skin while the Serpico has the citrus turned up higher. Both are winners for the summer, with the Elba a great reach for a day spent on the water and at the beach and the Serpico equally appropriate for both sea and landlubber pursuits.

I mostly smell marine, fresh and aromatic notes. I barely smell any bergamot actually! I agree it strongly leans masculine and gives me a vetiver-like vibe, not sure why. I liked it but personally it's not for me, and its too heavy and too fresh. I prefer softer sea salt scents, like the one by Jo Malone.

You've smelled this before, but maybe not as refined. Your deodorant is trying to be this. So many designer men's fragrances are trying to be this. This is what I thought D&G Light Blue would smell like. Nothing unique, maybe even a tired song depending on the listener, but executed in a way that leaves little to be desired. I'm pretty sensitive to salt accords in fragrances, but this seems to have just enough of that aroma chemical without triggering me into a headache. I'm still not sure if I would own this myself because it still bothers me here and there, but I can recognize how well this was put together.

Marine salty fragrance unisex or leaning masculine. Softer bergamot citrus and wood are there under a ton of marine salt oil from the ocean. Super good staying power as I showered 2 hours after testing and it's still potent. Summer heat at the beach or wood boat slip vibes. Gets a little more perfumey as it dries down.
