#1543 in my "Tour de Fragrance" Got this as a decant. My first experience with Acqua di Notto. I will say up front the performance is not bad (you'd respray at lunch) and I'm a fan of most of the notes. Whatever they're calling "lemon blossom" made my nose run for a few minutes just like happens with the cheap synthetic bergamot oil Lattafa uses. I haven't encountered "lemon blossom" before as it's almost exclusively a note in feminine scents. Of the more than 1500 scents I've tested, not one has had a "lemon blossom" note until now. But after just a few minutes my sinuses stopped reacting and dried out like I'd just used a decongestant, so this might be something to keep for cold season. After my initial reaction I decided I kinda liked the freshy-leaning quality that "lemon blossom" note confers in the dry down, and unlike citrus fruit notes, it's persistent. It comes off like a lemony cypress. The other notes are pretty standard here, and many scents have this note mix, but so many of the masculine scents toss in cinnamon. Every time I smell cinnamon, I think, "Paco Rabanne 1 Million." Who doesn't? They're closing in on 100MUSD in sales of "1Million. " It's the ninth most popular men's fragrance world-wide. Since "1 Million" was released in 2008 everyone has gotten on the cinnamon bandwagon, but I've gotten really tired of it. And I consider its absence in this sent a virtue. (Just like I got really tired of pine scents when they were the thing so many perfumers were doing and thereafter every household cleaning product had a pine scent. And now they've done the same to lavender. Lavender coffee creamer? Really? I kinda wish they'd skipped the lavender in making this fragrance, but it's not off-putting.) Overall, I want to like this scent, but I don't like it to the tune of the $240+ US vendors are asking. And I would suggest you first try out 4160 Tuesday's "Eau My Soul." It has all the notes of this scent and more, $105 a bottle. It's more gourmand, more interesting, nice iris note, and though the performance could certainly be better, I respray most scents after lunch anyway.
