Acqua di Parma Blu Mediterraneo - Arancia La Spugnatura

The best release of 2023 for me personally. I love citrus freshies anyway, but I think this might be my favourite straight up citrus forward fragrance ever. I basically just get the citruses but with very light touches of sweetness and creaminess, but the orange/mandarin easily stand out above everything else in the mix. Longevity is excellent for this type of fragrance, citrus heavy fragrances don't tend to last all that long, but on clothes this lasts all day. On skin it's about average but on my t-shirt I was still smelling it in the night after spraying it on at 8am and being in work all day. Named due to the process of rubbing the citrus fruits against a sponge and draining the infused oils. This seems to have done wonders for the longevity of the citruses within this fragrance, as well as how great they smell. This is a stunner and perfect for hot/warm summer days, and totally unisex. 10/10 from me.

The best citrus scent I've ever smelled. It smells like the juiciest Sicilian blood orange you've ever had, but with a touch of vanilla sweetness and the tiniest bit of spice to round things out. Not too grassy or fresh which I like, and also smells like a real perfume, not like "mm i want to eat this" which I also like. It's true it's not very complex, you will smell like citrus with this on and everyone will say "yep that's citrus" but I have never smelled another citrus scent that is so good. I'm usually a fall-winter fragrance kind of person but this spring-summer one is a delight. Savoring it since we'll never be able to buy it again :,-(

The smoother and less punch in yo face citrus arancia di capri with a gorgeous dry down. If you love arancia di capri and dont know this smell its not really blindbuy safe but it is at the same time. Youll love it but not like arancia di capri. Imagine capri being an orange straight from a tree on a beach. Spugnatura is you drinking that oranges juice on a nice relaxing beach chair with a sofa in fancy clothes watching the sun set over the horizon. Love it.

Interesting, this fragrance smells different on tester strip than it does on skin. On tester it's more orange focused, while on skin you still get the orange but it adds what seems like a marine quality to it, maybe a calone or ambergis, especially in the drydown. Loving this so far and I am glad I picked it up.

Had to buy it after smelling it in a perfumery. Very nice take on a summer citrus scent. Unique juicyness that smells very natural. Drydown is a leafy mandarin zest with a bit of spicynes and creaminess coming from almond and musk. It's a bit expensive so don't go for it if you're short on budget.

Although the longevity is short but still one of the best cologne I have ever smelled. It's pity that it's no more available as it was released as a Limited Edition. Hope to become available again. I don't know why the fragrance was even removed from the brand's website?

I just got this from jomashop so I guess it’s back? This is the summer orange I’ve been searching for. Fresh, sweet. Little hints of the pepper and wood but mostly straight ahead arancia! Moderate projection and sillage. Perfect for beach, pool, etc.

Plz bring it back to the market! Mine is about running 2 of 10. Compare with it original version, it's more warmer and sweet, not that sharp as the original one. They said that they were lunched a 450ml refill package, but never seen it, sadly :(

Beautiful mandarin smell that is really reminiscent of mountain chai as well. I love this, and this would definitely be something I'd wear, however the price tag on it is outrageous for me.

this bottle smells clean, orangy throughout of the scent life! A little spicy from black pepper but not overpowering, i would say the touch of creaminess of bitter almond is well blended!

Its a lovely scent, but overpriced! Otherwise get some manadarin oranges, peal them with your hands, and after you're done eating dont wash you hands. It is a simple as that 😄

This doesn't smell like the original, and is not redundant. It's a different citrus vibe, creamy almond and musk. I prefer it to the original. Very nice.

It is the best smelling citrus fragrance and mandarin orange is potent throughout the fragrance but around 170£ and lasts 1 hour and barely projects

Tested on skin twice. Initially I dismissed it as a less impressive version of the original. I love the original, but performance is terrible. Tested again today and liked it more than I originally did. I picked up some soapy musk and wood in the base which I didn't notice the first time. The citrus is on full blast in this one. I hold the original Arancia Di Capri in high regard and this feels unenessary and uninspired. Need to test side by side but longevity seems boosted by an aroma chemical, but it's still poor. You will need to spray the living hell out either Arancia to get them to have any legs. Ideally, carry a decant. Performance isn't a deal breaker for me, it goes with the territory. I LOVE the house of ADP, and I've owned many, but I've still never paid full retail for any of them. 50 bucks for 3.4oz is the sweet spot for the Mediterraneo class, and ideally, try to get 5 or 6 ounce bottles because they go fast. Anyway, yeah, this feels like a waste of creativity and resources. @ Acqua Di Parma, if you're listening, please bring back Ginepro and Cedro, and stop messing around with silly flankers in pretty bottles. You're better than this. TL;DR: OG with citrus dialed up, slightly better longevity (but still bad) and little tweaks to the base that are hardly perceivable. Scent 6/10 Performance 3.5/10

This scent is very much a sibling to Arancia di Capri but I'd say it's a small upgrade. I've experimented with both separately and have spent a day (in the name of science) wearing one on each arm and can confirm that they are very similar, both with the same strong, fresh, orange scent that is very pleasant and natural. Initially they are near identical, however this fragrance seems to stay stronger for longer and slightly more "full" but the core smells are the same. I also feel that the woody (cedar) dry down is a bit more prominent after a couple of hours too. Both are nice fragrances, particularly if you want to smell like oranges but I'd say this is the (slightly) better of the two. Though I probably wouldn't pay a huge premium to get this over the original.

The special thing about this fragrance is the bitter almond! I love bitter almond scents. Pegasus by Parfums de Marly is a good example. Here we have a high quality Italian summer fragrance. Lots of ripe oranges and tangerines. Luckily I don't smell the lemon. I prefer oranges. Musk rounds off the scent wonderfully. But the best is the bitter almond. This makes the scent beautifully creamy, almost like a lotion. For me it is a fragrance that you can even wear in autumn and winter. A masterpiece!

The initial smell is glorious, so fresh and fruity! I felt sure this was going to be a secure buy... However, the scent simply disappeared on me leaving me disappointed. I wanted to love this fragrance as many of my favourite notes are present but sadly once my sample is finished there will be no pennies spent on getting more. There are far better citrus scents available.

Beautiful refreshing orange with the right amount of sweetness and zestiness. It also had something floral and powdery (might be an orange blossom?). Soft musky base. Simple but nice! Follow me on IG: scent.guide
