Acqua Nobile Rosa

[AUG. 2021] This was the kind of rose I wanted for quite a while! Most non-niche designer florals tend to be too sweet or too bright and they usually make my nose invert itself but the 125ml Rosa EDT is exactly the pretty, light, dainty and surprisingly natural smelling tea-rose I've tried. Even Jo Malone didn't cut it (PS: I love Bronze Wood and Leather.) I've had real rosewater and AdP's Rosa is a wearable version of that with none of the musky damp smell or pond-water inclinations of other "dirty" / naturalist roses (my exception for this genre goes to Paestum Rose, Olene, Florence Iris, Prive, Narcotic Venus, Feminite Du Bois, La Panthere Parfum, and Oud Royal.) Has that beautiful rosewater smell very similar to Serge Lutens' Santal Majuscule but the Majuscule's cocoa-rosewood powdery sweetness got too cloying for me after a prolonged use of time. (Ironically, I still can't get enough of the milk-incense of my Carner Palo Santo because its that delicious! I guess for Majuscule it was both too bright and too heavy. Also sold my Creed Acqua Fiorentina after a while because if I'm getting this and Narcotic Venus (or Roja 51 Essence), best to send off Fiorentina to a more caring home!) Regardless, with 125ml and a beautiful stand (the base of its box) and large bottle for this price this was a pretty good deal for me! Sometimes I might be anosmic but people around me can definitely pick up my Rosa. Quite like a 4711 but less body-tonic, more like perfume: light and multi-use with added body and detail thanks to Rosa's supporting cast of well picked spring flowery notes! If you loved Perfume Workshop's Tea Rose (1977) this is the bang-for-buck upgrade you're looking for - - goodbye to itchy alcohol sensations and eye-wateringly thin and sharp emulations of roses. (Also consider for a wonderful time with quality florals: perfumes by Dawn Spencer Hurwitz, Patricia Nicolai, and Amouage! If this is your favourite genre of florals please enjoy Amouage's Love Mimosa!) PS: The others are right, its very Magnolia flower smelling! This is probably why I picked Rosa EDT over Magnolia Nobile, besides price tag and the Magnolia Nobile's "yes, yes..." milquetoast agreeableness.

I have a vivid image from my childhood. Wintertime, I'm asleep and my parents are back from the movies. My bedroom is like a freezer, my mother enters my bedroom and on top of my blanket covers me with her fur coat. The fur coat was impregnated with a scent similar to Rosa Nobile. Rosa Nobile is like a warm hug.the rose is accurate and perceptible but it's a clear scent, not heady. But I Guess peony and violet help on that. Undoubtedly I would purchase this fragrance, it's extremely nice and attractive. But perhaps it's my mind playing emotional blackmail to my senses. Either way, I really like it. As feminine as it gets.

Still no reviews, so I will add mine. Got a small tester spray vial of this perfume, decided to try it on, my partner likes rose perfumes, I always think they are a bit "old lady cupboard", or soap like. This was a pleasant surprise, it is not only soapy rose, but it has a nice freshness, something citrus like in the opening, then a fresh touch of cassiss, very gentle. And lots of fresh roses, almost smelling like wild roses. Reminds me or rose scented lemonade, and that is good. Nice spring early summer perfume, it reminds me a bit of Eau d'Issey, but I can't say why. May be I'll become a rose convert...

The opening of Acqua Nobile Rosa features a more obvious lemon note than Rosa Nobile. But after about 30 minutes, these two have a very similar revolution on me - turning from a unisex peppery rose to an aqueous concoction of limpid rose, peony and salty musk. I can't tell much difference even comparing them side by side. The sillage is moderate to soft and the longevity is around 9 hours. Acqua Nobile Rosa is as pretty and modern as Rosa Nobile, just slightly more citrus and lighter. But I'm not sure it stands out among other similar but more affordable modern rose fragrances.

A very nice and freshsweet Rose/Musk/soft pepper-mix scent. Great for the office or everyday-scent. Reminds me alot of Van Cleef Arpels Feerie Rose des Neiges. En väldigt fräsch och lite söt Ros/Musk/ mjuk peppar-mix doft. Perfekt för kontoret eller som varje-dag-doft. Påminner mycket om Van Cleef & Arpels Rose des Neiges.

Rose scent created in old-fashioned, solid way, that makes me think of charming high society ladies in the 40's. It's true rose with a bit of spice. So far from today's mainstream sweet sticky scents!

Pretty but nothing to remember or groundbreaking. It could be a safe gift to buy

Sometimes you find cheap perfumes that smell expensive (the best kind!) and sometimes you find expensive perfumes that just don't live up to the pricetag. This is the latter for me. The top notes of this are a loud, obnoxious, very typical "perfumy" smell that I feel like I've smelled hundreds of times before and didn't like it any of those hundreds of times either. Once you get down to the pretty little rose that's been buried, suffocating under all the top notes, it's so quiet and exhausted from all the weight that it's barely detectable. I'd have to spray too much of the part I don't like to smell the part that I do like, and that's a no-go for me for sure.

Another beautiful bright rosey fragrance. In the Acqua Nobile tradition of splendidly blended florals, on a slightly sweet, creamy base. I often prefer to wear the Aqua EDT versions, the top and middle notes are uplifted and more able to escape the more dense/intense EDP base notes of this line. I barely detect the citrus. The freesias and pepper feel very present to begin in this cool weather testing, alongside a soft fruity edge. Salty sweet skin, of amber and musk. And of course, the main players, a full blooming bushel of roses. I could have done without the freesia (I just don't enjoy freesia note in perfumery) and cyclamen notes, but they're not too much of a pair of intruders to the mix. It reminds me somewhat of With Love by Guerlain, but i prefer Rosa Nobile, as it's easier to wear, brighter, more rosey, a more sweet amber dry down, without the sharp, slightly chalky "florality" that is so present in floral perfumes from early 2000's. La Colle Noire also springs to mind, even Aerin's Rose de Grasse. Depends what you are looking for in a rose. This rose is pretty, modern, clean, quite simple, but not boring. EDIT: this has really quite a powerful scent to my nose today. esp. for an EDT. It's been a few hours, it seems to intensify with wear.

I had sampled the previous version of Rosa Nobile and liked it but found that it had poor longevity. This newer version is very synthetic smelling, more sour fruity with the black currant note, and smells like every other synthetic rose perfume out there. Luckily, the one I'm wearing today was a free gift with purchase from Nordstrom. Very glad I didn't spend the money for a rollerball of this! Unoriginal, and I don't like the black currant note.

A pretty "pink" rose with a supporting cast of fruit and other flowers. Nothing unexpected or out of the ordinary. Just a fresh, gauzy, weightless rose for those who don't like the intense, almost jammy red roses that you sometimes get. I like both kinds :) but I guess I will look for something more unique.

Not very rosey, a lot of calone though. Reminds me more of magnolia accord than rose. That is not bad to me as i am often put off by strong rose scents but the calone"freshness" is not something i enjoy. Simple slightly rosey freshness is what you find here.
