Arancia di Capri La Riserva

This smells like a slow summer with someone you love. The opening is a soft, glowing burst of orange; smooth and well rounded, where everything is on display from pith, skin to zest, whilst the blood orange gives gorgeous bittersweet bite, like fresh fruit sat in the beating sun. The rosemary and salt give a Mediterranean flair and the woody elements conjure up visuals of a table for two. No rush. No tension. Just presence This smells like familiar desire. Lovers hands clasped during a stroll to lunch, scintillating Mediterranean breeze. Citrus in the air, salt on the skin. It is a summer where nothing needed to happen, but so much did.

I’m a huge fan of FICO di amalfi and arancia di capri BUT this is without a doubt the best offering from the la riserva line. Juicy blood orange that absolutely sparkles in the high heat with salty mineral notes. Might be my new favorite from aqua di Parma. And don’t get me wrong the new fico di amalfi is still amazing I purchased that as well but something about this arancia di capri just does it for me as I live in Arizona and it’s so hot here. The fico di amalfi I say would be excellent for nights out during the summer as it is sweeter.

I found this acqua di parma maybe 3 weeks ago, and was really surprised at how good it performs and lasts compared to the older acqua di parma fragrances. 4 hours after spraying this on, I was still enjoying this smells it had on offer, walking the streets of the city. On initial spray It gives lots of citrus and fruitiness, its very light and settles quickly to a more masculine earthy/woody mineral scent with that blood orange citrus smell remaining in the background. Amazing summer fragrance in my opinion.

I always enjoy orange-based fragrances (have not quite forgiven L'Occitane for discontinuing Feu d'Orange), and this one almost knocks it out of the park. The additional maceration gives it greater depth and the bigerade together with blood orange and petitgrain provide a very satisfying citrus kick, supported by aromatic herbs. Cannot say that I can identify the mineral notes, but presume they are adding something to the overall composition.

This is my new ‘go-to’ scent for work situations. I really like the orange zest, and the riserva version is a massive advance on the non-riserva, which I felt lacked projection and longevity, so did not buy. There is an added depth and creaminess here (as others have said), that gives it a real edge. I’m really enjoying.
