Colonia Il Profumo

The Il Profumo version of the iconic Colonia by Acqua di Parma was released in 2025 and was, I think, a little overdue. The original Colonia was and still is my most worn fragrance ever and I have been wearing it from around 2008 to about a year ago. I’ve literally gone through six or seven bottles of it and it is as close to a signature scent as you will ever get to for me. It is this gorgeous, super evocative barbershop scent that fizzes with citrusses and greens. There aren't many fragrances that are as simply uplifting or as versatile as the original Colonia for me. But as my journey with it went on, I started to become aware of its limitations. It does only last a couple of hours, tops. It is fairly linear. For the money it costs, it was always more style over substance even when I didn't necessarily understand that. In hindsight I think Colonia Essenza was the turning point for me, even if again, I didn't get that at the time. The latter was darker, more complex, better performing and more “me” and in comparison I started to find Colonia a little lightweight. I stopped reaching for it on nights out or for more formal settings. Eventually, I found myself wearing the original less and less. Colonia il Profumo is a more complex, less linear scent that is stronger and does perform better. Now, it is important to calibrate your expectations here. It is a citrus-heavy Bergamot freshie (now featuring pineapple and a bit more mandarin in the head notes) with a middle of lavender and patchouli and a very refined, slightly austere sandalwood base. That hasn’t changed. But if you’re expecting beast mode performance from these notes you’ll be disappointed. It does however go to a very credible 3-4 hours projection and it does retain that classic AdP Colonia feel as a skin scent for a few hours after that. It performs about as well as anything with these notes in feasibly could and is dramatically better than the original. The mids and the base see more changes that make Il Profumo a little more contemporary too. The rose in the original is diminished but there is still that classic powdery feel in the heart that I love so much. Il Profumo goes heavier on the patchouli and has a lot more wood in the base. It is a mossier, more complex concoction and there is some leather in it that wasn’t there before. It’s not big or domineering but I do enjoy it. The vetiver is stronger in the Il Profumo version I feel, and there is some ylang-ylang that adds some more jasmine-y feels alongside the jasmine and neroli notes that are stronger and more on the front foot than we saw in the original. The sweetness is still there, it is just as charming as the original. I think Il Profumo is excellently done. It goes a long way to addressing the performance issues that Colonia had and adds just enough complexity and new things without ever diluting or disassociating from the iconic Colonia DNA. It isn't a Colonia flanker, it is just Colonia but better. Honestly, there are many fragrances in this segment and I can admit that I own many more of these than I need. Neroli Portofino by Tom Ford is similar. Bois Imperial and Cedrat Bois by Essential Parfums and Mancera respectively are woodier but closer to Il Profumo than the original Colonia. Sunday Cologne by Byredo is very similar but a bit fresher. Aurilien Guichard’s luminary Neroli Oranger is an absolute powerhouse on very adjacent DNA. Bergamote 22 by Le Labo is one I love and wish it lasted longer on my skin. The very underrated Villa Neroli by BDK is a sweeter and muskier, more sensual take on the same theme. Soliel d’italia by Mancera is a spicier and woodier take as well. Buongiorno by AdP is another one in my collection that isn't the same but is one you’d wear in the same way for the same occasions. That is eleven bottles already and that is without getting into a debate on whether Byredo’s Bal D’Afrique and L’Eau des Hesperides by Diptyque belong in that group as well. All are great and all are worth having. But at some point you wonder how all these can justify their places in my collection if they are so similar. My answer is that it is a classic style and one that I wear more than any other. It is especially rewarding here in Dubai where it is hot for most of the year and can also be very humid. They get a heavy rotation here. Of all these, there are several I genuinely adore and love wearing. But there is something elevated about Il Profumo. I cannot quite explain it. There are others in the list that perform better. There are others that I wear more often. There are others that are more interesting and complex. There are others that have more appeal for those around me. There are others that actually smell better on me too, which is an odd thing to admit, I know. But there is something in Il Profumo that makes it something I get a buzz from reaching for. Is it because it reminds me of years gone by, more carefree and simpler times? I’m not sure. I think maybe it is just that it is cool. Elevating. Think: crisp, ironed white shirt, good jeans, designer belt, brown slip on loafers and a pair of Tom Ford sunglasses. Cashmere sweater on the shoulders very optional. Laughter. Sunshine. Prosecco. This is the vibe AdP has always had for me and Il Profumo goes right to the heart of that. You don't buy this one because of its performance or even its scent; you buy it because it is a whole vibe on its own. Fragrance has always sold on visual representations in advertising and 99.9% of the time they miss the mark because of how detached the imagery is from my own reality. I always remember that TV advert for D&G Light Blue where we were mendaciously led to believe that wearing this fragrance would make us look like the unfeasibly chiseled model climbing into a boat in the Amalfi Coast, because of how over the top ridiculous it was. The genius of AdP is that you already know the imagery and it speaks to you without them needing to do TV spots or magazine glossies. Their vibe is why people love them, because it feels much more accessible than the rest. It is why I love Il Profumo and why AdP - il Profumo, Essence, Bergamoto di Calabria, the outstanding new Mirto di Panarea Reserva or perhaps any of the new Buongiorno flankers - will always have a presence in my collection. There's juiciness there, but it's tempered by a silver bitterness. The sting of something real, something intentional. It doesn't smell clean in a clinical way. It smells like skin that's just stepped out of shadow and into light. As the hours move forward, things start to drift. Ylang-ylang and orange leaf build a texture that's dusty and regal - like velvet theatre seats in an empty house. Floral, yes, but structured. Tailored. It carries a masculine weight that feels fluid, like a heavy silk shirt worn open. Doesn't demand space. Just... occupies it. Quietly. With a kind of shadowed authority. The base is where the haunting begins. Amber and cedarwood settle in - warm, resonant, like polished wood in a room where the fire just went out. There's a ghost of leather, too. A well-worn jacket. I had posted a review of this fragrance in the past, when I sniffed it at a store and couldn't get over how good it smelled. I am happy to report that I was able to get my hands on a 100ml bottle of it and wear it a couple of times. I still stand by what I said a long while ago. This is an absolute banger of a fragrance. This is a quite complex fragrance. The opening is pretty much bright, fizzy, very strong, almost bitter citruses with some sweetness in the background. Most of the very strong citruses wear off in around an hour or two, leaving behind the sweetness and introducing some floral notes. This sounds very feminine, but the sandalwood (and maybe leather too?) slaps it right back into the masculine zone (or unisex at the very least). Definitely not a super masculine fragrance, and I can imagine ladies being able to pull this one off without too much of a problem. The dry down lasts around 7 -8 hours on my skin which is really really impressive for this kind of fragrance. In total, the fragrance lasts for around 8-9 hours on my skin. This is not a weak fragrance by any means. And if this somehow still doesn't satisfy you, you can apply a bit of it to your clothes without having to worry about them getting spoiled. Just make sure you apply from a distance and avoid applying on pure white clothes. This is easily a 3 season special occasions fragrance for me. Every now and then, I just keep on reaching for the bottle, and sniffing the cap. This fragrance always brings a big wide smile to my face. I also got my hands on the OG colonia, and now I can actually see that they are quite a bit different from each other. Il Profumo is definitely the modern version of the OG colonia. If I were to talk in audiophile terms, ADP took the OG colonia, bass boosted it (made it sweeter), and treble boosted it (made the citruses stronger), and made it louder (project more and last more), and named it Il Profumo. The OG colonia does not have this much sweetness or brightness. It is for sure a timeless scent, but the Il Profumo, however, might not be considered as a timeless scent. I do prefer the Il Profumo, not just because of the longevity, but also the scent. Overall, I would rate this fragrance 10/10 not taking the high price point in consideration. Just the scent itself and its performance is absolute perfection.

I messed up by smelling it at a store the other day. Now I am desperately waiting for it to hit discounters......If it doesn't hit discounters by 3 months or so, I will just buy it full retail. I am just taking the benefit of the fact that this is a summer-ish fragrance and right now it is full winter. This was my first time smelling anything from Acqua Di Parma. My initial reaction to it was something like: "It feels like somebody squeezed a lemon right inside my nose".....in short, I didn't like it. However, I took the test strip home along with many others that I smelled at the store that day. Colonia Il Profumo grew on me like bamboo. And I can easily say that this would last a really really long time on the skin since i could still smell the perfume on the strip 3 days after. To me, this is the freshest smelling fragrance that I ever put my nose on. This one would easily be a "special occasions summer fragrance" in my collection. I would easily rock it during the day and even night. Honestly, my nose isn't developed enough to be able to make out much of a difference between the OG version (Colonia EDC) and this version. The only difference was that this one smells a little more strong, a little more on the lemon which I can easily say is just because it has more fragrance oil. I am not buying the EDC because everybody says that it doesn't last more than 4 hours. I am only waiting for the Il Profumo because of the longevity. Otherwise I would say both are quite similar and I don't have a preference for one over the other. And yes, this is my first Fragrantica review EVER. I just had to start with this fragrance. I am absolutely in love with it.

Firstly, this is a very AdP style fragrance, that doesn’t veer off a well trodden path so fans of the house will be pleased. I’ve only just got it so will update more once I’ve worn it properly. However, first impressions give me a very bright, fizzy citrus opening that’s strong and potent. As it dries down, the florals come to the fore and this stage actually reminds me more of pre-reformulated Essenza, which I had many years ago. It has that soapy clean, floral musk. Fortunately, I don’t find the florals too feminine and this can easily be worn by anyone. I’m not a patchouli fan but fortunately I don’t get much in the base. It’s very reminiscent of Colonia overall but with a more modern vibe. Performance seems decent although not a powerhouse but certainly more potent than many of their fragrances, lasting throughout the day with a good amount of projection for a few hours before lingering as a more intimate scent. I find it perfectly unisex and this will be a stunner when the summer arrives. Fans of AdP style fragrances who wish for better performance will find this super appealing. They’ve stuck to what they do best rather than taking it into completely different territory which is a big win for me. The big trick they’ve pulled off very well, imho, is maintaining the essence of Colonia but giving it a slight update so it doesn’t smell so dated, whilst increasing performance which is always a good thing. I could imagine this becoming very popular. Gorgeous fragrance, bravo AdP.

Smooth well rounded old school soap that you would use in your grandparents home. Nothing wrong with the experience if you’re looking for that. It’s not sharp or harsh I think the smoothness contributes to the modernization of this release which was needed. These days oakmoss is considered dated and was mostly used to amplify fragrance notes. I like that the oakmoss is tuned down. I suspect patchouli was the replacement for oakmoss in the 90s which has also been phased out as well. It’s really good though. I’d wear this over TF Neroli Portafino. I think this would be great for spring and summer dressed up of dressed down. Could be a wedding scent too. Great for the office, it’s calm but yet professional yet clean. I can picture myself wearing this if I had golfing and tennis lessons too or maybe just a stroll in the park with the fam, or a loved one. Could be a beach scent as well, I can see this being worn on a nice summer night with a breeze on a date, could be considered as sexy at that point along a walk on the beach as the sun sets down heading to a seafood restaurant for dinner or for ice cream. This is what modern classy smells like to me. This is the fragrance you’ll associate to some of the best moments of your life when you wear this, when you look back 20 years from now on those moments when you look at this bottle at that time an by then maybe there will be many more iterations of this that have some remnants of the past installed. Tracked down and deleted my old comment which I wrote immediately after the release of this fragrance, when it was only available in retail stores for absurd prices. (I was extolling the merits of the fragrance whilst complaining about the RRP lol). The Colonia line has always been a favorite, and I'm on my second bottle of Essenza. When this one came out, I knew I was going to get a bottle (and probably Buongiorno, too, despite having T21 in the collection since it is also very good). Some very authentic and sharp citrus here, but not the soapy aftermath usually encapsulating the entire mid and dry down. This is smooth, elegant, gentlemanly in every facet. My usual complaint with ADP, is performance. I didn't find the longevity to be too bad, especially considering ADP's are notorious for short-lived longevity and somewhat lackluster sillage. This one is not bad at all. In fact, I'd almost say it just about surpasses my Essenza a bit. In short, I loved the fragrance, but have a hard time spending over $300 for something that I know will be significantly less after some time passes, and the discounters have their say. Picked up a bottle from a reputable online shop for less than $90, and couldn't be happier. Good things come to those who wait...

It's that type of scent very appealing to me. Here we have nothing new for sure but this parfum is very nice. So nice that i bought a 180ml bottle. basically it's the original colonia but more modern, deeper, denser. This and buongiorno are very solid releases. Regarding the performance, i have to say that my 180ml bottle has an inferior performance compared to the 100ml tester bottle of the store. The difference is quite clear to my nose. So this is the only down side, i hope the maturation of the juice will help me. However the smell is fantastic but the price is a bit too high considering the performance (at least with my bottle). Bellissimo profumo, è la classica colonia ma un po' più moderna, più densa e interessante. Se vi piace il genere è un amore scontato. L'unica cosa deludente è la performance: la mia bottiglia da 180ml ha una performance nettamente inferiore a quella del tester del negozio. Acqua di Parma Il Profumo is a citrus, herbal, and woody fragrance. Its opening has excellent citrus and herbal notes, as is customary with Acqua di Parma. Bergamot and lime are the most noticeable, along with herbal notes of petitgrain, basil, lemon verbena, and neroli flower. As the minutes pass, woody notes, oakmoss, vetiver, patchouli, and a leather accord vaguely reminiscent of Parma Leather increase in presence, but in this fragrance, the aromatics dominate. This new version of the Acqua di Parma cologne line is ideal for daytime wear in any season and occasionally for evening wear during the summer. Perfect for office work, formal, or casual situations, as it provides a good degree of elegance. The longevity of this fragrance was not bad for me, lasting up to 8 hours. With a good scent trail for the first two hours, it's moderate to weak throughout its development. This is another fragrance I really liked from the 2025 releases, and I've already enjoyed several this year.

I do like the Colonia line very much, the original, pura and essenza. Saying this is tried this out in John Lewis last week and it’s amazing and bought a 50ml bottle on the spot. Fresh, quite fruity citrus, not too sweet. Relatively long lasting and natural citrus too, maintains the same dna of the original Colonia so if you like that it’d be hard to not love this. Everything feels updated with more advanced ingredients . A bit fruiter and a more long lasting dry down, projects for a couple of hours and dries down to a slightly fruity, soapy neroli. If you have the money to burn it’s an easy, impossible to hate, blind buy especially for aa more mature man/woman who likes citrus and pettigrain/neroli. Either way do yourself a favour and seek it out to sample next time you see an Acqua de Parma stand. Outside of this site, I will gatekeep this for myself :)

A fragrance that decodes the DNA of the original Colonia (1916) and refines it into a more concentrated, long-lasting parfum, while preserving its signature freshness from morning to evening. Main notes: Citrus, Lavender, Leather This is a scent that truly defines the term classic gentleman. It opens with bright, clean Italian citrus, seamlessly blended with lavender that evokes a crisp, refined barbershop character. As it develops, the heart reveals the quiet luxury of genuine leather warm, smooth, and calming settling into a refined, composed dry-down. The overall impression is elegant, restrained, and confident without ever feeling forced. Mood: Polished, luxurious, and professional. Perfect with a tailored suit on a workday or for daytime occasions where you want the fragrance to speak for a personality that is “gentle yet sharp.”

The declared notes on the Brand's wabapge are: top= Bergamot, Grapefruit, Blood Orange and Petirgrain; heart=Rosemary, Ylang Ylang and Orange Leaves Absolute; and bottom= Vetiver and Patchouli. More modern than the other two Colonia releases I own (Colonia Intensa, Colonia Futura). The Grapefruit accord provides some sweet red berry nuances that nicely balance the dry and bitter facets of Bergamot and Grapefruit. The star of the show is the tart and zesty Orange Leaf Absolute, supported by Ylang Ylang, Rosemary and the green/sliglhtly earthy Vetiver/Patchouli notes at the base. It has a moderate projection after the first hour, so you might want to reapply it. It's masculine leaning, office-safe and perfect for Spring and Summer. Perhaps a bit expensive for the projection and sillage it offers, but very classy and natural smelling.

You want a citrus cologne type smell that’s going to last? Going to have to make some compromises. This is that. And in line with LV line of freshies. Naturals mixed with synthetics/molecules to helps push it and stretch out performance. And you can smell it. It doesn’t have the fully natural smell of the OG. But it does have the staying power. However after a few hours it’s more of an intimate affair. I always find that with scents like these, when you spray them is the best most uplifting part. I don’t mind reapplying if I can. It’s that burst of freshnes that is mood lifting and refreshing. And for those that have it, during the mid and base you get wafts of Dior’s Eau Savauge EDP. Also the notes here are off. There is no pineapple or neroli. Wish they had put neroli.

A great signature worthy scent. Has freshness, depth and the versatility with the notes in the drydown to be worn wherever and whenever. Bright, citrusy & slightly fruity at the start with a careful dose of Lavender to give it an aromatic touch combined with a floral accord that blends in naturally. The clean vibe stays with the fragrance for most of the life of the fragrance while still projecting a nice warming depth from the woods & a nice Patchouli note that just dips in and out from time to time. Truly a very well done fragrance by this house that can be used with ease & comfortably while still establishing a sophisticated, well put together vibe. Worth sampling in my opinion. Clean & nicely masculine that will work in any situation.

I feel like a ton of people write off this fragrance as another barbershop, soapy, fresh fragrance, but that just isn't the case here. It has that sophisticated edge that a lot of freshies don't have while maintaining an intense citrus in the opening. It dries down to this really nice spicy and floral scent profile while still maintaining a bit of citrus and woody undertone. Most people say this is a summer, day time fragrance, but honestly I disagree. I think the elegant dry down allows for this to become a night time scent with its sweet and spicy profile. This was one of my first scents that I truly fell in love with and it will forever hold a place in my heart.

This one's good. Really good. It was also long overdue. The original Colonia was too much great-grandfather. The Essenza too much grandfather. Both super weak concentrations and their deeply-discounted prices online reflected that. This Profumo brings it all home with everything you need. Kept the DNA, made it stronger, added a modern elegant vibe to it. I was in the hunt to add a modern (but with old-school DNA) citrus aromatic barbershop in my collection. Colonia, Eau Sauvage Parfum, and Bon Monsieur EDP didn't cut it anymore for 2026. It was a coin-flip between this Colonia Il Profumo and Naughton Wilson's Bon Viveur. Colonia won out. Absolutely love it.

This is a 10/10 for me and my current go-to fragrance. It is indeed a modern classic. I have multiple scents from this house and it stands out - even alongside the OG Colonia and Note Di Colonia I which is my choice from that range. Colonia Il Profumo takes the original Colonia, loses the soap and adds modernity plus a wonderful sherbet citrus opening. A reviewer below said luminous overall, which I think is totally correct. I have Buongiorno too which I like for its initial linear minty blast - but there is no comparison between the two for complexity. This one is addictive!

Definitely in the lane of the Colonia line, feels like the original Colonia with that Lemon, Petitgrain and Verbena on top and Vetiver with Cedar to give it some depth. You can absolutely use it every day, even on autumn-winter, but it’s more suited in the day for these seasons. I personally feel it has too much depth for a high heat summer day, but you may be able to get away with it if you like stronger fragrances, for this case I would definitely go with Essenza. Duration is good but not great or beast mode, absolutely worthy of trying this fragrance. 9.5/10

I scored this for a great price. It’s very very good. Is it similar to Essenza? Nope! Not at all. Lacks that very soapy vibe. This is more uplifting and citrus (lemon) forward. It’s much closer to the og colonia - I’d say there is nothing between them bar this is more intense and lasts longer. However the price difference can be huge - so if that’s the case I’d recommend the colonia over this - but if you can grab this at a discounter like I did (£70 for 50ml) then it’s worth it to go for the Profumo version.

Yes! This is what I'm talking about! Colonia is my favorite fragrance of all time so I'm very excited to own this. I've been wanting ADP to put just a BIT more emphasis on performance to make the house more relevant, and I'm glad this is how they begin. All that's left are some new modern Italian standalone fragrances (i.e. not a Colonia flanker or ingredients/Mediterraneo/signatures of the sun collection).

Imagine the original Colonia with the citrus turned up, oakmoss turned down, and added fruity nuances. The resulting Colonia Il Profumo refreshes the OG's DNA into a less dated formula, but unfortunately, the crap performance is still there. This turned into a skin scent after 2-3 hours. Totally not worth MRSP; got 100 mL for <$100 from a discount site.

Sensational, still one of the greatest casual/office scents out there. The base notes keeps this from being overpowered by the floral notes, and they combine beautifully. It has one of my favorite dry downs out there and it feels like it changes throughout the day. Easily lasts about 6-7 hours.

It's a lemon bomb just like the original. The original to me is a bit more zesty. It stung my nose when i tried it. This one I'd say is smoother. The performance on the original is terrible. This one is an EDP. I sprayed some on my wrist and it performed okay. I like it. I bought it.

A more refined and nuanced version of Colonia. Retains the citrus opening and the pleasing colonia DNA, but adds a touch of sweetness, warmth and more mature complexion. Lasts quite long on skin. Sandalwood and patchouli add nice woody notes to it. Would recommend 09/10.

Something between Hermes Citron Noir and Chanel pour monsieur, but a high quality, easy to wear juice. Unisex, although it leads to more masculine I would be happy to smell it on a woman. I will have to wait for spring to try it in the high temperature.

This scent instantly took me back to sitting in an Italian country estate, surrounded by lemon & orange orchards. It's fresh and rich, not overpowering. Unfortunately it didn't last more than a couple of hours on me, the only negative.

Just received this today and am immediately impressed. The sandalwood-suede-patchouli is sooo lovely and adds a nice warmth and depth to the hyperpresent super sparkly citrus. Unisex leaning masc so far. Will report back 🥰

Essenza revisited, modernized and more versatile, I prefer this one. I tested it today, it's 34°, unfortunately the longevity is not good on my skin, I will do another test later when it's milder

Ah, what a classic. Absolutely gorgeous and a tad more intense. Smells exceptionally masculine and something you would smell on someone that owns a yacht. So pleasant and inviting.

I love it! So juicy, full of zest with the elegant drydown. 10/10 Can’t wait for spring to come so I can given this one a proper wear in warmer weather.

Aloha all, I can’t get away from this. I wrote a review on Reddit and a version of it is: This cologne is Earnest Hemingway driving a limited edition convertible Porsche, with a 24 karat colored orange-yellow-brown supple leather interior, highlighted with a French Ultra Marine Blue trim. The exterior can be whatever color you like most: heather Grey, Black, Warm Dark Blue, or Silver? The motor was made by three well-dressed, sun-kissed Italian engineers, on loan from Ferrari, who took their time to pay homage to both Porsche and Ferrari ethos, while they perfected this smooth, efficient, quietly elegant rumble of a beast machine; adding several inches to the front, back, sides, and roominess; they also made sure not to deviate too far from either brand. A Porsche on the outside; a Ferrari on the inside, and a unique updated Porsche emblem. This Earnest Hemingway edition Porsche only drives during balmy weather and when the sun is glowing orange warmth, or is it that this car simply changes the weather to be as such whenever you are near it? Earnest drives from one town to the next. Stopping at restaurants along the way that overlook the Mediterranean. You warmly wave to him when his silage hits you. He’s not arrogant, at all, and smiles back. He never speeds, so you can see his face, but if you’re unaware... he might pass you before you smell him. When he stops to eat. Waiters bring him some fresh cheese, olive oil, and a small portion of healthy protein. He stays briefly, and is served an espresso which he drinks in and enjoys for what seems an eternity, yet quickly gets up and reads aloud to everyone his latest vignette he dreamt up while driving to this meal. He’s gone and you are left wanting more, but fully understanding a novel within minimal words. Like his prose, this cologne is: simple, succinct, and to the point. I have been cheating with this. It’s a near 9.6; however, it does not last as long as I’d like, and I have added some Molecule 01 to my travel bottle along with decanting some of this cologne into it, and I love it! Definitely helps! I also have molecule 01 + patchouli and molecule 01 + black tea. I just layered the M01 + patchouli, let it dry, and then applied my five sprays of Colonia il Profumo (one behind each ear, back of neck, chest, and shirt & neck - just after moisturizing with hyaluronic acid). This is my normal routine with this; however, you could go 7 sprays and if so, this is what I’d recommend if you’re going out out: Shower. Moisturize with Hyaluronic Acid; special attention to back of neck and behind ears. Spray behind each ear, one back of neck and hair, another moisturized undressed chest, one back of knees (squeeze close together), one spray into each crook of your elbow, held close to your body with your shirt now on (so some overspray hits your shirt), and then you’re done. Normally I’d only do five! This cologne needs five sprays, and possible refresh of three sprays several hours into your day. 3-5 for school, work, or day to day, and seven if you’re going out out. I think layering it with the M01 and patchouli is ingenuous! I already know the M01as a base helps. Tomorrow I will try two layering sprays of the M01+ black tea plus 5 sprays. I am afraid to derail the original, but I’m after longevity here and I am convinced the M01 helps. One small caveat is: the ylang ylang seems to bother my eyes until it dries down. I am a little sensitive to some things but not a lot, but I noticed this each time I wear it. I will push past this, because that is how elegant this scent is. For what it’s worth: I KrUsH Acqua Di Gio Profundo and just got the Elixir (and love it), most days of the week. I also appreciate Armani Code, Le Labo Tuberuse 40 & Santal, but my running top five are: Molecule 01 layered with: ADG Profundo. ADG Elixir (thus far - a little too new to tell - this might drop down one). This! And, layering is still being fleshed out. Molecule 01 layered with: Acqua Di Parma Amalfi. Prive Blue Laluzi.

This reminds me greatly of my late father's cologne, but much higher quality - lol, sorry dad!! :-) Total comfort scent for me. Wearing this on harder days makes things seem a little brighter, I think. This fragrance is so elegant. The bergamot and lemon open boldly, bitter and fresh REAL citrus. A little bit of the moss and vetvier come through right off the bat for me. The heart notes are where this one really shines, though. The citrus lingers but is less pronounced, the green earthy notes becoming even more pronounced, along with lush yet quiet ylang ylang, rose, and the most beautiful lavender I've ever smelled in a perfume. Grows increasingly more & more intimate over the hours, but never dulls. Genuinely debating buying a full bottle because of the premium quality, the exceptional longevity, as well as what I think to be very unisex appeal.

I agree with what @chemdar is saying a couple of messages below. I does inscribe itself in the colonia line (no surprises there). The pineapple is maybe the one note that sticks out. Once it dried down I found the neroli to really come forward and to make Colonia Il Profumo to smell a lot like Essenza. I don't know for the longevity if I would say it's greater than anything else in the line. It seems to be alongside Essenza and C.L.U.B. but I would need to try a few more times to be sure. Overall a pleasant experience, but I will wait until it hits discounter sites before considering buying it. In the meantime, I'll stick to Essenza to get my Colonia fix.

Once the smell dries down, you immedietly just get hit with citrus. Like seriously. The flowery undertones mixed with that makes me think of my grandmother, but also a fancy restaurant's bathroom. Or maybe the lobby of a hotel you can't afford. It's a lot on the nose for me personally, but I think a single spray would be very nice!!

I like this fragrance, but then I adore citrus. My first spray was onto paper, I detected sandalwood mixed in with Bergamot. On my skin it warms up and I can smell Ylang Yang and a hint of woody. It does not last long unless you spray onto clothing.

To me, this fragrance smells alike to colonia. the differences are the slight pineapple notes at the top of the fragrance that is gone after a few second and that this has greater longevity compared to anything else in the colonia line.

I’m anti Citrus guy and I like this one which is citrus based, that says a lot

At last, what all the Colonia fans have been waiting for. A parfum of the beautiful fragrance that will last. Unfortunately this is not it. I have the original Colonia, which is amazing, but wears off quickly as we know. Then I purchased Essenza hoping for something that lasts longer (which it mildly does).Then I accidentally found out that there was a parfum drop of the original. So I received a bottle for my Birthday and was super exited to try this version out. Four good neck sprays and one on each wrist reveals a nice lemon and Neroli scent and that’s about it. Hasn’t got the nice soapy/powdery trail of the original and dries down just as quickly to nothing within an hour or so. It’s a pretty basic scent that you wouldn’t mind spending £25 on but not over £100. So after waiting a long time for this release and I’ve used it everyday for a week now and have to ask other people ‘can you smell it’?, to which the answer is “barely”. So overall way too expensive for a generic fresh scent that won’t last. A disappointment I’m afraid.

Modern interpretation of the classic however personally I prefer the original. Colonia has a timestamp on it, it feels of its time and timeless. Part of the reason I enjoy it so much is to think of all the people who have worn it through the years and how it was the scent in the air during periods of history. This opens much the same to my nose and stays similar for the first hour or so but when the soapy citrus notes begin to drop off your left with a very modern woody base which could be any number of modern perfumes. The original settles into a feeling of quiet Italian confidence where as this just loses that in my opinion. It’s nice but it doesn’t scratch the same itch as the original. It’s a product of it’s time and the fact that the general populous want everything to last forever and project heavily, some things aren’t meant to.

Have smelt this today and I am not impressed. This iteration smells like a marketing product (which factually it is if you check the website and all the very expensive accessories presented with the launch of this eau de parfum) because it lacks personality compared to the original and as such will please the largest common denominator, which is LVMH politics nowadays. Leans more feminine too. A hard pass and makes me appreciate my last buy, Bienaimé Monsieur, even more.

Wonderful and FUN lemon candy opening. Then turned saltier with shades of my beloved Colonia Futura. But the final stage smelled like the original Colonia, which is to say, old-fashioned.

An aftershave gel for a 60 year old man that surprisingly lasts quite long as for perfumes of this brand. If you like Versace LHomme or Eau Savage, you will definitely like this one too.

Bug spray/citronella candles. The citrus is really astringent in this one. Smells a little soapy also from the strong neroli. Not a fan

This is not acqua di parma style of cologne. Cheap synthetics feels like dior sauvage.
