Acqua Di Parma Men Colonia Quercia opens with a moderate projection of citrus, floral, spicy and woody accords. The petitgrain is the most noticeable opening note, it comes as sharp, and green; the bergamot is by its, sharp citrusy, the cardamon and cedarwood mix their notes producing a smooth fresh, vibrant woody-spicy and very aromatic scent, unique and characteristic of this fragrance. The geranium adds a floral touch but it is not as prominent as the combination of cardamon and cedarwood, also, the pink pepper is a soft touch. As the fragrance commences to dry down, the oakmoss becomes noticeable supporting the woody notes; the patchouli is just a pinch and adds a faint green touch; finally, the tonka bean adds its enveloping aroma and sweetens all notes. The most noticeable opening to dry-down changes are, the sharp citrus accords and the greenness of the petitgrain is noticeable during the opening, however, towards the dry-down, it partially fades away and softens; the bergamot is short-lived and confined to the opening; the tonka is more prominent towards the dry-down and smooths the fragrance with a soft powdery-like accord. Once Acqua Di Parma Men Colonia Quercia has reached its full dry-down, it can be summarized as a moderate projection, sweet, cardamon, and cedarwood fragrance with some green, citrus and floral accords. The fragrance feels aromatic, elegant, exotic, high-quality, masculine, mature, modern, nicely-blended, playful, slightly powdery (especially once the tonka has fully set in), rare, rich, sweet, unique, versatile, warm, woody, and very pleasant. Bvlgari Man (no the Black version) EDT includes softwood and fruity notes; Cuba Gold Men EDT is an affordable woody, floral and spicy fragrance; Guerlain L'Homme Ideal EDP By Guerlain includes softwoods, almond, and other notes; Hugo Boss - Boss The Scent Absolute EDP features woody, ginger, and rum notes; Terre D'hermes EDT Spray, is orange and grapefruit based but it contains soft/sweet wood tones as well; Prada Luna Rossa Black Men EDP is a mostly peppery and woody fragrance; Tom Ford Oud Wood is a very pleasant, soft woody fragrance, however, very pricy; Acqua di Parma Men Colonia Quercia is a great woody, and spicy fragrance; Pasha de Cartier Edition Noire is an elegant and versatile, slightly sweet, ambery, aquatic, and woody fragrance; Mr. Burberry EDP is a spicy and woody fragrance, pleasant but very weak. Quality: 5 out of 5 – It’s a rare masterpiece – LOVE! It reminds me of the wow-factor when I initially smelt Terre d'Hermes Parfum or Xeryus Rouge. Originality: 4 out of 5 – It’s very original but has some lovely notes in it which then ironically reminds me of some of my favourite fragrances! Projection (Sillage): 3.5 out of 5 – moderate-to-heavy; people in your vicinity can smell your scent. Versatility: 4 out of 5 – This scent is very versatile; it works well for either day or night, all seasons, ‘dressed-up’ occasions, for men around 25+. Value: 2.5 out of 5 – This is a huge splurge for me at £135 for 100ml but I cannot stop smelling my hand! To treat myself on a birthday or anniversary, I’d pay this for the unique factor! But, if you’re going to spend money like this, you might as well go into John Lewis and get the whole ‘experience’ being told the notes and getting a lovely branded bag with a ribbon!  Compliment Frequency: 3 out of 5 – Unsolicited compliments on the scent were not received. However, I asked two people I know what they thought (I was over-excited by this scent) and both loved it! Packaging (Bottling): 4 out of 5 – Much thought seems to have gone into the packaging; it’s attractive and highly functional. Overall Rating: 5 out of 5 – Amazing – This fragrance is not only flaw free, but is a true masterpiece. It surpassed my expectations and should be on a collectors list. Recommendations: Try before you buy as it’s not cheap but I love it.

I've found my summer scent! Quercia opens with a delicious burst of citrus, cardamom and geranium, smoothed over by a sweet vanillic tonka bean. The oakmoss gives a brittle, sparkly quality in the beginning which, overlaid with the sweet, hesperidic top notes, calls to mind vanilla ice-cream floating in a glass of lemonade. As the top notes retreat, the cedar and oakmoss push to the fore and it becomes less citric-sweet and more starchy-powdery, but still with a hint of that soft, balmy citrus in the background. It stays like this at close range for several hours, and I'm enticed to sniff my wrist once in a while to find the lovely cardamom and bergamot still hiding behind the thin veil of earthy moss. People have compared it to "Russian Leather" by Memo -and I can see why, they both have a similar powdery, brackish quality- but Quercia is a good deal lighter and more delicate, making it more appropriate for warm weather. The price point is the only negative to me. At €175 for 100ml, it is massively over-priced compared to other Colonia scents, which typically retail at €108. Obviously it's marketed as part of an 'exclusive' range, but the ingredients, while nicely blended, don't strike me as that costly to produce. Perhaps the quality of the oakmoss extract used is particularly high? Anyway, I'm on the hunt for a bottle, at a fairer price, if anyone wants to sell.

Cards on the table, right off the bat for Quercia....This is a really, really good fragrance. Not only does it adhere to tried and tested ideas but it has some suprising extra depth and quality to elevate it that bit further. Opens with a signature AdP freshness, petitgrain/citrus/verbena but immediately let’s you know that this is a woody fragrance, with earthy tones and plenty of oakmoss, lending a wonderful masculinity. So far so straight forward but the quality of the woody base really does keep giving throughout, those lime top notes lasting well into the drydown and at the heart of this fragrance there’s cardamom and geranium, all giving a kind of Italian vibe. The most surprising thing for me is the very deep drydown after many hours...there’s the soft vanilla notes which I’m assuming is from Tonka Bean. Faceted, brilliant, strong and long lasting but not invasive...I’m pretty sold on this superb Chypre type fragrance, Bravo Acqua Di Parma.

This elegant fragrance blends citrus with light florals and traces of wood and spices to elicit a remarkably fresh take on gentlemen’s colognes. It’s for those who are bored with the standard spring, summer, fall fare, who want a fragrance with more body and complexity while still retaining a light and airy effervescence. It’s a blast of fresh air that uplifts and energizes, a scent that in the last eight months has quickly become one of my top spring/summer/fall picks. It’s not intrusive, it doesn’t demand attention, it’s not a beast, it just exudes suave sophistication and modernity—a prefect office or everywhere daytime scent. On the negative, longevity is not what I would optimally prefer. I overspray in two spots on my neck and apply lightly to my shirt to get 5-7 hour projection. Still, I like it so much I bought a 180ml backup bottle.

Amongst the AdP Colonia series (not the newest black but the brown bottles) this is now my 2nd favorite after Sandalo. While Sandalo is a full-on barbershop sandalwood masterpiece one might link it to men over 30+, Quercia has amazing versatility not just on age but also season/occasion. Another highlight that it's the least linear fragrance of the series IMO. Upon first spray I immediately thought another "mature crowd" thing, bergamot, oakmoss and geranium combo - very classy. Within the hour though it changed face into a generic masculine scent in a very good way, generic because it will remind you of some iconic fragrances. Performance, it just does the trick and lasts, projects but doesn't disturb. BUT, the price... I think it's way too expensive for what it is but can be found discounted so then it's a great deal. This one sneaked up and surprised me. I liked the opening but wasn't sure if I was unique and special. When it dried down, I could almost visually see the hidden subtle creamy wafts of tonka and cardamon mix under a layer of woods and citrus. Tickles me with delight. Opening: ADP vibe of natural, citrusy, fresh opening, but deeper and darker than my usual Colonia or Blu Mediterraneo ADPs. Bit of my Colonia Club green and mint but with added amber and a hint of leather. Pleasant and likable...do I love it? TBD Drydown: Creamy tonka and cardamon becomes more prominent and layers beautifully with the woods. Love it. Scent: 8.5 / Longevity: 7 / Sillage: 6

Nice classy and mature...basically this should be called "bergamot moss " and not "quercia" as the these are the prominent notes which stay until the end and smell like lime for me. Very nice indeed, fresh and not common. The tonka beens are noticable only at the very very end. It lasts all day with a good sillage and I really enjoy it. It makes you feel respected and macho so you dont need heavy woods and insence achieve this. Classy wealthy and confident is a man to wear this

Quercia ... ohh ... <3 I love it ... my top 5 ... most of compliments i got from my girlfriend only because of this scent heheheheh ... my girlfriend love it so much all year around , opens fresh Bergamot, Petitgrain, Lemon, Pink pepper then dry down with beautiful Tonkabean , Patchouli and Oakmoss longevity is awesome 8 hours with 2 hours good projection & sillage for me it's very unique scent and very perfect dry down scent

Oh, Quercia, how I long to wear you. 12 hours later and you're a little gem, delightful concoction of aged booze, leather, blackcurrant, honey and tobacco (to remind some of the notes which are not listed, because in this perfume you find another dominant note with each hour), getting better with age, as with all fine things in this world. I Love this fragrance! An exceptional masterpiece that excudes a presence of sophistication and confidence. The Citrus pairing with the Oakmoss is unique and balanced amazingly with the tonka adding a rounded smoothness to its character. Exceptional all year around fragrance that has garnered myself many compliments.

Awesome fragrance. For a mature man with confidence, rather than teenager-unisex scent that's for sure. So powerful, rich, dense and masculine. It starts fresh with lemon signature AdP and petitgrain, moves to a spicy heart of cardamom and geranium, and settles into a warm, woody base of cedarwood and oakmoss.

The opening is soft/bitter/citrusy from the Bergamot, after it smoothly goes into a oakmoss/woody realm. Full of depth and complexity, a really masculine fragrance. It gives me the sensation of walking in the woods after the storm, with a clean woody air. I think is one of the best perfumes from this house.

A masterpiece of a cologne!! It reminds me with Prada Carbon. They are not identical, but indeed of the same family. Both have that nice metallic-soapy theme, but this one is a bit darker and has a hint of creamy tonka, making it the better choice for office and formal setups. Elegance in a bottle.

Very nicely performed, butter biscuit with topping of sicilian tangerine toned down from oversweetness by eucalyptus. Beautiful, attractive, alluring, reminds me bit of Amouage Sunshine man! GREAT, underestimated, not a vailable for purchase anywhere near me :( where can i get one please (2026)?

The opening isn't anything special but the drydown is exquisite. Oakmoss and tonka bean are a heck of a combination. My favorite of the Colonia line (although Colonia Oud is pretty good too).

This reminds me of the strength of tom ford's oud wood but instead of wood it has a sweeter cherry undertone. And I absolutely love it. Only downside is that it's bloody expensive stuff

I might be pretty simple in my explanations, but I judge basically all tree fragrances by the smell of fresh-cut trees. Fresh-cut trunks smell quite pungent and harsh, not overly sweet, but also somewhat cold, that many may perceive as a metallic smell. Trees smell in this way rather straight forward, so I would not expect this fragrance to change very much, and it doesn't. This perfume stands out as it does kind of remind you of everything and nothing at the same time.Now that may be because either it is a blend to reminiscent an mature fresh-cut oak or it actually samples heavily the accord that does not have this much prominence in perfumes. I can smell some spices and flowers, but I guess it is for the balsamic feel of it. It is really a solid fragrance with good longevity and performance. What you get here is really an oak (oakmoss), and it is heavy. Forget lightness of flowery and fruit notes. Forget a galore of spices, no, this is a tree. I would actually expect it to be harsher, moister, earthier, but it doesn't go there. It is wearable to an extent and any solemn occasion will do, like theatre, fancier restaurant, cinema, celebrations, funeral, wedding, even for some jobs, and also for hiking or walking in the park, but surely not for clubbing or partying. I would not recommend this perfume to teenagers, but from mid 20's and upwards will do just fine.

By itself this fragrance is an upbeat and elegant petitgrain, citrus with a counter-intuitive complex earthy drop. The pairing of Autumn earthiness of cardamom, petitgrain, tonka bean, patchouli, cedar with sharp citruses seems odd, but makes for a pleasant year round day time scent. To me, this fragrance has year round appeal for daytime, but by itself is not remarkable. The utility for this fragrance is kind of similar to La Labo's Rose 33 -- but a lot sunnier and earthier smelling. It smells clean, pleasant, finely constructed and upbeat -- but not really earthy in very alluring way. I like to layer fragrances, so for me this fragrance served to both fortify and add needed gravitas and dimensionality to Tom Ford's Azure Lime. Laying these 2 fragrances together kind of liberated each of them into a new arena of sunny mystique, hearty gravitas with approachable spice. I just recieved and sprayed a sample of this so here goes! Quercia opens up wih a strong lime note accompanied by some sweetness (from the tonka?). pretty soon the lime settles down. Now the geranium takes the lead and the cedar, patchouly and oakmoss gets more noticable. Also there is a slight hint of cardamom. All in all, Quercia is a mature and fresh scent and its very different from the other offerings in the so called "ingredient collection". Personally, i think it would have been better att home in the Blue Mediterraneo lineup. It has kind of the same balance between fresh and woody/spicey as Ginepro di Sardegna. Comparisions. It has kind of the same lime opening as Creeds Virgin Island Water. There are also some similarities to Penhaligon's Quercus - probably because they share the citrus, cardamom and oakmoss notes. Final rating: 7/10 Good but not great.

Acqua di Parma Colonia Quercia is a perfume made for a manly man, someone who wears crisp white office shirts—think a Private Equity professional. It’s strong, sophisticated, and unmistakably masculine. I wore it to delve into this manly world and, although it didn’t quite suit me, I totally indulged in its rich scent. It starts fresh with lemon and petitgrain, moves to a spicy heart of cardamom and geranium, and settles into a warm, woody base of cedarwood and oakmoss. This fragrance didn’t mesh with my feminine essence, but it was a delightful experience nonetheless. My friend and I explored it in the store and were so taken that I ended up buying a bottle. Years later, we still reminisce about that day and the powerful, masculine scent of Colonia Quercia.

A fresh scent - but not green (ie Azzaro-y) or blue or airy (Issey Miyazaki-y). I dislike those green/blue/airy scents, and this has more of a sense of purity and specificity than scents in that ball park. There’s oakmoss, wood, some cardamom and lime zest. It is masculine. It’s simple and doesn’t evolve much (not a criticism). It reminds me a lot of Valiant by Boadacia the Victorious, but I doubt that will help people! They share a lot of he accords, although few of the same notes. I’d also say that there are some genes in here from La Terre d’Hermes.

Smells like Amouage Sunshine Man. I like Edit: Smells like Amouage Sunshine Man but, dare I say..., better! Edit 7/22/2016: This is very nice but can get a little cloying. I don't have a bottle or a sample but every time I come across it, I spray it and like it a lot. This time I was at Bloomies and did like 4 sprays and that may have been one too many.. anyway, I hope to get a sample to try it out a few more times but based on a couple of interactions I really like this one.

Colonia Quercia is a very interesting fragrance... in warmer weather it reminds me of bright green moss in a humid forest with a hint of pollen in the air - in colder weather, the Tonka Beans almost smell like a chocolat chaud in a Parisian café. Decent sillage - it will dominate other fragrances in the room for the first few hours - lacks the longevity of Colonia Oud - but still remains present for a good 6-8 hours on the skin.

Fantastic and sensational creation of Acqua di Parma. It is a fragrance suitable for winter, spring and autumn. For true Mediterranean gentlemen. The agreement Moss of oak and bergamot is nothing short of Divine. On a friend of mine it lasts 6 hours, on me it takes 3 hours therefore it depends on the PH. The bottle recalls a very large oak trunk, just like the greatness of this sublime masterpiece. Great!

If you like this perfume, I would recommend buying Rituals Roi d'orient, the opening is a bit different- probably because of the oak moss, but other than that it is pretty much the same thing. It is a bit sweeter and more of a fall/winter fragrance, but comes at a fraction of the price and performs much better.

I realy like this house and own a lot of bottles. This one....After 10 minutes-all i can smell is the base =sweet & synthetic. Very disappointing.

Citrus, oakmoss. Maybe cardamom and petitgrain. There's something artificial and metallic that gives me a headache. Looking at the other reviews it makes me wonder if I'm smelling a different fragrance all together but I was given this carded sample by the Neiman Marcus rep. This is for warmer weather. Quercia's projection and sillage were nice; lasted six hours before becoming soft.. Unisex maybe slightly masculine. The metallic artificial bit makes it smell too modern and like many other designer scents. The composition is a little plain but it performs well. It's not bad but I don't care for this one.

Fragrance based on a legend of Piedmont is about an immense oak, so Quercia Colonia deals with the scent that represents this vital and long-lived oak. The central core is an agreement oak moss that during the game is very nice with the company citrus and aromatic touches, but as it evolves and disappear citrus and floral crops out an acid character to imitate oak moss, but it neither comes close (too synthetic and unbalanced). The fragrance has good durability and moderate wake, but that lacks proper drying qualities (disservice he has done that Acqua di Parma oak Piedmont :)) Rating: 3

Im an oakmoss freak. I also like AdP fragrances generally very much. This might as well be a sauvage flanker. Its garbage and theres no real oakmoss nor is this anything worth even half what it costs. Super generic fake fuzz "moss", no performance. Smells like colonia on first spray, then in 30 mins smells like a modern amberwood s***show. If you want oakmoss, i urge you to look elsewhere. Crazy how nuclear, high quality and natural the Colonia Ambra or Colonia Leather smells compared to this and its the same line somehow.

Poor show from ADP, smells synthetic and generic. Reminds me of Versace Pour Homme Dylan Blue and dries down to a Sauvage ambroxan base. This stuff is nasty.

Quercia means oak in Italian. All I could smell is oakmoss and geranium. While the "oak impression" has, imho, failed here, it remains a nice fragrance in itself. This Colonia is without any doubt on the feminine side. Again, nice, but far from being my favourite from this line.

Yes, when i first smelled this perfume i was astonished. This is a good and well balanced perfume with class. If you are used to the more common popular perfumes you have to get used to it. If yr used to the more nice well balanced perfumes and the colonia series you also need to adapt to it. It opens with a woody/citric note with that deep classic smell that is typical for colonia. Then comes the very anise-like note generated by cardamom and tonka beans. The woody note is prominent along the dry down until the end. The patchouli is very noticeable in the end and I think it is the note that other reviewers here mark as synthetic. But in the whole run a good well balanced perfume just in the dry-down patchouli is too prominent and tends to make it a bit common or even in the realm of cheap/soapy-like perfume that isn't the case but it tends to it. This perfume has some good class and is for a gentleman who wants to show his elegance without being too prominent. When to wear fall/winter.

Do you remember the 'Green' feeling you got from those mythic 'Oak Moss Bombs' of yore; Paco Rabanne and Polo? The images that evoked pop-culture references such as films like Southern Comfort and Death Wish and you imagined lumberjack shirted icons of 70's Hollywoood films wore such scents to the point where you knew you couldn't possibly wear those same scents in 2017; lest it be in the privacy of your own home for fear of being seen as absurd? Well rest easy my friend; the Oak Moss-focussed men's fragrance has been well and truly rehabilitated and brought into the 21st century. I tested this fragrance with one spray to my left hand and my female colleagues commented very positively on it. I was at first a tad bit lukewarm, but soon found myself wanting to sniff my hand again and again. Bravo Acquai di Parma - a very sophisticated and impressive achievement.

Blind buy, was lucky to find 100ml of this discontinued offering, along with a 5ml miniature for under £50 (meaning I could resell at a good price if I didn't like it, with no real risk of loss). First day of wearing. Love that initial fresh blast like all other AdP. Shortly after the opening it felt quite familiar to me. I detect some strong overlaps with Armani Code, Dior Sauvage, and Moncler Sunrise due to the peppery notes, and likely the unmentioned ambroxan. I'd say this is woodier, warmer, more masculine, mature, and reserved than those. It's quieter than Code and Sauvage, but stronger than Sunrise in my experience of testing all three. I suspect I'll hang on to this one, will make for a particularly good Autumn scent but is versatile enough for other seasons and casual, outgoing or formal occasions.

Just got a sample from this. If AdP has an answer to Aventus or Sauvage, it would absolutely be this one..but I would lean more towards Sauvage in terms of what this resembles..unfortunately as it's been done so much that also leaves it in an increasingly generic category. I don't get as much of the ambroxan that Sauvage has so much of, and I'd say this is a more refined scent to my nose, coming across as less of a single 'fresh laundry' note and easier to identify some others. I get a sharp lime note up front that is remniscent of Tom Ford Azure Lime and then the cedar, oakmoss and leather trio are likely what gives me a very slight Aventus vibe that I detect immediately afterwards. It's a great scent and I love this house, but I wouldn't pay their asking price for this one.

Pleasant enough woody-freshy but a little too far on the masculine side to be wearable to me (female woody niche fan) - just a few steps too far into straight and slightly harsh aftershave-y-ness to truly enjoy. The moss is strong in this one. Bit synthetic at the edges and not quite warm enough for my taste either, though it does soften and sweeten considerably after a couple of hours. Wouldn't object to it on anyone else but it's not right for me, but I was probably barking up the wrong tree (hah!) hoping this might be an oak-centric wood temple like Lutens Chene which just happened to be hiding in plain sight among the mass-market men's EdC category. No such luck, but no harm, no foul - glad to have tried it but it wasn't the left-field genius I thought it might be.

This fragrance does go to amouage sunshine man territory with hints of memoir man because of the anise/absinthe effect it seems to be giving off due to the bergamot. If you're looking for oakmoss to be the star player, this isn't it. One other significant reason why I tie this with sunshine man is because while quercia is an eau de cologne, It's loud like sunshine man. I would say it's more wearable than sunshine man, but since I have sunshine man, I don't need a bottle of this. Very good fragrance tho.

This comes across to me as balsamic as the elemi-laced Dior Eau Sauvage Parfum (2017), which Colonia Quercia reminds me of. But no resinous notes listed here, nor in other similar fragrances such as Chanel Pour Monsieur or Bon Viveur by Naughton & Wilson. The oakmoss doesn't manifest as is it typically does to my nose. think I like this more than Eau Sauvage Parfum. This is pretty good. Not the best AdP but good. Not as good (of course) as Chanel Pour Monsieur, but good.

Sophistication is what comes to mind with this one.. Its not cheap, and might not be to everyones taste, so do have a sniff in store before forking out your hard earned cash on this one. Clearly, anyone who can operate a spray pump has the right to wear this, but I suspect it would appeal more to gents 25+, or indeed any ladies who like this style of fragrance. I think I'm a lil' bit in love with this one.

This is the absolute best in this collection. Awesome fragrance. Masculine, this is not teenager-unisex scent that's for sure. I keep thinking this would be an alternate better quality version of the original Chanel Allure Homme 1999. A mature woman magnet. So powerful, rich, dense and masculine. Top 5 oak scents of the market. This house never disappoints, every thing they sign off on is platinum.
